Little Red Riding Hood sets off with cake for her sick grandma and a list of rules from Mom. Then a very polite wolf steps onto the path.

- Narrator 很久很久以前，森林旁边住着一个小女孩。
Hěn jiǔ hěn jiǔ yǐqián, sēnlín pángbiān zhùzhe yí gè xiǎo nǚhái.
Long, long ago, a little girl lived at the edge of a forest.
- Narrator 奶奶给她做了一顶红帽子，大家都叫她小红帽。
Nǎinai gěi tā zuò le yì dǐng hóng màozi, dàjiā dōu jiào tā Xiǎo Hóngmào.
Her grandma had made her a little red hood, so everyone called her Little Red Riding Hood.
- Little Red Riding Hood 妈妈，你看！我的红帽子好看吗？
Māma, nǐ kàn! Wǒ de hóng màozi hǎokàn ma?
Mom, look! Isn't my red hood pretty?
- Mother 好看，好看！小红帽，奶奶病了。
Hǎokàn, hǎokàn! Xiǎo Hóngmào, nǎinai bìng le.
Very pretty! Little Red Riding Hood, Grandma is sick.
- Little Red Riding Hood 奶奶病了？那我去看她！我现在就去！
Nǎinai bìng le? Nà wǒ qù kàn tā! Wǒ xiànzài jiù qù!
Grandma's sick? Then I'll go and see her! I'll go right now!
- Mother 好孩子。这是蛋糕和一瓶酒，给奶奶带去。
Hǎo háizi. Zhè shì dàngāo hé yì píng jiǔ, gěi nǎinai dài qù.
That's my girl. Here's some cake and a bottle of wine. Take them to Grandma.
- Mother 记住：走大路，不要跑，不要离开大路！
Jìzhù: zǒu dàlù, búyào pǎo, búyào líkāi dàlù!
Remember: stay on the big path. Don't run, and don't leave the path!
- Mother 到了奶奶家，先说“奶奶，早上好”。
Dào le nǎinai jiā, xiān shuō “Nǎinai, zǎoshang hǎo”.
And when you get to Grandma's, say “Good morning, Grandma” first.
- Little Red Riding Hood 我记住了！走大路，不跑，先说早上好！
Wǒ jìzhù le! Zǒu dàlù, bù pǎo, xiān shuō zǎoshang hǎo!
I'll remember! Stay on the path, don't run, and say good morning first!
- Little Red Riding Hood 还有……路上不吃奶奶的蛋糕！
Háiyǒu… lùshang bù chī nǎinai de dàngāo!
And… no eating Grandma's cake on the way!
- Mother 对，一口也不吃！快去吧！
Duì, yì kǒu yě bù chī! Kuài qù ba!
That's right, not one bite! Now off you go!
- Narrator 小红帽拿着篮子，走进了森林。
Xiǎo Hóngmào názhe lánzi, zǒujìn le sēnlín.
Little Red Riding Hood took the basket and walked into the forest.
- Little Red Riding Hood 走大路，不跑……森林里真好看！
Zǒu dàlù, bù pǎo… sēnlín lǐ zhēn hǎokàn!
Stay on the path, don't run… The forest is so pretty!
- The Big Gray Wolf 小朋友，早上好！
Xiǎopéngyou, zǎoshang hǎo!
Good morning, little one!
- Little Red Riding Hood 早上好！我是小红帽。你是谁？
Zǎoshang hǎo! Wǒ shì Xiǎo Hóngmào. Nǐ shì shéi?
Good morning! I'm Little Red Riding Hood. Who are you?
- The Big Gray Wolf 我是大灰狼。你这么早，去哪儿啊？
Wǒ shì Dà Huīláng. Nǐ zhème zǎo, qù nǎr a?
I'm the Big Gray Wolf. Where are you off to so early?
- Little Red Riding Hood 我去奶奶家。奶奶病了。
Wǒ qù nǎinai jiā. Nǎinai bìng le.
To my grandma's house. Grandma is sick.
- The Big Gray Wolf 篮子里是什么？好香啊！
Lánzi lǐ shì shénme? Hǎo xiāng a!
What's in the basket? It smells delicious!
- Little Red Riding Hood 是蛋糕和酒，给奶奶的。
Shì dàngāo hé jiǔ, gěi nǎinai de.
Cake and wine, for Grandma.
- The Big Gray Wolf 给我吃一口，就一口，好不好？我肚子好饿啊！
Gěi wǒ chī yì kǒu, jiù yì kǒu, hǎo bù hǎo? Wǒ dùzi hǎo è a!
Give me a bite, just one bite, won't you? My tummy's so empty!
- Little Red Riding Hood 不行！一口也不行！这是奶奶的蛋糕！
Bù xíng! Yì kǒu yě bù xíng! Zhè shì nǎinai de dàngāo!
No way! Not one bite! This is Grandma's cake!
- The Big Gray Wolf 好，好，不吃，不吃。那……奶奶住在哪儿？
Hǎo, hǎo, bù chī, bù chī. Nà… nǎinai zhù zài nǎr?
All right, all right, no cake for me. So… where does your grandma live?
- Little Red Riding Hood 森林里边，三棵大树下边，有一个小房子。
Sēnlín lǐbian, sān kē dà shù xiàbian, yǒu yí gè xiǎo fángzi.
Deep in the forest, under three big trees, there's a little house.
- The Big Gray Wolf 一个小朋友，一个老奶奶……两个我都要吃！
Yí gè xiǎopéngyou, yí gè lǎo nǎinai… liǎng gè wǒ dōu yào chī!
A little girl and an old granny… I'll eat them both!
- The Big Gray Wolf 小红帽，你看，那边的花多漂亮！你听，小鸟在唱歌！
Xiǎo Hóngmào, nǐ kàn, nàbiān de huā duō piàoliang! Nǐ tīng, xiǎoniǎo zài chànggē!
Little Red Riding Hood, look how pretty the flowers are over there! And listen, the birds are singing!
- Little Red Riding Hood 真漂亮！可是妈妈说，不要离开大路……
Zhēn piàoliang! Kěshì māma shuō, búyào líkāi dàlù…
They're beautiful! But Mom said not to leave the path…
- The Big Gray Wolf 你走得太快了！慢一点儿，看看花吧。
Nǐ zǒu de tài kuài le! Màn yìdiǎnr, kànkan huā ba.
You're walking much too fast! Slow down and look at the flowers.
- Little Red Riding Hood 奶奶喜欢花……我给她摘一点儿花，就一会儿！
Nǎinai xǐhuan huā… wǒ gěi tā zhāi yìdiǎnr huā, jiù yíhuìr!
Grandma loves flowers… I'll pick her a few. Just for a minute!
- The Big Gray Wolf 去吧，去吧……我先去奶奶家！
Qù ba, qù ba… wǒ xiān qù nǎinai jiā!
Off you go, off you go… and I'll get to Grandma's house first!
