Guówáng, sān gè yuè dào le. Wǒ de érzi néng hé gōngzhǔ jiéhūn le ma?
Your Majesty, the three months are up. Can my son marry the princess now?

Vizier, the three months were your idea! What do I tell her?
- the Grand Vizier 国王，您可以说好。您要很多很多宝石！
Guówáng, nín kěyǐ shuō hǎo. Nín yào hěn duō hěn duō bǎoshí!
Your Majesty, you can say yes. And ask for lots and lots of jewels!

Hěn duō bǎoshí? Yào duōshao?
Lots of jewels? How many?
- the Grand Vizier 四十个大盘子，都是宝石！他们家没有！
Sìshí gè dà pánzi, dōu shì bǎoshí! Tāmen jiā méiyǒu!
Forty big dishes, all full of jewels! Their family doesn't have that!
- the Sultan 好！你听好。我要四十个金子做的大盘子，里边都是宝石。
Hǎo! Nǐ tīng hǎo. Wǒ yào sìshí gè jīnzi zuò de dà pánzi, lǐbian dōu shì bǎoshí.
Good! Listen well. I want forty big dishes made of gold, all full of jewels.
- the Sultan 四十个人，一个人一个盘子。还有四十个人在边上。
Sìshí gè rén, yí gè rén yí gè pánzi. Hái yǒu sìshí gè rén zài biān shàng.
Forty men, one dish each. And forty more men at their side.
- the Grand Vizier 阿拉丁不能和公主结婚了！
Ālādīng bù néng hé gōngzhǔ jiéhūn le!
Aladdin can't marry the princess now!
- Aladdin's mother 孩子！国王要四十个金子做的盘子！还有八十个人！
Háizi! Guówáng yào sìshí gè jīnzi zuò de pánzi! Hái yǒu bāshí gè rén!
Child! The sultan wants forty dishes made of gold! And eighty men!
- Aladdin 妈妈，不要怕。四十个盘子，不多。
Māma, búyào pà. Sìshí gè pánzi, bù duō.
Mother, don't be afraid. Forty dishes isn't many.
- Aladdin's mother 不多？我们家太小了！八十个人，坐哪儿？
Bù duō? Wǒmen jiā tài xiǎo le! Bāshí gè rén, zuò nǎr?
Not many? Our home is too small! Where will eighty men sit?
- Aladdin 他们不坐，妈妈。你去外边吧，我要擦灯了。
Tāmen bú zuò, māma. Nǐ qù wàibian ba, wǒ yào cā dēng le.
They won't be sitting, Mother. Go outside, I'm going to rub the lamp.
- Aladdin's mother 好！我不要看见他！
Hǎo! Wǒ bú yào kànjiàn tā!
All right! I don't want to see him!

Zhǔrén, nǐ yào shénme?
Master, what do you want?
- Aladdin 国王要的东西，都给我！
Guówáng yào de dōngxi, dōu gěi wǒ!
Everything the sultan asked for: give it all to me!

Shì, zhǔrén.
Yes, master.
- Aladdin's mother 孩子！家里、外边，都是人！
Háizi! Jiā li, wàibian, dōu shì rén!
Child! There are men inside and outside!
- Aladdin 妈妈，你和他们去宫殿吧！
Māma, nǐ hé tāmen qù gōngdiàn ba!
Mother, go to the palace with them!
- Narrator 中午，妈妈和八十个人去了宫殿。
Zhōngwǔ, māma hé bāshí gè rén qù le gōngdiàn.
At noon, Aladdin's mother and the eighty men went to the palace.
- Narrator 大家都在外边看，人非常多。
Dàjiā dōu zài wàibian kàn, rén fēicháng duō.
Everyone was outside watching; there were so many people.
- Aladdin's mother 他们都在看我，我的衣服太旧了！
Tāmen dōu zài kàn wǒ, wǒ de yīfu tài jiù le!
They're all looking at me, and my clothes are too old!
- Narrator 国王的大房间里，没有人说话。
Guówáng de dà fángjiān li, méiyǒu rén shuōhuà.
In the sultan's great hall, no one said a word.
