Yī bā qī èr nián, Lúndūn. Gǎigé Jùlèbù lǐ, yí wèi ānjìng de xiānsheng zuò zài dēng xià. Tā jiào Fúgé.
London, 1872. In the Reform Club, a quiet gentleman sat under the lamp. His name was Fogg.
- Mr. Stuart 福格先生，你看今天的报纸了吗？英国银行的钱被人偷了，一共五万五千英镑！
Fúgé xiānsheng, nǐ kàn jīntiān de bàozhǐ le ma? Yīngguó yínháng de qián bèi rén tōu le, yígòng wǔ wàn wǔ qiān yīngbàng!
Mr. Fogg, have you seen today's paper? Someone robbed the Bank of England, fifty-five thousand pounds in all!
- Phileas Fogg 我看了。小偷现在可能已经坐上船，离开英国了。
Wǒ kàn le. Xiǎotōu xiànzài kěnéng yǐjīng zuò shàng chuán, líkāi Yīngguó le.
I saw. The thief has probably boarded a ship and left England by now.
- Mr. Stuart 那他就跑远了。世界这么大，他可以躲在任何一个地方。
Nà tā jiù pǎo yuǎn le. Shìjiè zhème dà, tā kěyǐ duǒ zài rènhé yí gè dìfang.
Then he's long gone. The world is so big he can hide anywhere at all.
- Phileas Fogg 世界并不大。现在有火车，有轮船，人走得很快。
Shìjiè bìng bú dà. Xiànzài yǒu huǒchē, yǒu lúnchuán, rén zǒu de hěn kuài.
The world isn't big. Now there are trains and steamships, and people travel fast.
- Mr. Stuart 很快？那你说说看，环游地球要多少天？
Hěn kuài? Nà nǐ shuōshuo kàn, huányóu dìqiú yào duōshao tiān?
Fast? Then tell us, how many days does it take to go around the world?
- Phileas Fogg 八十天。
Bāshí tiān.
Eighty days.
- Mr. Stuart 八十天？！你在开玩笑吧！这不可能！
Bāshí tiān?! Nǐ zài kāi wánxiào ba! Zhè bù kěnéng!
Eighty days?! You must be joking! That's impossible!
- Phileas Fogg 我可以。我愿意用两万英镑，和你们打赌。
Wǒ kěyǐ. Wǒ yuànyì yòng liǎng wàn yīngbàng, hé nǐmen dǎdǔ.
I can do it. I'm willing to bet you twenty thousand pounds.
- Mr. Stuart 两万英镑！福格先生，你真的是认真的吗？
Liǎng wàn yīngbàng! Fúgé xiānsheng, nǐ zhēn de shì rènzhēn de ma?
Twenty thousand pounds! Mr. Fogg, are you really serious?
- Phileas Fogg 我从不开玩笑。今天是十月二号。我今天晚上八点四十五分出发。
Wǒ cóngbù kāi wánxiào. Jīntiān shì shíyuè èr hào. Wǒ jīntiān wǎnshang bā diǎn sìshíwǔ fēn chūfā.
I never joke. Today is October second. I leave tonight at a quarter to nine.
- Mr. Stuart 你一个人去吗？没有人跟你一起走吗？
Nǐ yí gè rén qù ma? Méiyǒu rén gēn nǐ yìqǐ zǒu ma?
Are you going alone? Won't anyone go with you?
- Phileas Fogg 我带上我新来的仆人。他今天早上才到我家。
Wǒ dàishàng wǒ xīn lái de púrén. Tā jīntiān zǎoshang cái dào wǒ jiā.
I'm taking my new servant. He only arrived at my house this morning.
- Mr. Stuart 好！十二月二十一号晚上八点四十五分，你必须回到这个俱乐部！
Hǎo! Shí'èryuè èrshíyī hào wǎnshang bā diǎn sìshíwǔ fēn, nǐ bìxū huídào zhège jùlèbù!
Fine! On the evening of December twenty-first, at a quarter to nine, you must be back in this club!
- Phileas Fogg 晚一分钟，我的钱就都是你们的了。
Wǎn yì fēnzhōng, wǒ de qián jiù dōu shì nǐmen de le.
If I'm even one minute late, all my money is yours.
- Passepartout 先生，我叫路路通。我做过很多工作，现在只想过安静的日子。
Xiānsheng, wǒ jiào Lùlùtōng. Wǒ zuò guò hěn duō gōngzuò, xiànzài zhǐ xiǎng guò ānjìng de rìzi.
Sir, my name is Passepartout. I've done many jobs, and now I only want a quiet life.
- Phileas Fogg 这里很安静。可是我的规矩很多。洗脸的水要三十度，差一度也不行。
Zhèlǐ hěn ānjìng. Kěshì wǒ de guījǔ hěn duō. Xǐliǎn de shuǐ yào sānshí dù, chà yí dù yě bùxíng.
It's quiet here. But I have many rules. My washing water must be thirty degrees, not one degree off.
- Passepartout 三十度，没问题！我的手，就是一只最好的温度计！
Sānshí dù, méi wèntí! Wǒ de shǒu, jiùshì yì zhī zuìhǎo de wēndùjì!
Thirty degrees, no problem! My hand is the best thermometer there is!
- Phileas Fogg 很好。上一个仆人，就因为水差了两度，才走的。
Hěn hǎo. Shàng yí gè púrén, jiù yīnwèi shuǐ chà le liǎng dù, cái zǒu de.
Good. My last servant left because the water was two degrees off.
- Phileas Fogg 现在是八点三十五分。十分钟以后，我们就要出发。
Xiànzài shì bā diǎn sānshíwǔ fēn. Shí fēnzhōng yǐhòu, wǒmen jiùyào chūfā.
It is 8:35 now. In ten minutes we leave.
- Passepartout 出发？先生，我们要去哪儿？要去几天？
Chūfā? Xiānsheng, wǒmen yào qù nǎr? Yào qù jǐ tiān?
Leave? Sir, where are we going? For how many days?
- Phileas Fogg 我们要环游地球，一共八十天。
Wǒmen yào huányóu dìqiú, yígòng bāshí tiān.
We're going around the world, eighty days in all.
- Passepartout 环……环游地球？！今天晚上就走？！
Huán… Huányóu dìqiú?! Jīntiān wǎnshang jiù zǒu?!
Around... around the world?! We leave tonight?!
- Phileas Fogg 对。行李不用带太多，路上什么东西都可以买。
Duì. Xínglǐ búyòng dài tài duō, lùshàng shénme dōngxi dōu kěyǐ mǎi.
Yes. Don't bring much luggage. You can buy anything you need on the road.
- Passepartout 可是……我的衣服……我的鞋……我的家……
Kěshì… Wǒ de yīfu… Wǒ de xié… Wǒ de jiā…
But... my clothes... my shoes... my home...
- Phileas Fogg 路路通，你想要安静的日子，还是想去看看世界？
Lùlùtōng, nǐ xiǎngyào ānjìng de rìzi, háishi xiǎng qù kàn kan shìjiè?
Passepartout, do you want a quiet life, or do you want to go and see the world?
- Passepartout 看世界……好吧！我跟您去！我一定会好好做事！
Kàn shìjiè… Hǎo ba! Wǒ gēn nín qù! Wǒ yídìng huì hǎohǎo zuòshì!
See the world... All right! I'll go with you! I'll do my job well!
- Phileas Fogg 很好。车来了。晚一分钟，我们就输了。
Hěn hǎo. Chē lái le. Wǎn yì fēnzhōng, wǒmen jiù shū le.
Good. The carriage is here. One minute late, and we lose.
- Passepartout 等一等，先生！我房间里的煤气灯还开着！它要烧八十天了！
Děng yi děng, xiānsheng! Wǒ fángjiān lǐ de méiqìdēng hái kāi zhe! Tā yào shāo bāshí tiān le!
Wait, sir! The gas lamp in my room is still on! It will burn for eighty days!
