Rapunzel lives in a tower with no door, and a lonely prince hears her sing. Then he watches how the witch comes in.

- The Witch 你的头发这么长，是很重。
Nǐ de tóufa zhème cháng, shì hěn zhòng.
Your hair is so long. Of course it's heavy.
- Rapunzel 妈妈，你的手好冷啊。
Māma, nǐ de shǒu hǎo lěng a.
Mama, your hands are so cold.
- The Witch 我老了。你是我最好的孩子。
Wǒ lǎo le. Nǐ shì wǒ zuì hǎo de háizi.
I am old. You are my best child.
- Rapunzel 妈妈，外边有什么？我想出去看看。
Māma, wàibiān yǒu shénme? Wǒ xiǎng chūqù kànkan.
Mama, what is outside? I want to go out and see.
- The Witch 外边很可怕！有很多坏人，你不可以出去。
Wàibiān hěn kěpà! Yǒu hěn duō huài rén, nǐ bù kěyǐ chūqù.
Outside is scary! There are many bad people. You may not go out.
- Rapunzel 可是这里没有门。我一个人，很怕。
Kěshì zhèlǐ méiyǒu mén. Wǒ yí gè rén, hěn pà.
But this place has no door. I'm all alone, and I'm scared.
- The Witch 你不是一个人。你有我。别想了！
Nǐ bú shì yí gè rén. Nǐ yǒu wǒ. Bié xiǎng le!
You are not alone. You have me. Stop thinking about it!
- The Witch 我明天再来。你在家等我。
Wǒ míngtiān zài lái. Nǐ zài jiā děng wǒ.
I'll come again tomorrow. Wait for me at home.
- Rapunzel 好的，妈妈。妈妈再见。
Hǎo de, māma. Māma zàijiàn.
Yes, Mama. Goodbye, Mama.
- Rapunzel 一个人……谁来和我说话？
Yí gè rén… shéi lái hé wǒ shuōhuà?
All alone... who will come and talk with me?
- Rapunzel 小鸟，你们飞得真高！我也想飞出去。
Xiǎoniǎo, nǐmen fēi de zhēn gāo! Wǒ yě xiǎng fēi chūqù.
Little birds, you fly so high! I want to fly out too.
- Rapunzel 我要唱歌。有人会听见吗？
Wǒ yào chànggē. Yǒu rén huì tīngjiàn ma?
I'll sing. Will anyone hear me?
- The Prince 谁在唱歌？真好听！
Shéi zài chànggē? Zhēn hǎotīng!
Who is singing? It sounds so lovely!
- The Prince 声音是从塔里来的。可是塔没有门！
Shēngyīn shì cóng tǎ lǐ lái de. Kěshì tǎ méiyǒu mén!
The voice comes from the tower. But the tower has no door!
- The Prince 怎么进去呢？我明天再来。
Zěnme jìnqù ne? Wǒ míngtiān zài lái.
How can I get in? I'll come back tomorrow.
- The Prince 我今天又来了。听！有人来了！
Wǒ jīntiān yòu lái le. Tīng! Yǒu rén lái le!
I'm back today. Listen! Someone is coming!
- The Prince 我在树后边看，不要说话。
Wǒ zài shù hòubian kàn, bú yào shuōhuà.
I'll watch from behind the tree and stay quiet.
- The Witch 长发，长发！放下你的头发！
Chángfà, Chángfà! Fàng xià nǐ de tóufa!
Rapunzel, Rapunzel! Let down your hair!
- The Prince 头发！这么长的头发！
Tóufa! Zhème cháng de tóufa!
Hair! Such long hair!
- The Prince 那个老人进去了！塔里有一个女孩！
Nàge lǎorén jìnqù le! Tǎ lǐ yǒu yí gè nǚhái!
That old woman went inside! There is a girl in the tower!
- The Prince 她用头发上去！我也可以吗？
Tā yòng tóufa shàngqù! Wǒ yě kěyǐ ma?
She goes up by the hair! Can I do that too?
- The Witch 我走了，长发。明天见！
Wǒ zǒu le, Chángfà. Míngtiān jiàn!
I'm off, Rapunzel. See you tomorrow!
- The Prince 她走了。我也来试一试！
Tā zǒu le. Wǒ yě lái shì yi shì!
She's gone. Let me try it too!
