- Jo 对！我写了好几年，要等爸爸回家给他看。我就有那一本！
Duì! Wǒ xiě le hǎo jǐ nián, yào děng bàba huí jiā gěi tā kàn. Wǒ jiù yǒu nà yì běn!
Yes! I worked on it for years, to show Father when he comes home. It's the only one I have!
- Amy 别找了。我烧了。
Bié zhǎo le. Wǒ shāo le.
Stop looking. I burned it.
- Jo 你说什么？
Nǐ shuō shénme?
What did you say?
- Amy 我说过，你会后悔的。我把它放在火里了。
Wǒ shuōguo, nǐ huì hòuhuǐ de. Wǒ bǎ tā fàng zài huǒ li le.
I told you you'd be sorry. I put it in the fire.
- Jo 那是给爸爸的！
Nà shì gěi bàba de!
That was for Father!
- Amy 乔，对不起……
Qiáo, duìbuqǐ…
Jo, I'm sorry...
- Jo 我永远不会原谅你！
Wǒ yǒngyuǎn bú huì yuánliàng nǐ!
I'll never, ever forgive you!
- Meg 乔，别这样！你的脾气太大了！
Qiáo, bié zhèyàng! Nǐ de píqi tài dà le!
Jo, stop it! What a temper you have!

That night, Jo still wouldn't speak to Amy.

Jo, Amy's been crying all evening. She's very sorry.

Jo, don't let the sun go down on your anger. Go and forgive her.
- Jo 她烧了我的书。我不原谅她。
Tā shāo le wǒ de shū. Wǒ bù yuánliàng tā.
She burned my book. I won't forgive her.
- Narrator 第二天下午，乔和劳里去河上滑冰。
Dì èr tiān xiàwǔ, Qiáo hé Láolǐ qù hé shang huábīng.
The next afternoon, Jo and Laurie went skating on the river.
- Amy 乔还在生我的气吗？
Qiáo hái zài shēng wǒ de qì ma?
Is Jo still angry with me?
- Meg 你也去吧，戴上你的蓝帽子。去亲一下乔，她就不生气了。
Nǐ yě qù ba, dài shàng nǐ de lán màozi. Qù qīn yíxià Qiáo, tā jiù bù shēngqì le.
Go too. Put on your blue hood. Give Jo a kiss, and she won't be angry anymore.
- Laurie 快来，乔！这是今年最后的冰了！
Kuài lái, Qiáo! Zhè shì jīnnián zuìhòu de bīng le!
Come on, Jo! This is the last ice of the year!
- Amy 乔，等等我！
Qiáo, děngdeng wǒ!
Jo, wait for me!
- Jo 是艾米。我不等她。
Shì Àimǐ. Wǒ bù děng tā.
It's Amy. I won't wait for her.
- Laurie 乔，你的脸比冰还冷！你的脾气又来了？
Qiáo, nǐ de liǎn bǐ bīng hái lěng! Nǐ de píqi yòu lái le?
Jo, your face is colder than the ice! Is that temper of yours back?
- Jo 别说了，快滑冰吧！
Bié shuō le, kuài huábīng ba!
Quit talking and skate!
- Laurie 在河边滑冰！中间的冰不安全！
Zài hébiān huábīng! Zhōngjiān de bīng bù ānquán!
Keep near the shore! The ice in the middle isn't safe!
- Jo 艾米听见了吗？她自己会小心的。
Àimǐ tīngjiàn le ma? Tā zìjǐ huì xiǎoxīn de.
Did Amy hear? She can look out for herself.
- Amy 我要快一点儿，去亲一下乔！我从中间过去！
Wǒ yào kuài yìdiǎnr, qù qīn yíxià Qiáo! Wǒ cóng zhōngjiān guòqù!
I'll hurry and give Jo a kiss! I'll cut across the middle!
- Amy 乔！救我！
Qiáo! Jiù wǒ!
Jo! Save me!
- Narrator 黑黑的河水里，只看见她的小蓝帽子。
Hēihēi de héshuǐ li, zhǐ kànjiàn tā de xiǎo lán màozi.
In the black river water, only her little blue hood showed.
- Jo 艾米……我动不了！
Àimǐ… wǒ dòng bu liǎo!
Amy... I can't move!
