Aladdin slips into the far city in old clothes to buy something small, and that evening the princess smiles at the magician for the first time.

Nà tiān shàngwǔ, Ālādīng chuān shàng jiù yīfu, qù le chéng li.
That morning Aladdin put on old clothes and went into the city.
- Aladdin 这里没有人认识我。那个小店卖药，我去看看。
Zhèlǐ méiyǒu rén rènshi wǒ. Nàge xiǎo diàn mài yào, wǒ qù kànkan.
No one here knows me. That little shop sells powders. I'll go and look.
- Narrator 阿拉丁买了一点儿药。人喝了这个药，会死。
Ālādīng mǎi le yìdiǎnr yào. Rén hē le zhège yào, huì sǐ.
Aladdin bought a little powder. Whoever drinks it will die.

Mófǎshī, nǐ piàn le wǒ, yě piàn le gōngzhǔ. Jīntiān, wǒmen yě piàn nǐ.
Magician, you tricked me, and you tricked the princess. Today, we'll trick you back.
- Aladdin 公主，这是药。放在你的杯子里。
Gōngzhǔ, zhè shì yào. Fàng zài nǐ de bēizi li.
Princess, this is the powder. Put it in your cup.
- the Princess 我的杯子？我不要死！
Wǒ de bēizi? Wǒ bú yào sǐ!
My cup? I don't want to die!
- Aladdin 你不喝。晚饭的时候，你的杯子给他喝。
Nǐ bù hē. Wǎnfàn de shíhou, nǐ de bēizi gěi tā hē.
You won't drink it. At supper, you give him your cup to drink.
- the Princess 我知道了。今天晚上，我来骗他。
Wǒ zhīdào le. Jīntiān wǎnshang, wǒ lái piàn tā.
I understand. Tonight, I'll trick him.
- Aladdin 今天晚上，你要很漂亮。穿上有宝石的新衣服！
Jīntiān wǎnshang, nǐ yào hěn piàoliang. Chuān shàng yǒu bǎoshí de xīn yīfu!
Tonight you must look beautiful. Put on your new clothes, the ones with jewels!
- Narrator 那天晚上，魔法师来了。
Nà tiān wǎnshang, mófǎshī lái le.
That evening, the magician came.
- the Princess 你来了！请坐。今天的晚饭很好吃。
Nǐ lái le! Qǐng zuò. Jīntiān de wǎnfàn hěn hǎochī.
You've come! Please, sit down. Supper is very good tonight.
- the Magician 公主，您今天真漂亮！您穿新衣服了！
Gōngzhǔ, nín jīntiān zhēn piàoliang! Nín chuān xīn yīfu le!
Princess, you look so beautiful today! You're wearing new clothes!
- the Princess 阿拉丁死了。我哭了很多天，现在不想哭了。
Ālādīng sǐ le. Wǒ kū le hěn duō tiān, xiànzài bù xiǎng kū le.
Aladdin is dead. I've cried for many days. Now I don't want to cry anymore.
- the Magician 太好了！他死了，您不要想他了。
Tài hǎo le! Tā sǐ le, nín búyào xiǎng tā le.
Wonderful! He's dead. Don't think of him anymore.
- the Princess 对，我不想他了。我想和你吃晚饭。
Duì, wǒ bù xiǎng tā le. Wǒ xiǎng hé nǐ chī wǎnfàn.
Yes. I won't think of him. I want to have supper with you.
- the Magician 公主，您看我，我今天好看吗？
Gōngzhǔ, nín kàn wǒ, wǒ jīntiān hǎokàn ma?
Princess, look at me. Do I look handsome today?
- the Princess 好看……很好看。
Hǎokàn… hěn hǎokàn.
Handsome... very handsome.
- the Magician 她说我好看！公主现在是我的了！
Tā shuō wǒ hǎokàn! Gōngzhǔ xiànzài shì wǒ de le!
She says I'm handsome! The princess is mine now!
- the Princess 在巴格达，要结婚的两个人吃饭的时候，我喝你的，你喝我的。
Zài Bāgédá, yào jiéhūn de liǎng gè rén chīfàn de shíhou, wǒ hē nǐ de, nǐ hē wǒ de.
In Baghdad, when two people who are to marry eat together, each drinks from the other's cup.
- the Magician 真的吗？那给我您的杯子！
Zhēn de ma? Nà gěi wǒ nín de bēizi!
Really? Then give me your cup!
- the Princess 给你。你都喝了吧。
Gěi nǐ. Nǐ dōu hē le ba.
Here you are. Drink it all.
- the Magician 公主，您真好。我们明天结婚吧！
Gōngzhǔ, nín zhēn hǎo. Wǒmen míngtiān jiéhūn ba!
Princess, you're so good to me. Let's marry tomorrow!
- Narrator 魔法师都喝了。他死了。
Mófǎshī dōu hē le. Tā sǐ le.
The magician drank it all. He died.
- the Princess 阿拉丁，你来！现在来！
Ālādīng, nǐ lái! Xiànzài lái!
Aladdin, come! Come now!
- Aladdin 公主！你还好吗？他喝了吗？
Gōngzhǔ! Nǐ hái hǎo ma? Tā hē le ma?
Princess! Are you all right? Did he drink it?
- the Princess 我没事。魔法师死了。
Wǒ méishì. Mófǎshī sǐ le.
I'm all right. The magician is dead.
- Aladdin 我的旧灯呢？在他的衣服里……
Wǒ de jiù dēng ne? Zài tā de yīfu li…
Where's my old lamp? In his clothes...
- Aladdin 旧灯，你在哪儿？我来找你了。
Jiù dēng, nǐ zài nǎr? Wǒ lái zhǎo nǐ le.
Old lamp, where are you? I've come for you.
