Beauty opens door after door in search of the young man, and the palace has surprises waiting. At nine the Beast asks again, and that night someone visits her dream.

A few days later, Beauty was still searching the palace for the man from her dream.

Tā bú zài zhège fángjiān. Měi'ér, zài kāi yí gè mén ba!
He isn't in this room. Come on, Beauty, try one more door!
- Beauty 这么多鸟！

If only you lived right next to my room!
- Beauty 这儿还有一个小门……开一下看看吧。
Zhèr hái yǒu yí gè xiǎo mén… kāi yíxià kànkan ba.
There's another little door here... Let's open it and see.
- Beauty 这是……我的房间！这个宫殿听见我的话了！
Zhè shì… wǒ de fángjiān! Zhège gōngdiàn tīngjiàn wǒ de huà le!
It's... my room! This palace heard what I said!
- Narrator 宫殿里还有会说话的鸟，会叫美儿的名字。
Gōngdiàn li hái yǒu huì shuōhuà de niǎo, huì jiào Měi'ér de míngzi.
There were talking birds in the palace too, and they could call Beauty by name.
- Beauty 你们两个也来和我吃晚饭吗？
Nǐmen liǎng gè yě lái hé wǒ chī wǎnfàn ma?
Are you two coming to have supper with me too?
- Beauty 好了，我知道我叫美儿！
Hǎo le, wǒ zhīdào wǒ jiào Měi'ér!
All right, I know my name is Beauty!
- Narrator 有一天，美儿来到一个房间。里边只有八个窗户。
Yǒu yì tiān, Měi'ér láidào yí gè fángjiān. Lǐbian zhǐyǒu bā gè chuānghu.
One day Beauty came to a room. There was nothing in it but eight windows.
- Beauty 这么多窗户！我在这儿坐一下吧。
Zhème duō chuānghu! Wǒ zài zhèr zuò yíxià ba.
So many windows! I'll sit here for a moment.
- Beauty 窗户外边有人！
Chuānghu wàibian yǒu rén!
There are people outside the window!
- Beauty 这个窗户外边有人跳舞，那个窗户外边有人唱歌！
Zhège chuānghu wàibian yǒu rén tiàowǔ, nàge chuānghu wàibian yǒu rén chànggē!
Outside this window people are dancing, and outside that one they're singing!
- Beauty 有鸟和我说话，有人给我唱歌。我不是一个人了！
Yǒu niǎo hé wǒ shuōhuà, yǒu rén gěi wǒ chànggē. Wǒ bú shì yí gè rén le!
Birds to talk to me, people to sing for me. I'm not alone anymore!
- Narrator 晚上九点，野兽来看美儿吃晚饭。
Wǎnshang jiǔ diǎn, Yěshòu lái kàn Měi'ér chī wǎnfàn.
At nine that evening, the Beast came to watch Beauty eat her supper.
- The Beast 美儿，你今天看见了什么？
Měi'ér, nǐ jīntiān kànjiàn le shénme?
Beauty, what did you see today?
- Beauty 你的宫殿里，什么都有！鸟会叫我的名字！
Nǐ de gōngdiàn li, shénme dōu yǒu! Niǎo huì jiào wǒ de míngzi!
Your palace has everything! The birds can call me by name!
- Beauty 野兽，你说的话没有它们多！
Yěshòu, nǐ shuō de huà méiyǒu tāmen duō!
Beast, you don't talk as much as they do!
- The Beast 它们会说很多话。我只会问一个问题。
Tāmen huì shuō hěn duō huà. Wǒ zhǐ huì wèn yí gè wèntí.
They can say lots of things. I can only ask one question.
- The Beast 美儿，做我的妻子，好吗？
Měi'ér, zuò wǒ de qīzi, hǎo ma?
Beauty, will you be my wife?
- Beauty 不，野兽。
Bù, Yěshòu.
No, Beast.
- The Beast 我知道了……再见，美儿。
Wǒ zhīdào le… zàijiàn, Měi'ér.
I see... Goodbye, Beauty.
- Beauty 他天天都问，我天天都说不。
Tā tiāntiān dōu wèn, wǒ tiāntiān dōu shuō bù.
Every night he asks, and every night I say no.
- Beauty 今天，他比昨天还不高兴……
Jīntiān, tā bǐ zuótiān hái bù gāoxìng…
Tonight he was even unhappier than last night...
- Narrator 那天晚上，那个女人来到了美儿的梦里。
Nà tiān wǎnshang, nàge nǚrén láidào le Měi'ér de mèng li.
That night, the lady came into Beauty's dream.

Měi'ér, bú yào xiāngxìn nǐ de yǎnjing, yào xiāngxìn nǐ de xīn.
Beauty, don't trust your eyes. Trust your heart.
- Beauty 您在说什么？我的眼睛看见的，不是真的吗？
Nín zài shuō shénme? Wǒ de yǎnjing kànjiàn de, bú shì zhēn de ma?
