Long ago, England had a great forest. Robin Hood lived there.
- Robin Hood 看！有人来了。是一个有钱人！他的马好大！
Kàn! Yǒu rén lái le. Shì yí gè yǒu qián rén! Tā de mǎ hǎo dà!
Shh... someone's coming. A rich man! Look at his big horse!
- Robin Hood 早上好，先生！请停一下！
Zǎoshang hǎo, xiānsheng! Qǐng tíng yíxià!
Good morning, sir! Please stop for a moment!
- The Rich Merchant 你是谁？我很忙！让我过去！
Nǐ shì shéi? Wǒ hěn máng! Ràng wǒ guòqù!
Who are you? I'm busy! Let me pass!
- Robin Hood 我是罗宾汉。这是我的森林。走这条路，要给钱。
Wǒ shì Luóbīnhàn. Zhè shì wǒ de sēnlín. Zǒu zhè tiáo lù, yào gěi qián.
I'm Robin Hood. This is my forest. To use this road, you pay.
- The Rich Merchant 罗宾汉？！他们说，你有一百个朋友！
Luóbīnhàn?! Tāmen shuō, nǐ yǒu yì bǎi gè péngyou!
Robin Hood?! They say you have a hundred friends!
- Robin Hood 对！他们都很饿。
Duì! Tāmen dōu hěn è.
Yes! And they're all very hungry.
- The Rich Merchant 可是……我没有钱！我只有一点儿！
Kěshì… wǒ méiyǒu qián! Wǒ zhǐyǒu yìdiǎnr!
But... I have no money! Only a little!
- Robin Hood 是吗？你的衣服很新，你的马很大，你的肚子也很大！
Shì ma? Nǐ de yīfu hěn xīn, nǐ de mǎ hěn dà, nǐ de dùzi yě hěn dà!
Really? Your clothes are new, your horse is big, and your belly is big too!
- The Rich Merchant 你……你说什么？！
Nǐ… nǐ shuō shénme?!
You... what did you say?!
- Robin Hood 你一天吃三次饭。很多人一天吃不到一次。
Nǐ yì tiān chī sān cì fàn. Hěn duō rén yì tiān chī bú dào yí cì.
You eat three meals a day. Many people can't get even one.
- The Rich Merchant 好，好，好！给你！这是我的钱！
Hǎo, hǎo, hǎo! Gěi nǐ! Zhè shì wǒ de qián!
Fine, fine, fine! Here! Take my money!
- Robin Hood 谢谢，先生！慢走！
Xièxie, xiānsheng! Màn zǒu!
Thank you, sir! Safe travels!
- The Rich Merchant 我的钱……我的好钱……
Wǒ de qián… wǒ de hǎo qián…
My money... my lovely money...
- Narrator 下午，罗宾汉走到一个小房子前。
Xiàwǔ, Luóbīnhàn zǒu dào yí gè xiǎo fángzi qián.
In the afternoon, Robin Hood came to a little house.
- Robin Hood 您好！家里有人吗？
Nín hǎo! Jiā lǐ yǒu rén ma?
Hello! Is anyone home?
- The Poor Mother 谁呀？……你是谁？
Shéi ya? … Nǐ shì shéi?
Who is it? ... Who are you?
- Robin Hood 我是罗宾汉。这个给您。
Wǒ shì Luóbīnhàn. Zhège gěi nín.
I'm Robin Hood. This is for you.
- The Poor Mother 罗宾汉？这么多钱！为什么给我？
Luóbīnhàn? Zhème duō qián! Wèishénme gěi wǒ?
Robin Hood? So much money! Why give it to me?
- Robin Hood 因为有的人钱太多，有的人钱太少。
Yīnwèi yǒu de rén qián tài duō, yǒu de rén qián tài shǎo.
Because some people have too much, and some have too little.
- The Poor Mother 谢谢你！孩子们，今天有饭吃了！
Xièxie nǐ! Háizimen, jīntiān yǒu fàn chī le!
Thank you! Children, we have food today!
- Robin Hood 不客气。快去买肉吧！
Bú kèqi. Kuài qù mǎi ròu ba!
You're welcome. Go and buy some meat!
- The Poor Mother 罗宾汉，小心。警长在找你。
Luóbīnhàn, xiǎoxīn. Jǐngzhǎng zài zhǎo nǐ.
Robin Hood, be careful. The sheriff is looking for you.
- Robin Hood 警长？我不怕他。
Jǐngzhǎng? Wǒ bú pà tā.
The sheriff? I'm not afraid of him.
- The Poor Mother 还有，河上的小桥，有一个大个子。他说，谁也不能过！
Háiyǒu, hé shàng de xiǎo qiáo, yǒu yí gè dà gèzi. Tā shuō, shéi yě bù néng guò!
And on the little bridge over the river, there's a huge man. He says nobody can cross!
- Robin Hood 谁也不能过？哈哈！我要去看看这个大个子！
Shéi yě bù néng guò? Hāhā! Wǒ yào qù kànkan zhège dà gèzi!
Nobody can cross? Ha! I have to go see this big fellow!
