Four hungry girls must decide what to do with their Christmas breakfast, and that night a surprise comes from someone nobody expected.

Good thing you came back early, we haven't eaten yet!
- Narrator 圣诞节早上，她们拿着早饭，走在雪里。
Shèngdànjié zǎoshang, tāmen názhe zǎofàn, zǒu zài xuě li.
On Christmas morning, they carried the breakfast out through the snow.
- Amy 好冷！妈妈，还很远吗？
Hǎo lěng! Māma, hái hěn yuǎn ma?
It's so cold! Marmee, is it much farther?
- Marmee 不远了，就在前边。
Bù yuǎn le, jiù zài qiánbiān.
Not far now. It's just up ahead.
- Narrator 胡梅尔太太的家又小又冷。她病了，在床上。
Húméi'ěr tàitai de jiā yòu xiǎo yòu lěng. Tā bìng le, zài chuáng shang.
Mrs. Hummel's home was small and cold. She was sick in bed.
- Beth 宝宝在哭……他们比我们还穷，好可怜。
Bǎobǎo zài kū… tāmen bǐ wǒmen hái qióng, hǎo kělián.
The baby's crying... They're even poorer than we are. The poor things.
- Jo 汉娜生好火了！孩子们，快坐到火边来！
Hànnà shēng hǎo huǒ le! Háizimen, kuài zuò dào huǒ biān lái!
Hannah's got the fire going! Come on, children, sit by the fire!
- Marmee 胡梅尔太太，别哭了。有火了，也有吃的了。
Húméi'ěr tàitai, bié kū le. Yǒu huǒ le, yě yǒu chī de le.
Don't cry, Mrs. Hummel. There's a fire now, and food too.
- Amy 你们听！孩子们叫我们“天使”！
Nǐmen tīng! Háizimen jiào wǒmen “tiānshǐ”!
Listen! The children are calling us “angels”!
- Jo 天使？我？这还是第一次！
Tiānshǐ? Wǒ? Zhè háishi dì yī cì!
An angel? Me? That's a first!
- Narrator 回到家，她们自己吃面包，喝牛奶。
Huí dào jiā, tāmen zìjǐ chī miànbāo, hē niúnǎi.
Back home, they had bread and milk themselves.
- Beth 这是最好的圣诞节早饭了。
Zhè shì zuì hǎo de shèngdànjié zǎofàn le.
This is the best Christmas breakfast ever.
- Jo 对！我们是最快乐的人！
Duì! Wǒmen shì zuì kuàilè de rén!
Yes! We're the happiest people around!
- Amy 妈妈，这是我们给你的礼物！
Māma, zhè shì wǒmen gěi nǐ de lǐwù!
Marmee, these are our presents for you!
- Marmee 手套！还有新鞋！谢谢你们，我的好女儿们。
Shǒutào! Hái yǒu xīn xié! Xièxie nǐmen, wǒ de hǎo nǚ'érmen.
Gloves! And new shoes! Thank you, my good girls.
- Narrator 那天晚上，有人送来了很多好吃的，还有花。
Nà tiān wǎnshang, yǒu rén sònglai le hěn duō hǎochī de, hái yǒu huā.
That night, someone sent over lots of good things to eat, and flowers too.
- Amy 这么多好吃的！是谁送的？
Zhème duō hǎochī de! Shì shéi sòng de?
So many good things! Who sent them?
- Marmee 是旁边的劳伦斯先生。他以前认识我爸爸。
Shì pángbiān de Láolúnsī xiānsheng. Tā yǐqián rènshi wǒ bàba.
Mr. Laurence next door. He knew my father long ago.
- Meg 劳伦斯先生？他很有钱，也很骄傲，不跟邻居说话的！
Láolúnsī xiānsheng? Tā hěn yǒu qián, yě hěn jiāo'ào, bù gēn línjū shuōhuà de!
Mr. Laurence? He's rich and proud, and never talks to his neighbors!
- Jo 我知道！一定是他家的那个男孩说的。
Wǒ zhīdào! Yídìng shì tā jiā de nàge nánhái shuō de.
I know! That boy of his must have told him.
- Beth 你认识他吗？
Nǐ rènshi tā ma?
You know him?
- Jo 我们的猫跑了，是他送回来的。我们还说了话呢！
Wǒmen de māo pǎo le, shì tā sòng huílai de. Wǒmen hái shuō le huà ne!
When our cat ran off, he brought her back. We even had a talk!
- Meg 乔！你怎么跟不认识的男孩子说话？
Qiáo! Nǐ zěnme gēn bú rènshi de nánháizi shuōhuà?
Jo! How could you talk to a boy you don't know?
- Jo 他把猫送回来了，我能不说“谢谢”吗？
Tā bǎ māo sòng huílai le, wǒ néng bù shuō “xièxie” ma?
He brought the cat back. What was I supposed to do, not say “thank you”?
- Beth 你们看，他一个人在窗户那儿。他好像不快乐。
Nǐmen kàn, tā yí gè rén zài chuānghu nàr. Tā hǎoxiàng bú kuàilè.
Look, he's all alone at the window. He doesn't look happy.
- Jo 他应该多笑一笑。我一定要认识那个男孩！
Tā yīnggāi duō xiào yi xiào. Wǒ yídìng yào rènshi nàge nánhái!
He ought to laugh more. I'm going to get to know that boy!
