That afternoon, the gentleman and Cinderella rode back to the palace in a coach.

Báitiān de wánggōng, méiyǒu wǔhuì, rén hěn shǎo.
By day there was no ball at the palace, and few people were about.
- Cinderella 先生，王子喜欢的是公主。我不是公主……
Xiānsheng, wángzǐ xǐhuan de shì gōngzhǔ. Wǒ bú shì gōngzhǔ…
Sir, it's a princess the prince loves. And I'm not a princess...

- The Prince 公主！是你！你今天比那两个晚上还漂亮！
Gōngzhǔ! Shì nǐ! Nǐ jīntiān bǐ nà liǎng gè wǎnshang hái piàoliang!
Princess! It's you! You're even more beautiful today than on those two nights!
- The Gentleman 王子，鞋是她的。两只都是。
Wángzǐ, xié shì tā de. Liǎng zhī dōu shì.
Prince, the slipper is hers. Both of them are.
- The Prince 那天晚上，我看你的鞋看了一个晚上。
Nà tiān wǎnshang, wǒ kàn nǐ de xié kàn le yí gè wǎnshang.
That night, I looked at your slipper all night long.
- Cinderella 我知道。我的两个姐姐都看见了！
Wǒ zhīdào. Wǒ de liǎng gè jiějie dōu kànjiàn le!
I know. My two sisters saw it all!
- The Prince 公主，这几天我只想一件事：你叫什么名字？
Gōngzhǔ, zhè jǐ tiān wǒ zhǐ xiǎng yí jiàn shì: nǐ jiào shénme míngzi?
Princess, all these days I've thought of only one thing: what is your name?
- Cinderella 我的名字……不好听。
Wǒ de míngzi… bù hǎotīng.
My name... isn't a pretty one.
- The Prince 我想听。
Wǒ xiǎng tīng.
I want to hear it.
- Cinderella 我不是公主。大家叫我灰姑娘。
Wǒ bú shì gōngzhǔ. Dàjiā jiào wǒ Huī gūniang.
I'm not a princess. Everyone calls me Cinderella.
- The Prince 灰姑娘？很好听！我喜欢这个名字。
Huī gūniang? Hěn hǎotīng! Wǒ xǐhuan zhège míngzi.
Cinderella? It's lovely! I like that name.
- Cinderella 我家有爸爸、继母和两个姐姐。我天天在火边做饭。
Wǒ jiā yǒu bàba, jìmǔ hé liǎng gè jiějie. Wǒ tiāntiān zài huǒ biān zuò fàn.
At home there's my father, my stepmother and my two sisters. Every day I cook by the fire.
- The Prince 那天晚上，你怎么跑了？我在后边跑，没有看见你。
Nà tiān wǎnshang, nǐ zěnme pǎo le? Wǒ zài hòubian pǎo, méiyǒu kànjiàn nǐ.
Then that night, why did you run? I ran after you, but I couldn't see you.
- Cinderella 到了十二点，我的金衣服会变成旧衣服。我不想你看见。
Dào le shí'èr diǎn, wǒ de jīn yīfu huì biànchéng jiù yīfu. Wǒ bù xiǎng nǐ kànjiàn.
At twelve o'clock, my gold dress would turn into old clothes. I didn't want you to see.
- The Prince 那你的金马车呢？
Nà nǐ de jīn mǎchē ne?
Then what about your gold coach?
- Cinderella 那是花园里的一个南瓜！
Nà shì huāyuán li de yí gè nánguā!
That was a pumpkin from the garden!
- The Prince 南瓜？你坐南瓜来跳舞？
Nánguā? Nǐ zuò nánguā lái tiàowǔ?
A pumpkin? You came to dance in a pumpkin?
- Cinderella 几点了？是十二点吗？
Jǐ diǎn le? Shì shí'èr diǎn ma?
What time is it? Is it twelve?
- The Prince 不是，是五点。
Bú shì, shì wǔ diǎn.
No, it's five.
- Cinderella 天哪！我的脚还想跑呢！
Tiān na! Wǒ de jiǎo hái xiǎng pǎo ne!
Oh my! My feet still want to run!
- The Prince 灰姑娘，穿旧衣服的你，穿新衣服的你，我都爱。
Huī gūniang, chuān jiù yīfu de nǐ, chuān xīn yīfu de nǐ, wǒ dōu ài.
Cinderella, in old clothes or in new ones, I love you just the same.
- Cinderella 我也是。这几天，我天天在想你。
Wǒ yě shì. Zhè jǐ tiān, wǒ tiāntiān zài xiǎng nǐ.
Me too. All these days, I've thought of you every day.
- The Prince 先生！请你对王宫里的人说：几天后，我们结婚！
Xiānsheng! Qǐng nǐ duì wánggōng li de rén shuō: jǐ tiān hòu, wǒmen jiéhūn!
Sir! Please tell everyone in the palace: in a few days, we will be married!
- The Gentleman 是，王子。三百二十只脚……我可以休息了。
Shì, wángzǐ. Sānbǎi èrshí zhī jiǎo… wǒ kěyǐ xiūxi le.
Yes, Prince. Three hundred and twenty feet... now I can rest.
- The Prince 灰姑娘，结婚那天……你不会再跑了吧？
Huī gūniang, jiéhūn nà tiān… nǐ bú huì zài pǎo le ba?
