Chinese Speaking Practice PDFs
By Mei Lin
These free PDFs are daily plans for saying Chinese out loud, written for beginners who want to speak before they tackle characters. Each day is one short exchange to learn, say and change so it fits your own life.
Start at day one and carry on to day 90, one book after another. If you have a goal in mind, pick a 14-day plan for work, travel, small talk or studying abroad instead. Days 31 to 90 and the 14-day plans have free audio, so you can repeat each line.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a free Chinese speaking practice PDF for beginners?
Yes. Your First 14 Days of Spoken Mandarin starts from hello and needs no Chinese. By day 14 you can introduce yourself, order a drink and food, ask the way and hold a short first conversation.
In what order should I use these books?
Your First 14 Days, then Days 15–30, Days 31–60, Days 61–75 and Days 76–90. The 60-day course is the first three in one 166-page PDF. The four 14-day plans stand alone, so you can use one at any point.
Do they have audio?
Days 31–60, 61–75 and 76–90 and the four 14-day plans have free audio, which reads each line with a pause to say it back. Your First 14 Days has free online practice with computer-voice audio on its page. The Days 15–30 PDF has no audio, and every line has pinyin with tone marks.
How long does it take each day?
About 20 minutes a day in the first books: a Learn page with a few lines to say, then a Practice page to write and say your own. The 14-day plans are one page a day: play the audio, say each line in the pause, then say the first line without looking.
Can I practise speaking Chinese without a partner?
Yes, these books are written for one person. Say every line out loud, change the details so they fit your life, and record yourself once a week to hear the difference.
