没问题！ (Méi wèntí!) — No problem!

## By the end you can

- Sit a third full HSK 1 paper with all-new questions. 40 questions, 20 listening and 20 reading, in about 40 minutes, with the parts, question counts and timing of the new HSK 1 paper (HSK 3.0).
- Practise all four listening parts. Match pictures, choose replies, follow short dialogues and answer a question about single sentences, with every recording played twice as in the exam. 你晚上几点睡觉？ (Nǐ wǎnshang jǐ diǎn shuìjiào?): What time do you go to bed at night?
- Practise all four reading parts. Match sentences to pictures and questions to replies, fill gaps from a word box, and answer a ★ question about each short text. 他在超市工作。 (Tā zài chāoshì gōngzuò.): He works at a supermarket.
- Work to exam timing. Play the whole listening section straight through, take 3 minutes to copy your answers onto the answer sheet, then give the reading 20 minutes.
- Mark the paper yourself. The answer key covers all 40 questions, and the transcript prints every recording line by line, with pinyin and English.
- See which section to work on next. Score each section out of 20 in the box on the key page. If a section comes in under 60%, the key names the SayMei book to practise it with.

## How to use this book

One sitting of about 45 minutes, then time to mark it. Take it after Mock Tests 1 and 2, or a week or two before your exam as a last full check.

- Before you start: Set up. Print the paper and the answer sheet (page 11). Sit somewhere quiet with a pencil, headphones and a timer.
- About 12 minutes: Listening. Scan the QR code or open the free listening page, and play the whole listening section without pausing.
- 3 minutes: Copy your answers. Move your listening answers onto the answer sheet, as in the exam.
- 20 minutes: Reading. Set a timer for the reading section and stop when it rings.
- Afterwards: Mark and review. Score yourself with the key on page 15. For each listening mistake, read the transcript and replay that part's track.
- Then: Compare your three scores. Put this score next to your results from Mock Tests 1 and 2 to see which part has improved and which still costs you points.

## Who it's for

Learners about to take HSK 1 on the new HSK 3.0 exam who have used up the first two practice tests, and teachers who want a fresh paper with audio for a class.

Before you start: The HSK 1 words and grammar. If you're still learning them, start with the HSK 1 Course Book and take this test at the end.

## Is it different from HSK 1 Mock Tests 1 and 2?

The format is the same and every question is new. Use it as a third full paper once you have taken the first two, or on its own if it is the first one you find.

## What's in the paper?

20 listening questions in four parts: match pictures, choose replies, follow short dialogues and answer a question about single sentences, with every recording played twice. Then 20 reading questions: match sentences to pictures and questions to replies, fill gaps from a word box, and answer a ★ question about each short text.

## How long does it take?

About 45 minutes in one sitting: about 12 minutes of listening, 3 minutes to copy your answers, then 20 minutes of reading. Take it after Mock Tests 1 and 2, or a week or two before your exam as a last full check.

## Does it have pinyin?

Yes. The reading questions print pinyin above the characters, and the transcript gives pinyin and English for every recording, so you can check each line you missed.

## How close is it to the real HSK 1 exam?

It follows the published structure of the new HSK 1 paper (HSK 3.0): the same sections, parts, number of questions and timing, with words from the 2025 HSK syllabus. SayMei wrote every question, so use it as practice. HSK 3.0 pass marks are not published, so treat your score as a guide.

## How do I use my score?

Score each section out of 20 in the box on the key page. Below 60% in reading, the key names HSK 1 Reading Practice. Below 60% in listening, it names the HSK 1 Vocabulary Recall & Speaking Workbook. Put the score next to your results from Mock Tests 1 and 2 to see which part has improved.

## Do I need a SayMei account?

Yes, to download the PDF, and the account is free: sign up with Google, Apple or your email address. With it we email you a copy of the workbook, keep every workbook you download on your account on all your devices, save your place in the free online practice, and you can practise speaking with Mei Lin, SayMei's AI tutor.

## How do I print it?

The PDF is US Letter size. On A4 paper, choose "Fit to page" (or "Scale to fit") in the print dialog so nothing is cut off. Print the whole workbook or only the pages you need; colour looks best, and black and white works too.
