On a sleepy summer afternoon, a White Rabbit with a pocket watch runs past Alice, and she follows him straight down a very deep hole.

- Narrator 一个夏天的下午，天气很热。爱丽丝和姐姐坐在河边的草地上。
Yí gè xiàtiān de xiàwǔ, tiānqì hěn rè. Àilìsī hé jiějie zuò zài hébiān de cǎodì shang.
One summer afternoon, it was very hot. Alice and her sister were sitting on the grass by the river.
- Alice 姐姐，你的书里一张图画也没有，一句对话也没有。这有什么意思呢？
Jiějie, nǐ de shū lǐ yì zhāng túhuà yě méiyǒu, yí jù duìhuà yě méiyǒu. Zhè yǒu shénme yìsi ne?
Your book doesn't have a single picture in it, or a single conversation. What's the point of a book like that?
- Alice's Sister 这是大人看的书。爱丽丝，别说话，让我好好看书。
Zhè shì dàrén kàn de shū. Àilìsī, bié shuōhuà, ràng wǒ hǎohǎo kàn shū.
It's a book for grown-ups. Hush, Alice, and let me read in peace.
- Alice 好无聊啊……真希望能发生一点儿好玩儿的事！
Hǎo wúliáo a… Zhēn xīwàng néng fāshēng yìdiǎnr hǎowánr de shì!
I'm so bored… I wish something fun would happen!
- Narrator 就在这时候，一只红眼睛的白兔，从她身边跑了过去。
Jiù zài zhè shíhou, yì zhī hóng yǎnjing de Bái Tù, cóng tā shēnbiān pǎo le guòqù.
Just then, a White Rabbit with pink eyes ran right past her.
- White Rabbit 哎呀！哎呀！我要迟到了！要迟到了！
Āiyā! Āiyā! Wǒ yào chídào le! Yào chídào le!
Oh dear! Oh dear! I'm going to be late! I'm going to be late!
- Alice 一只白兔会说话？……好吧，这好像也不算太奇怪。
Yì zhī Bái Tù huì shuōhuà?… Hǎo ba, zhè hǎoxiàng yě bú suàn tài qíguài.
A rabbit that talks?… Well, I suppose that isn't all that strange.
- Narrator 可是，白兔从口袋里拿出一块怀表，看了一眼，跑得更快了。
Kěshì, Bái Tù cóng kǒudai lǐ náchū yí kuài huáibiǎo, kàn le yì yǎn, pǎo de gèng kuài le.
But then the White Rabbit took a watch out of his pocket, glanced at it, and ran even faster.
- Alice 什么？他还穿着衣服，还有怀表？我从来没见过这样的白兔！
Shénme? Tā hái chuānzhe yīfu, hái yǒu huáibiǎo? Wǒ cónglái méi jiàn guo zhèyàng de Bái Tù!
What? He's wearing clothes, and he has a pocket watch? I've never seen a rabbit like that!
- Alice 白兔先生，等等我！你要去哪儿？
Bái Tù xiānsheng, děngdeng wǒ! Nǐ yào qù nǎr?
Mr. Rabbit, wait for me! Where are you going?
- Narrator 白兔跳进了大树下面的一个兔子洞。爱丽丝想也没想，也跟着跳了进去。
Bái Tù tiào jìn le dà shù xiàmiàn de yí gè tùzi dòng. Àilìsī xiǎng yě méi xiǎng, yě gēnzhe tiào le jìnqù.
The White Rabbit jumped into a rabbit hole under a big tree. Without a second thought, Alice jumped in after him.
- Alice 啊！这个兔子洞怎么这么深？我一直在往下掉，一直在往下掉……
A! Zhège tùzi dòng zěnme zhème shēn? Wǒ yìzhí zài wǎng xià diào, yìzhí zài wǎng xià diào…
Aaah! How can this rabbit hole be so deep? I'm falling and falling and falling…
- Alice 我会不会穿过地球，掉到另一边去？那边的人，是不是都头朝下走路？
Wǒ huì bu huì chuānguò dìqiú, diào dào lìng yì biān qù? Nà biān de rén, shì bu shì dōu tóu cháo xià zǒulù?
Will I fall right through the earth and out the other side? Do the people over there all walk upside down?
- Alice 以后在家里从楼梯上掉下来，我一点儿也不怕了！大家一定会说我很勇敢！
Yǐhòu zài jiā lǐ cóng lóutī shang diào xiàlái, wǒ yìdiǎnr yě bú pà le! Dàjiā yídìng huì shuō wǒ hěn yǒnggǎn!
After this, falling down the stairs at home won't scare me one bit! Everyone will say how brave I am!
- Alice 黛娜今天晚上会想我吗？我的小猫，要是你也在这儿就好了……
Dàinà jīntiān wǎnshang huì xiǎng wǒ ma? Wǒ de xiǎo māo, yàoshi nǐ yě zài zhèr jiù hǎo le…
Will Dinah miss me tonight? Oh, my little cat, I wish you were down here with me…
- Narrator 砰！爱丽丝掉在一大堆树叶上，一点儿也没受伤。
Pēng! Àilìsī diào zài yí dà duī shùyè shang, yìdiǎnr yě méi shòushāng.
Thump! Alice landed on a big heap of leaves, not hurt one bit.
- White Rabbit 哎呀，我的耳朵和胡子啊！太晚了，太晚了！
Āiyā, wǒ de ěrduo hé húzi a! Tài wǎn le, tài wǎn le!
Oh, my ears and whiskers! It's so late, so late!
- Narrator 白兔一转弯，就看不见了。爱丽丝来到一个长长的大厅，四面都是门。
Bái Tù yì zhuǎnwān, jiù kàn bu jiàn le. Àilìsī lái dào yí gè chángcháng de dàtīng, sìmiàn dōu shì mén.
The White Rabbit turned a corner and was gone. Alice found herself in a long, long hall with doors all around it.
- Alice 这个门打不开，那个门也打不开……咦，玻璃桌子上有一把小小的金钥匙！
Zhège mén dǎ bu kāi, nàge mén yě dǎ bu kāi… Yí, bōli zhuōzi shang yǒu yì bǎ xiǎoxiǎo de jīn yàoshi!
This door won't open, and that one won't either… Oh! There's a tiny golden key on that glass table!
- Alice 可是钥匙太小了，哪个门也打不开。等一下，窗帘后面还有一个小门！
Kěshì yàoshi tài xiǎo le, nǎge mén yě dǎ bu kāi. Děng yíxià, chuānglián hòumiàn hái yǒu yí gè xiǎo mén!
But the key's too small for any of them. Wait, there's one more little door behind the curtain!
- Alice 开了！门外面有一个花园，是我见过的最美的花园！
Kāi le! Mén wàimiàn yǒu yí gè huāyuán, shì wǒ jiàn guo de zuì měi de huāyuán!
It opened! There's a garden outside, the loveliest garden I've ever seen!
- Alice 可是门太小了，我连头都过不去。唉，要是我能变小就好了！
Kěshì mén tài xiǎo le, wǒ lián tóu dōu guò bu qù. Āi, yàoshi wǒ néng biàn xiǎo jiù hǎo le!
But the door's so small I can't even get my head through. Oh, if only I could get smaller!
- Narrator 她回到桌子旁边。桌子上多了一个小瓶子，上面写着“喝我”。
Tā huí dào zhuōzi pángbiān. Zhuōzi shang duō le yí gè xiǎo píngzi, shàngmiàn xiězhe “Hē wǒ”.
She went back to the table. Now there was a little bottle on it, with a label that said “DRINK ME.”
- Alice 先别急。瓶子上有没有写“毒药”？……没有！好，那我就喝一小口。
Xiān bié jí. Píngzi shang yǒu méiyǒu xiě “dúyào”?… Méiyǒu! Hǎo, nà wǒ jiù hē yì xiǎo kǒu.
Not so fast. Does the bottle say “poison” anywhere?… No! All right, then I'll just take a sip.
- Alice 真好喝！有水果蛋糕的味道，有烤鸡的味道，还有黄油面包的味道……
Zhēn hǎohē! Yǒu shuǐguǒ dàngāo de wèidao, yǒu kǎojī de wèidao, hái yǒu huángyóu miànbāo de wèidao…
Delicious! It tastes like fruit cake, and roast chicken, and bread and butter…
- Alice 哎呀，我在变小！越来越小……现在，我跟一只小猫差不多高了！
Āiyā, wǒ zài biàn xiǎo! Yuè lái yuè xiǎo… Xiànzài, wǒ gēn yì zhī xiǎo māo chàbuduō gāo le!
Oh my, I'm shrinking! Smaller and smaller… Now I'm about as tall as a kitten!
- Alice 太好了，现在我正好能进那个小门！花园，我来了！
Tài hǎo le, xiànzài wǒ zhènghǎo néng jìn nàge xiǎo mén! Huāyuán, wǒ lái le!
Perfect, now I'm just the right size for the little door! Garden, here I come!
- Alice 等等……钥匙呢？天哪，钥匙还在桌子上！桌子那么高，我怎么拿得到？
Děngdeng… Yàoshi ne? Tiān na, yàoshi hái zài zhuōzi shang! Zhuōzi nàme gāo, wǒ zěnme ná de dào?
Wait… where's the key? Oh no, it's still up on the table! The table's so high, how will I ever reach it?
- Alice 爱丽丝，别哭了！哭有什么用？……咦，桌子下面有一个玻璃小盒子。
Àilìsī, bié kū le! Kū yǒu shénme yòng?… Yí, zhuōzi xiàmiàn yǒu yí gè bōli xiǎo hézi.
Alice, stop crying this minute! What good will crying do?… Oh, there's a little glass box under the table.
- Alice 里面有一块小蛋糕，上面写着“吃我”。好吧，我就吃一口，看看会怎么样！
Lǐmiàn yǒu yí kuài xiǎo dàngāo, shàngmiàn xiězhe “Chī wǒ”. Hǎo ba, wǒ jiù chī yì kǒu, kànkan huì zěnmeyàng!
There's a tiny cake inside, and it says “EAT ME.” All right, I'll take one bite and see what happens!
- Alice 咦？我的脚……怎么离我越来越远了？
Yí? Wǒ de jiǎo… zěnme lí wǒ yuè lái yuè yuǎn le?
Huh? My feet… why are they getting farther and farther away?
