At Father's house Beauty chooses a dress from the chest of gold, and that afternoon her two sisters come to see her.

Bàba, zhèxiē yīfu tài piàoliang le! Wǒ chuān nǎ yí jiàn?
Father, these dresses are so beautiful! Which one should I wear?
- Father 你穿哪件都好看。
Nǐ chuān nǎ jiàn dōu hǎokàn.
You look lovely in any of them.

The dresses are gone too! What is going on?

Good thing I put one on!
- Father 美儿，衣服是野兽给你的。他不想你给姐姐们。
Měi'ér, yīfu shì Yěshòu gěi nǐ de. Tā bù xiǎng nǐ gěi jiějiemen.
Beauty, the Beast gave those dresses to you. He doesn't want you giving them to your sisters.
- Beauty 好吧，野兽！衣服都是我的！
Hǎo ba, Yěshòu! Yīfu dōu shì wǒ de!
All right, Beast! The dresses are all mine!
- Father 你看！箱子回来了！
Nǐ kàn! Xiāngzi huílái le!
Look! The chest is back!
- Beauty 他听见了！谢谢你，野兽！
Tā tīngjiàn le! Xièxie nǐ, Yěshòu!
He heard me! Thank you, Beast!
- Father 美儿，我叫人去对你大姐、二姐说。她们会想见你的！
Měi'ér, wǒ jiào rén qù duì nǐ dàjiě, èrjiě shuō. Tāmen huì xiǎng jiàn nǐ de!
Beauty, I'll send word to your sisters. They'll want to see you!

In the afternoon Eldest Sister and Second Sister came. Their husbands came too.

Children, look! Beauty is back!
- Second Sister 天哪！美儿，你的衣服上有金子！
Tiān na! Měi'ér, nǐ de yīfu shang yǒu jīnzi!
Good heavens! Beauty, there's gold on your dress!
- Eldest Sister 你看她！她是公主吗？
Nǐ kàn tā! Tā shì gōngzhǔ ma?
Look at her! Is she a princess?
- Beauty 大姐！二姐！我很想你们！
Dàjiě! Èrjiě! Wǒ hěn xiǎng nǐmen!
Eldest Sister! Second Sister! I missed you so much!
- Eldest Sister 你没有死？野兽没有吃你？
Nǐ méiyǒu sǐ? Yěshòu méiyǒu chī nǐ?
You're not dead? The Beast didn't eat you?
- Beauty 没有！他对我很好。我在宫殿里很高兴！
Méiyǒu! Tā duì wǒ hěn hǎo. Wǒ zài gōngdiàn li hěn gāoxìng!
No! He's very good to me. I'm happy in the palace!
- Second Sister 我的丈夫很聪明！你的野兽有什么？有很多金子吗？
Wǒ de zhàngfu hěn cōngming! Nǐ de Yěshòu yǒu shénme? Yǒu hěn duō jīnzi ma?
My husband is very clever! What has your Beast got? Lots of gold?
- Beauty 我想要什么，宫殿里都有。
Wǒ xiǎng yào shénme, gōngdiàn li dōu yǒu.
Whatever I want, the palace has it.
- Eldest Sister 那你怎么回来了？
Nà nǐ zěnme huílái le?
Then why did you come back?
- Beauty 我想爸爸了。一个星期后，我要回宫殿。
Wǒ xiǎng bàba le. Yí gè xīngqī hòu, wǒ yào huí gōngdiàn.
I missed Father. In a week, I'm going back to the palace.
- Narrator 两个姐姐去了花园。她们在那里哭了。
Liǎng gè jiějie qù le huāyuán. Tāmen zài nàlǐ kū le.
The two sisters went into the garden, and there they cried.
- Second Sister 大姐，我的丈夫是很聪明。他说人人都不好，第一个是我！
Dàjiě, wǒ de zhàngfu shì hěn cōngming. Tā shuō rénrén dōu bù hǎo, dì yī gè shì wǒ!
Eldest Sister, my husband is clever, all right. He says everyone's no good, and me first!
- Eldest Sister 我的丈夫很好看。他天天看镜子，不看我！
Wǒ de zhàngfu hěn hǎokàn. Tā tiāntiān kàn jìngzi, bú kàn wǒ!
My husband is very handsome. He looks in the mirror all day, never at me!
- Second Sister 美儿的野兽那么丑，她还那么高兴！
Měi'ér de Yěshòu nàme chǒu, tā hái nàme gāoxìng!
Beauty's Beast is so ugly, and she's still so happy!
- Eldest Sister 她怎么比我们好？
Tā zěnme bǐ wǒmen hǎo?
