Cambridge IGCSE™ Mandarin (0547) is for learners of Mandarin as a foreign language, and Edexcel International GCSE Chinese (4CN1) is close to it. Cambridge 0523 is for students who already use Chinese at home or at school. The 0547 books suit about two years of Mandarin, roughly HSK 2 to 3, and 0523 about HSK 4 to 5.
