The uncle comes to supper with food, tears and a big promise. Then he dresses Aladdin in fine new clothes and shows him the city.

The next evening, the uncle came. He had bought lots of food and fruit.
- Aladdin 叔叔，请坐！我们买了新椅子！
Shūshu, qǐng zuò! Wǒmen mǎi le xīn yǐzi!
Uncle, please sit down! We bought a new chair!
- the Magician 好椅子！这些菜和水果，给你们。
Hǎo yǐzi! Zhèxiē cài hé shuǐguǒ, gěi nǐmen.
A fine chair! This food and fruit is for you.
- the Magician 你爸爸在的时候，坐在哪儿？
Nǐ bàba zài de shíhou, zuò zài nǎr?
When your father was still alive, where did he sit?
- Aladdin's mother 他坐在这儿。
Tā zuò zài zhèr.
He sat here.
- the Magician 哥哥……我的好哥哥！
Gēge… wǒ de hǎo gēge!
Brother... my dear brother!
- Aladdin's mother 您是他的弟弟？穆斯塔法没有说他有弟弟。
Nín shì tā de dìdi? Mùsītǎfǎ méiyǒu shuō tā yǒu dìdi.
You're his brother? Mustafa never said he had a brother.
- the Magician 四十年前，我去了很远的西边。我回来了，哥哥不在了……
Sìshí nián qián, wǒ qù le hěn yuǎn de xībian. Wǒ huílái le, gēge bú zài le…
Forty years ago, I went far away to the west. Now I'm back, and my brother is gone...
- Aladdin 妈妈，叔叔很会哭。
Māma, shūshu hěn huì kū.
Mom, Uncle is really good at crying.
- Aladdin's mother 孩子，不要说话！
Háizi, búyào shuōhuà!
Child, hush!
- the Magician 阿拉丁，你想做什么工作？
Ālādīng, nǐ xiǎng zuò shénme gōngzuò?
Aladdin, what work do you want to do?
- Aladdin's mother 工作？您看，他白天都在玩！
Gōngzuò? Nín kàn, tā báitiān dōu zài wán!
Work? You see? He plays all day long!
- Aladdin 我不想工作！叔叔，我想要一个大商店，有好多漂亮的衣服！
Wǒ bù xiǎng gōngzuò! Shūshu, wǒ xiǎng yào yí gè dà shāngdiàn, yǒu hǎo duō piàoliang de yīfu!
I don't want to work! Uncle, I want a big shop, with lots of beautiful clothes!
- the Magician 好！叔叔给你一个商店！
Hǎo! Shūshu gěi nǐ yí gè shāngdiàn!
Good! Your uncle will give you a shop!
- Aladdin 真的吗？妈妈，我有商店了！
Zhēn de ma? Māma, wǒ yǒu shāngdiàn le!
Really? Mom, I've got a shop!
- Aladdin's mother 孩子，你有一个好叔叔。谢谢您！
Háizi, nǐ yǒu yí gè hǎo shūshu. Xièxie nín!
Child, you have a good uncle. Thank you!
- Narrator 第二天，叔叔和阿拉丁去买衣服。
Dì èr tiān, shūshu hé Ālādīng qù mǎi yīfu.
The next day, the uncle and Aladdin went to buy clothes.
- Aladdin 叔叔，这些衣服很贵吧？
Shūshu, zhèxiē yīfu hěn guì ba?
Uncle, these clothes cost a lot, don't they?
- the Magician 贵？叔叔有钱！这件好看，这件也好看。都买！
Guì? Shūshu yǒu qián! Zhè jiàn hǎokàn, zhè jiàn yě hǎokàn. Dōu mǎi!
Cost a lot? Your uncle has money! This one looks good, and so does this one. We'll buy them all!
- Aladdin 新衣服！叔叔，我好看吗？
Xīn yīfu! Shūshu, wǒ hǎokàn ma?
New clothes! Uncle, do I look good?
- the Magician 好看！你现在是一个小商人了！
Hǎokàn! Nǐ xiànzài shì yí gè xiǎo shāngrén le!
You look good! Now you're a little merchant!
- Aladdin 叔叔，您看那些商店！好多人！
Shūshu, nín kàn nàxiē shāngdiàn! Hǎo duō rén!
Uncle, look at those shops! So many people!
- the Magician 这是国王的宫殿。宫殿很大，很漂亮。国王和公主住在这里。
Zhè shì guówáng de gōngdiàn. Gōngdiàn hěn dà, hěn piàoliang. Guówáng hé gōngzhǔ zhù zài zhèlǐ.
This is the sultan's palace. It's big and beautiful. The sultan and the princess live here.
- Aladdin 公主？她漂亮吗？
Gōngzhǔ? Tā piàoliang ma?
The princess? Is she beautiful?
- the Magician 看宫殿吧，孩子，不要看公主！
Kàn gōngdiàn ba, háizi, búyào kàn gōngzhǔ!
Look at the palace, boy, not the princess!
- Aladdin 宫殿里有多少房间？
Gōngdiàn li yǒu duōshao fángjiān?
How many rooms are in the palace?

- Aladdin 叔叔，巴格达真漂亮！今天我好高兴！
Shūshu, Bāgédá zhēn piàoliang! Jīntiān wǒ hǎo gāoxìng!
Uncle, Baghdad is so beautiful! I'm so happy today!
- the Magician 阿拉丁，明天我和你去看一个东西。巴格达也没有它漂亮！
Ālādīng, míngtiān wǒ hé nǐ qù kàn yí gè dōngxi. Bāgédá yě méiyǒu tā piàoliang!
Aladdin, tomorrow you and I will go and see something. Even Baghdad isn't as beautiful as that!
