He misses me too much. Both my sisters are married, and my brothers are all in the army.

Now Father is all alone at home. No one sings to him anymore.

Yes. Beast, I can't promise you. If I can't see him, I'll die.
- Narrator 野兽半天没有说话。
Yěshòu bàntiān méiyǒu shuōhuà.
For a long while, the Beast said nothing.
- The Beast 美儿，我死了，没关系。我不要你不高兴。
Měi'ér, wǒ sǐ le, méi guānxi. Wǒ bú yào nǐ bù gāoxìng.
Beauty, if I die, it doesn't matter. I don't want you to be unhappy.
- The Beast 你回家去吧。你不会再回来了……我知道。
Nǐ huí jiā qù ba. Nǐ bú huì zài huílái le… wǒ zhīdào.
Go home. You won't come back again... I know.
- Narrator 美儿哭了。

Beauty began to cry.

- Beauty 那你来看谁吃晚饭呢？

Then who will you come and watch eat supper?

Kàn nǐ de yǐzi.
I'll look at your chair.
- Beauty 我只回家一个星期。我会回来的，我答应你！
Wǒ zhǐ huí jiā yí gè xīngqī. Wǒ huì huílái de, wǒ dāying nǐ!
I'll only go home for one week. I'll come back, I promise!
- The Beast 好。我等你。明天早上你醒了，会在你爸爸家里。
Hǎo. Wǒ děng nǐ. Míngtiān zǎoshang nǐ xǐng le, huì zài nǐ bàba jiā li.
All right. I'll wait for you. When you wake up tomorrow morning, you'll be at your father's house.
- Beauty 那我怎么回来呢？
Nà wǒ zěnme huílái ne?
Then how do I come back?
- The Beast 这个戒指给你。
Zhège jièzhi gěi nǐ.
This ring is for you.
- Beauty 给我的？好漂亮的戒指！你看，我戴上了。
Gěi wǒ de? Hǎo piàoliang de jièzhi! Nǐ kàn, wǒ dài shàng le.
For me? What a pretty ring! Look, I've put it on.
- The Beast 你想回来，睡觉前，戒指放在桌子上。第二天早上，你会在这里。
Nǐ xiǎng huílái, shuìjiào qián, jièzhi fàng zài zhuōzi shang. Dì èr tiān zǎoshang, nǐ huì zài zhèlǐ.
When you want to come back, put the ring on the table before you go to sleep. The next morning, you'll be here.

Hǎo, wǒ jìzhù le. Yěshòu, nǐ yào hǎohǎo chīfàn. Yí gè xīngqī hòu jiàn!

Jìzhù nǐ dāying wǒ de huà. Nǐ bù huílái, nǐ de Yěshòu huì sǐ.
