Fire in the Mountains

In the empty mountains the uncle makes a fire, says a few words, and the ground opens. Only Aladdin can open the stone below.

Dì èr tiān zǎoshang, mófǎshī hé Ālādīng qù le chéng wài.
The next morning, the magician and Aladdin went out of the city.
- Aladdin 叔叔，都下午了！山里没有人，没有家，也没有商店！
Shūshu, dōu xiàwǔ le! Shān li méiyǒu rén, méiyǒu jiā, yě méiyǒu shāngdiàn!
Uncle, it's afternoon already! There are no people in the mountains, no homes, and no shops either!
- the Magician 这里有的东西，商店里没有！
Zhèlǐ yǒu de dōngxi, shāngdiàn li méiyǒu!
What's here, you won't find in any shop!
- Aladdin 火？叔叔，天这么热，您还要火？
Huǒ? Shūshu, tiān zhème rè, nín hái yào huǒ?
A fire? Uncle, it's so hot, and you want a fire too?
- the Magician 这不是做饭的火。阿拉丁，你看好了！
Zhè bú shì zuòfàn de huǒ. Ālādīng, nǐ kàn hǎo le!
This isn't a fire for cooking. Aladdin, watch closely!
- Narrator 魔法师在火里放了一点儿东西。他说了几个字。
Mófǎshī zài huǒ li fàng le yìdiǎnr dōngxi. Tā shuō le jǐ gè zì.
The magician put a little something into the fire. He spoke a few words.
- Aladdin 天哪！叔叔，下边有一块大石头！
Tiān na! Shūshu, xiàbian yǒu yí kuài dà shítou!
Oh my! Uncle, there's a big stone down there!
- the Magician 好！找到了！
Hǎo! Zhǎodào le!
Yes! I've found it!
- Aladdin 叔叔，我怕！我要回家！
Shūshu, wǒ pà! Wǒ yào huí jiā!
Uncle, I'm scared! I want to go home!
- the Magician 你哪儿也不能去！
Nǐ nǎr yě bù néng qù!
You're not going anywhere!
- Aladdin 叔叔，您打我？我做了什么？
Shūshu, nín dǎ wǒ? Wǒ zuò le shénme?
Uncle, you hit me? What did I do?
- the Magician 好了，不要怕。石头下边的好东西，能买十个大商店！
Hǎo le, búyào pà. Shítou xiàbian de hǎo dōngxi, néng mǎi shí gè dà shāngdiàn!
There now, don't be scared. The treasure under that stone could buy ten big shops!
- Aladdin 十个？叔叔，我不怕了！
Shí gè? Shūshu, wǒ bú pà le!
Ten? Uncle, I'm not scared anymore!
- the Magician 这块石头，叔叔不能开。只有你能开。
Zhè kuài shítou, shūshu bù néng kāi. Zhǐyǒu nǐ néng kāi.
Your uncle can't open this stone. Only you can.
- Aladdin 我能开？怎么开？
Wǒ néng kāi? Zěnme kāi?
I can open it? How?
- the Magician 你说你爸爸的名字，石头会开。
Nǐ shuō nǐ bàba de míngzi, shítou huì kāi.
Say your father's name, and the stone will open.
- Aladdin 穆斯塔法！
Mùsītǎfǎ!
Mustafa!
- Aladdin 石头开了！下边……我看不见。
Shítou kāi le! Xiàbian… wǒ kàn bu jiàn.
The stone's open! Down there... I can't see a thing.
- the Magician 阿拉丁，这是叔叔的戒指。给你，有它，你不会有事。
Ālādīng, zhè shì shūshu de jièzhi. Gěi nǐ, yǒu tā, nǐ bú huì yǒu shì.
Aladdin, this is your uncle's ring. Here, with it nothing will happen to you.
- Aladdin 真漂亮！谢谢叔叔！
Zhēn piàoliang! Xièxie shūshu!
It's so beautiful! Thank you, Uncle!
- the Magician 听好了。下边的东西，你什么都不要碰。碰了，你会死！
Tīng hǎo le. Xiàbian de dōngxi, nǐ shénme dōu búyào pèng. Pèng le, nǐ huì sǐ!
Listen carefully. The things down there, don't touch any of them. If you touch them, you'll die!
- Aladdin 死？叔叔，我不想下去了！
Sǐ? Shūshu, wǒ bù xiǎng xiàqù le!
Die? Uncle, I don't want to go down anymore!
- the Magician 不要怕，听叔叔的话。下边有一个旧灯，你找到它，给叔叔。
Búyào pà, tīng shūshu de huà. Xiàbian yǒu yí gè jiù dēng, nǐ zhǎodào tā, gěi shūshu.
Don't be scared, just do as your uncle says. There's an old lamp down there. Find it and give it to your uncle.
- Aladdin 一个旧灯？叔叔，旧的不好！我给您买新的！
Yí gè jiù dēng? Shūshu, jiù de bù hǎo! Wǒ gěi nín mǎi xīn de!
An old lamp? Uncle, old ones are no good! I'll buy you a new one!
- the Magician 不要新的！我只要那个旧灯！
Bú yào xīn de! Wǒ zhǐ yào nàge jiù dēng!
I don't want a new one! I want that old lamp and nothing else!
- Aladdin 好，我下去。叔叔，您会在上边吗？
Hǎo, wǒ xiàqù. Shūshu, nín huì zài shàngbian ma?
Okay, I'll go down. Uncle, will you be up here?
- the Magician 会。叔叔哪儿也不去。
Huì. Shūshu nǎr yě bú qù.
Yes. Your uncle isn't going anywhere.
- Narrator 魔法师还有一个秘密。
Mófǎshī hái yǒu yí gè mìmì.
The magician had one more secret.
- Narrator 有了灯，他要阿拉丁死在山洞里。没有人会知道。
Yǒu le dēng, tā yào Ālādīng sǐ zài shāndòng li. Méiyǒu rén huì zhīdào.
Once he had the lamp, he meant Aladdin to die in the cave. No one would ever know.
- the Magician 下去吧，好孩子。你再也上不来了！
Xiàqù ba, hǎo háizi. Nǐ zài yě shàng bu lái le!
Go on down, good boy. You'll never come back up!
