加油，你一定行！ (Jiāyóu, nǐ yídìng xíng!) — Go for it, you can do it!

## By the end you can

- Sit a full practice exam in the 2027 AP® Chinese format. Section I, free response, in about 45 minutes, and Section II, multiple choice, in 65: four free-response questions, then 25 listening and 30 reading questions.
- Give a project talk from a practice packet. A SayMei packet on high-speed rail and the one-hour living circle, with an article, a table and an interview. Prepare for 3 minutes, then present for 3 from notes, timed by the speaking track. 我想从三个方面来介绍。 (Wǒ xiǎng cóng sān ge fāngmiàn lái jièshào.): I'd like to present this from three angles.
- Answer four project questions in 40 seconds each. Four questions about the packet, each heard twice, with the second speaking track timing every answer. Record yourself and listen back.
- Write a story and an email to time. Narrate a four-picture story about a science project and a little sister who over-waters the plant, then reply to a friend's email about a new lunchtime phone rule, in 30 minutes for both.
- Practise five listening sets. A conversation, a news report, a teacher and a chart, a teacher's instructions and a student's presentation, five questions each, with every recording played once.
- Practise six reading sets in 40 minutes. A flyer, a school notice, an article on rooftop gardens, a sleep survey with a chart, a short story and an article on typing and handwriting, five questions each.
- Mark the paper and score yourself. The key covers all 55 multiple-choice questions, the transcript prints every recording, and model answers cover all four free-response questions. A scoring guide gives a weighted total to show your weakest part.

## How to use this book

One sitting of about two hours, then time to mark it. Take it a few weeks before the exam, so there's time to work on your weakest part afterwards.

- Before you start: Set up. Print the paper and the answer sheet (page 20). Have headphones, a timer, a phone to record yourself and, if you can, a keyboard with pinyin or zhuyin input.
- About 45 minutes: Section I: free response. Play speaking track 1 for the project talk and track 2 for the four questions, recording yourself. Then give the story and the email 30 minutes together.
- About 25 minutes: Listening. Scan the QR code or open the free listening page, and play the whole listening track straight through. Each recording plays once, and the pauses are your answer time.
- 40 minutes: Reading. Set a timer for the 30 reading questions and stop when it rings.
- Afterwards: Mark and review. Mark Section II with the key on page 23 and read the transcript on pages 21 and 22 for every listening miss. Compare your recordings and writing with the model answers, then fill in the guide on page 24.
- The weeks after: Work on your weakest part. The scoring page points you to SayMei's AP® Chinese speaking or writing workbook if the free-response questions were your weak spot.

## Who it's for

Students preparing for the AP® Chinese Language and Culture exam in the 2027 format, and teachers who want a full practice paper with audio, a transcript and model answers for a class.

Before you start: Chinese at about HSK 4. The paper is printed in characters without pinyin. If the project talk or the typed tasks are new to you, work through the AP® Chinese speaking and writing workbooks first.

## How close is this to the AP® Chinese exam?

It follows the published structure of the 2027 AP® Chinese Language and Culture exam: the same sections, task types, number of questions and timing. SayMei wrote every question, source and picture, so it is a practice test in the 2027 format.

## Why is there a project talk instead of a cultural presentation?

The 2027 format replaced the Conversation and Cultural Presentation tasks with a project presentation and four follow-up questions. On exam day you present your own course project; here a short SayMei practice packet on high-speed rail stands in for it.

## Where is the audio?

On this book's free listening page: the whole listening section as one track, each of the five sets on its own, and two speaking tracks that time your project talk and your four answers. The PDF prints a QR code to it.

## Will it tell me my AP® score?

No. The College Board does not publish how points turn into AP® scores of 1 to 5, so the scoring guide gives you a weighted total as a guide to your strong and weak parts.

## Is this workbook free?

Yes. The whole 24-page PDF is free, and you can look through its pages here before you download. There's no card and nothing to pay.

## Do I need a SayMei account?

Yes, to download the PDF, and the account is free: sign up with Google, Apple or your email address. With it we email you a copy of the workbook, keep every workbook you download on your account on all your devices, save your place in the free online practice, and you can practise speaking with Mei Lin, SayMei's AI tutor.

## How do I print it?

The PDF is US Letter size. On A4 paper, choose "Fit to page" (or "Scale to fit") in the print dialog so nothing is cut off. Print the whole workbook or only the pages you need; colour looks best, and black and white works too.

## Can I print copies for my class?

Yes. Print as many copies as you like for your own class or family. To share it, send this page: everyone can download their own copy.
