On a scorching summer day, seven-year-old Nezha runs off to play in the sea, and deep beneath the waves, somebody feels it.

Seven years went by. Nezha was now seven years old.
- Narrator 这年夏天，天气非常热。
Zhè nián xiàtiān, tiānqì fēicháng rè.
That summer, the weather was terribly hot.
- Nezha 妈妈，好热啊！我想去海边玩儿！
Māma, hǎo rè a! Wǒ xiǎng qù hǎibiān wánr!
Mom, it's so hot! I want to go play by the sea!

Dad's not home. Please, Mom, let me go!
- Lady Yin 好吧，好吧。你爸爸回来以前，你要回家！
Hǎo ba, hǎo ba. Nǐ bàba huílái yǐqián, nǐ yào huí jiā!
All right, all right. But be home before your father gets back!
- Nezha 知道了！谢谢妈妈！
Zhīdào le! Xièxie māma!
I will! Thanks, Mom!
- Nezha 大海！我来了！
Dàhǎi! Wǒ lái le!
Sea! Here I come!
- Nezha 水好凉啊……真舒服！
Shuǐ hǎo liáng a… zhēn shūfu!
The water's so cool… this feels wonderful!
- Nezha 混天绫，你也热吗？来，我给你洗一洗！
Hùntiān Líng, nǐ yě rè ma? Lái, wǒ gěi nǐ xǐ yi xǐ!
Huntian Sash, are you hot too? Come on, I'll give you a wash!
- Narrator 哪吒把混天绫放进水里。水马上红了。
Nézhā bǎ Hùntiān Líng fàng jìn shuǐ lǐ. Shuǐ mǎshàng hóng le.
Nezha dipped the sash into the sea, and at once the water turned red.
- Nezha 哈哈，水红了！真好看！
Hāhā, shuǐ hóng le! Zhēn hǎokàn!
Ha ha, the water's gone red! How pretty!
- Nezha 混天绫，动一动！我们再玩儿一次！
Hùntiān Líng, dòng yi dòng! Wǒmen zài wánr yí cì!
Come on, sash, wiggle! Let's do it again!
- Narrator 混天绫一动，大海也动了。
Hùntiān Líng yí dòng, dàhǎi yě dòng le.
Each time the sash moved, the whole sea moved with it.
- Narrator 在海里，龙王的龙宫也动了起来。
Zài hǎi lǐ, Lóngwáng de lónggōng yě dòng le qǐlái.
Deep in the sea, the Dragon King's palace began to shake.
- The Dragon King 怎么回事？桌子在动，门也在动！我的龙宫怎么了？
Zěnme huí shì? Zhuōzi zài dòng, mén yě zài dòng! Wǒ de lónggōng zěnme le?
What's going on? The tables are shaking! The doors are shaking! What's happening to my palace?
- The Sea Guard 大王，不好了！水都红了！
Dàwáng, bù hǎo le! Shuǐ dōu hóng le!
Your Majesty, trouble! The water's all turned red!
- The Dragon King 是谁？是谁在我的东海闹？
Shì shéi? Shì shéi zài wǒ de Dōng Hǎi nào?
Who? Who dares to make trouble in my Eastern Sea?
- Nezha 大海，你也在和我玩儿吗？
Dàhǎi, nǐ yě zài hé wǒ wánr ma?
Sea, are you playing with me too?
- The Dragon King 夜叉！你去看看！
Yèchā! Nǐ qù kànkan!
Sea Guard! Go and see!
- The Sea Guard 是，大王！我去看看！
Shì, dàwáng! Wǒ qù kànkan!
Yes, Your Majesty! I'll go and look!
