The Pool of Tears
眼泪池
Alice grows so tall that her head bumps the ceiling, and she cries until her tears make a pool, just as the White Rabbit comes hurrying back.

- Alice 再见了，我的脚！你们离我这么远，以后谁给你们穿鞋呢？
Zàijiàn le, wǒ de jiǎo! Nǐmen lí wǒ zhème yuǎn, yǐhòu shéi gěi nǐmen chuān xié ne?
Goodbye, feet! You're so far away now. Who's going to put your shoes on for you?
- Alice 我得对它们好一点儿，不然它们不走我想走的路。圣诞节我给它们寄一双新鞋吧！
Wǒ děi duì tāmen hǎo yìdiǎnr, bùrán tāmen bù zǒu wǒ xiǎng zǒu de lù. Shèngdànjié wǒ gěi tāmen jì yì shuāng xīn xié ba!
I'd better be nice to them, or they won't walk where I want to go. I'll send them a new pair of shoes for Christmas!
- Alice 地址就写：“爱丽丝的右脚收”。哈哈，我在说什么傻话呀！
Dìzhǐ jiù xiě: “Àilìsī de yòu jiǎo shōu”. Hāhā, wǒ zài shuō shénme shǎhuà ya!
I'll address it “To Alice's Right Foot.” Ha ha, what nonsense I'm talking!
- Narrator 咚！她的头碰到了大厅的屋顶。现在，她差不多有三米高了。
Dōng! Tā de tóu pèng dào le dàtīng de wūdǐng. Xiànzài, tā chàbuduō yǒu sān mǐ gāo le.
Bump! Her head hit the ceiling of the hall. By now she was nearly ten feet tall.
- Alice 太好了，这下我能拿到钥匙了！
Tài hǎo le, zhè xià wǒ néng ná dào yàoshi le!
Great, now I can reach the key!
- Narrator 她拿起金钥匙，打开了小门。可是她只能躺在地上，用一只眼睛往花园里看。
Tā ná qǐ jīn yàoshi, dǎkāi le xiǎo mén. Kěshì tā zhǐ néng tǎng zài dì shang, yòng yì zhī yǎnjing wǎng huāyuán lǐ kàn.
She took the golden key and unlocked the little door. But all she could do was lie on the floor and peer into the garden with one eye.
- Alice 我太大了，根本进不去！呜呜呜……
Wǒ tài dà le, gēnběn jìn bu qù! Wūwūwū…
I'm much too big, I'll never get in! Boo-hoo-hoo…
- Alice 爱丽丝！你这么大的女孩子了，还哭！快停下来！
Àilìsī! Nǐ zhème dà de nǚháizi le, hái kū! Kuài tíng xiàlái!
Alice! A big girl like you, crying! Stop it this minute!
- Alice 说得对，我现在真的是一个很大很大的女孩子……可是我停不下来呀！
Shuō de duì, wǒ xiànzài zhēn de shì yí gè hěn dà hěn dà de nǚháizi… Kěshì wǒ tíng bu xiàlái ya!
That's true, I really am a very, very big girl now… but I just can't stop!
- Narrator 她哭了又哭，大颗大颗的眼泪流到地上，变成了一个大水池。
Tā kū le yòu kū, dà kē dà kē de yǎnlèi liú dào dì shang, biànchéng le yí gè dà shuǐchí.
She cried and cried, and her great big tears ran down onto the floor until they made a large pool.
- Alice 咦，有脚步声！是谁来了？
Yí, yǒu jiǎobùshēng! Shì shéi lái le?
Oh, footsteps! Who's coming?
- White Rabbit 哎呀，公爵夫人！公爵夫人！我又迟到了！我让她等了这么久，她一定会气坏的！
Āiyā, gōngjué fūrén! Gōngjué fūrén! Wǒ yòu chídào le! Wǒ ràng tā děng le zhème jiǔ, tā yídìng huì qì huài de!
Oh dear, the Duchess! The Duchess! I'm late again! I've kept her waiting so long, she'll be furious!
- Alice 先生……对不起，您能帮帮我吗？
Xiānsheng… duìbuqǐ, nín néng bāngbang wǒ ma?
Sir… excuse me, could you please help me?
- White Rabbit 啊！巨人！有巨人！
A! Jùrén! Yǒu jùrén!
Aaah! A giant! A giant!
- Narrator 白兔吓得跳了起来，扔下白手套和扇子，头也不回地跑了。
Bái Tù xià de tiào le qǐlái, rēng xià bái shǒutào hé shànzi, tóu yě bù huí de pǎo le.
The White Rabbit leaped into the air in fright, dropped his white gloves and his fan, and ran off without looking back.
- Alice 他的手套和扇子掉在地上了……我先帮他拿着吧。
Tā de shǒutào hé shànzi diào zài dì shang le… Wǒ xiān bāng tā názhe ba.
He's dropped his gloves and fan… I'll hold on to them for him.
- Alice 这里好热……今天怎么什么都这么奇怪？昨天，一切都还很正常啊。
Zhèlǐ hǎo rè… Jīntiān zěnme shénme dōu zhème qíguài? Zuótiān, yíqiè dōu hái hěn zhèngcháng a.
It's so hot in here… Why is everything so strange today? Yesterday everything was perfectly normal.
- Alice 难道我在夜里变成了别人？如果我不是我，那我到底是谁呢？这可是个大问题！
Nándào wǒ zài yè lǐ biànchéng le biérén? Rúguǒ wǒ bú shì wǒ, nà wǒ dàodǐ shì shéi ne? Zhè kě shì ge dà wèntí!
Could I have turned into somebody else in the night? But if I'm not me, then who in the world am I? Now that's the real puzzle!
- Alice 我会不会变成了班上的梅布尔？不会，不会！梅布尔什么都不懂，我可不想当她！
Wǒ huì bu huì biànchéng le bān shang de Méibù'ěr? Bú huì, bú huì! Méibù'ěr shénme dōu bù dǒng, wǒ kě bù xiǎng dāng tā!
Have I turned into Mabel from school? No, no! Mabel doesn't know anything, and I certainly don't want to be her!
- Alice 咦？我怎么又变小了？……是这把扇子！快扔掉！
Yí? Wǒ zěnme yòu biàn xiǎo le?… Shì zhè bǎ shànzi! Kuài rēngdiào!
Huh? Why am I shrinking again?… It's this fan! Throw it away, quick!
- Narrator 她马上扔下扇子。再晚一点儿，她就要小得看不见了。
Tā mǎshàng rēng xià shànzi. Zài wǎn yìdiǎnr, tā jiù yào xiǎo de kàn bu jiàn le.
She dropped the fan at once. A moment later, and she would have shrunk away to nothing.
- Alice 好了，现在可以去花园了！……哎呀，小门又关上了，钥匙又在桌子上！
Hǎo le, xiànzài kěyǐ qù huāyuán le!… Āiyā, xiǎo mén yòu guān shàng le, yàoshi yòu zài zhuōzi shang!
Now I can go into the garden!… Oh no, the little door's shut again, and the key's back up on the table!
- Alice 这比刚才还糟糕！……啊！
Zhè bǐ gāngcái hái zāogāo!… A!
This is even worse than before!… Aaah!
- Narrator 扑通！爱丽丝脚下一滑，掉进了咸咸的水里。水一直到她的下巴。
Pūtōng! Àilìsī jiǎo xià yì huá, diào jìn le xiánxián de shuǐ lǐ. Shuǐ yìzhí dào tā de xiàba.
Splash! Alice's foot slipped, and she fell into salty water that came right up to her chin.
- Alice 这是大海吗？……不对，这是我的眼泪！早知道，我就不哭那么多了！
Zhè shì dàhǎi ma?… Bú duì, zhè shì wǒ de yǎnlèi! Zǎo zhīdào, wǒ jiù bù kū nàme duō le!
Is this the sea?… No, it's my own tears! If I'd known, I wouldn't have cried so much!
- Alice 在自己的眼泪里游泳……这是世界上最奇怪的事了！
Zài zìjǐ de yǎnlèi lǐ yóuyǒng… zhè shì shìjiè shang zuì qíguài de shì le!
Swimming in my own tears… that must be the strangest thing in the whole world!
- Alice 等等……那边有个东西，正在向我游过来。好大啊！
Děngdeng… nà biān yǒu ge dōngxi, zhèngzài xiàng wǒ yóu guòlái. Hǎo dà a!
Wait… something over there is swimming toward me. It's huge!
- Alice 它是什么？它……会不会咬人？
Tā shì shénme? Tā… huì bu huì yǎo rén?
