That evening, the two children came back to their father's little house.
- Gretel 哥哥，爸爸在里边吗？

Brother, is Father in there?
- Hansel 不要怕，格莱特。我说了，我们会回家的！
Bú yào pà, Géláitè. Wǒ shuō le, wǒmen huì huí jiā de!
Don't be afraid, Gretel. I told you we'd get home!

Shì wǒmen, bàba!
It's us, Father!
- Narrator 两个孩子抱住了爸爸。
Liǎng gè háizi bàozhù le bàba.
The two children threw their arms around their father.
- the father 孩子们！你们没有死！你们回来了！
Háizimen! Nǐmen méiyǒu sǐ! Nǐmen huílai le!
Children! You're alive! You've come back!
- Hansel 爸爸，不要哭。我们都好好的！
Bàba, bú yào kū. Wǒmen dōu hǎohǎo de!
Don't cry, Father. We're both just fine!
- the father 爸爸对不起你们。你们不在，我没有一天是高兴的。
Bàba duìbuqǐ nǐmen. Nǐmen bú zài, wǒ méiyǒu yì tiān shì gāoxìng de.
I'm so sorry, both of you. With you gone, I didn't have one happy day.
- Gretel 爸爸，没关系。现在，我们都在这儿了！
Bàba, méi guānxi. Xiànzài, wǒmen dōu zài zhèr le!
It's all right, Father. We're all here now!
- Hansel 爸爸，后妈呢？
Bàba, hòumā ne?
Father, where's our stepmother?
- the father 她死了。
Tā sǐ le.
She's dead.
- the father 你们饿吗？家里没有面包了……
Nǐmen è ma? Jiā li méiyǒu miànbāo le…
Are you hungry? There's no bread left in the house...
- Gretel 爸爸，你看！我们有这个！
Bàba, nǐ kàn! Wǒmen yǒu zhège!
Father, look! We have this!
- the father 这是什么？白白的……是石头吗？
Zhè shì shénme? Báibái de… shì shítou ma?
What's this? All white... are they stones?
- Gretel 不是石头，爸爸！是珍珠！
Bú shì shítou, bàba! Shì zhēnzhū!
They're not stones, Father! They're pearls!
- Hansel 今天早上，格莱特也这么问！
Jīntiān zǎoshang, Géláitè yě zhème wèn!
Gretel asked the same thing this morning!
- Gretel 哥哥，不要说了！
Gēge, bú yào shuō le!
Brother, stop it!
- Hansel 爸爸，我的衣服里还有很多！
Bàba, wǒ de yīfu li hái yǒu hěn duō!
Father, there are lots more in my coat!
- Narrator 房间里，这里、那里，都是珍珠。
Fángjiān li, zhèlǐ, nàlǐ, dōu shì zhēnzhū.
Here and there, all over the room, there were pearls.
- the father 这么多珍珠！这是真的吗？
Zhème duō zhēnzhū! Zhè shì zhēn de ma?
So many pearls! Can this be real?
- Gretel 爸爸，我们有钱了！我们再也不会饿了！
Bàba, wǒmen yǒu qián le! Wǒmen zài yě bú huì è le!
Father, we're rich! We'll never be hungry again!
- Hansel 这些是爸爸的，这些是格莱特的。这些……都是我的！
Zhèxiē shì bàba de, zhèxiē shì Géláitè de. Zhèxiē… dōu shì wǒ de!
These are Father's, these are Gretel's. And these... are all mine!
- Gretel 哥哥，都是我们家的！
Gēge, dōu shì wǒmen jiā de!
Brother, they all belong to our family!
- the father 孩子们，有你们，爸爸什么都有了。
Háizimen, yǒu nǐmen, bàba shénme dōu yǒu le.
Children, with you here, I have everything.
- Narrator 爸爸和两个孩子，天天都很高兴。故事说完了。
Bàba hé liǎng gè háizi, tiāntiān dōu hěn gāoxìng. Gùshi shuō wán le.
The father and his two children were happy every day. And so the story is done.
- Narrator 那边来了一只小老鼠。谁找到它，可以用它做很大很大的帽子。
Nàbiān lái le yì zhī xiǎo lǎoshǔ. Shéi zhǎodào tā, kěyǐ yòng tā zuò hěn dà hěn dà de màozi.
Over there comes a little mouse. Whoever finds it can make a great big hat out of it.
