Here we are, Xiaoyu! This is 302. The room isn't big, but it's very quiet.
- Fang Xiaoyu 我喜欢！张阿姨，谢谢您。可是，怎么有这么多东西？
Wǒ xǐhuan! Zhāng āyí, xièxie nín. Kěshì, zěnme yǒu zhème duō dōngxi?
I love it! Auntie Zhang, thank you. But why is there so much stuff?
- Auntie Zhang 都是上一个人留下的。他走得很快，什么都没带。
Dōu shì shàng yí gè rén liúxià de. Tā zǒu de hěn kuài, shénme dōu méi dài.
The last tenant left it all. He left in a hurry and took nothing.
- Fang Xiaoyu 什么都没带？他是谁？
Shénme dōu méi dài? Tā shì shuí?
Took nothing? Who was he?
- Auntie Zhang 高老师。他在这里住了二十年。你先休息吧，不要问太多。
Gāo lǎoshī. Tā zài zhèlǐ zhù le èr shí nián. Nǐ xiān xiūxi ba, búyào wèn tài duō.
Mr. Gao. He lived here for twenty years. Get some rest now, and don't ask too much.
- Fang Xiaoyu 为什么不能问？
Wèishénme bù néng wèn?
Why can't I ask?
- Auntie Zhang 没有为什么！哎，对了，晚上如果听到声音，不要出去看。
Méiyǒu wèishénme! Āi, duì le, wǎnshang rúguǒ tīngdào shēngyīn, búyào chūqù kàn.
No reason! Oh, and if you hear a noise at night, don't go out to look.
- Fang Xiaoyu 什么声音？

What noise?
- Auntie Zhang 没有声音，没有声音！晚安！
Méiyǒu shēngyīn, méiyǒu shēngyīn! Wǎn'ān!
No noise, no noise! Good night!
- Fang Xiaoyu 张阿姨好奇怪。算了，先看看我的新家。
Zhāng āyí hàoqí guài. Suànle, xiān kànkan wǒ de xīn jiā.
Auntie Zhang is so strange. Oh well, let me look at my new home.
- Fang Xiaoyu 好累啊。今天先睡吧。……咦，这个抽屉怎么打不开？
Hǎo lèi a. Jīntiān xiān shuì ba.… Yí, zhège chōutì zěnme dǎ bù kāi?

Kāi le! Hāhā, wǒ zhēn cōngming!
It's open! Ha ha, I'm so clever!
- Fang Xiaoyu 咦？抽屉里有一把小钥匙，还有一张纸。
Yí? Chōutì lǐ yǒu yì bǎ xiǎo yàoshi, háiyǒu yì zhāng zhǐ.
Huh? There's a little key inside, and a piece of paper.
- Fang Xiaoyu “新邻居，你好。这把钥匙不开门。它开一个小盒子。”
“Xīn línjū, nǐ hǎo. Zhè bǎ yàoshi bù kāi mén. Tā kāi yí gè xiǎo hézi.”
"Hello, new neighbor. This key doesn't open a door. It opens a little box."
- Fang Xiaoyu “盒子在很高的地方。你要小心，这栋楼里的每一个人，都有秘密。”
“Hézi zài hěn gāo de dìfang. Nǐ yào xiǎoxīn, zhè dòng lóu lǐ de měi yí gè rén, dōu yǒu mìmì.”
"The box is in a very high place. Be careful. Everyone in this building has a secret."
- Fang Xiaoyu 秘密？每一个人？张阿姨为什么不想说高老师的事？
Mìmì? Měi yí gè rén? Zhāng āyí wèishénme bù xiǎng shuō Gāo lǎoshī de shì?
A secret? Everyone? Why didn't Auntie Zhang want to talk about Mr. Gao?
- Doudou 喂！你找到了吗？
Wèi! Nǐ zhǎodào le ma?
Hey! Did you find it?
- Fang Xiaoyu 啊！谁在门外？
A! Shuí zài mén wài?
Ah! Who's out there?
- Doudou 我是豆豆，住在三零三。你找到钥匙了，对不对？
Wǒ shì Dòudou, zhù zài sān líng sān. Nǐ zhǎodào yàoshi le, duì bú duì?
I'm Doudou, from 303. You found the key, right?
- Fang Xiaoyu 你怎么知道有钥匙？
Nǐ zěnme zhīdào yǒu yàoshi?
How do you know about a key?
- Doudou 我不能说。可是你听我说，不要给吴奶奶看，也不要给老陈看！
Wǒ bù néng shuō. Kěshì nǐ tīng wǒ shuō, búyào gěi Wú nǎinai kàn, yě búyào gěi Lǎo Chén kàn!
I can't tell. But listen: don't show it to Grandma Wu, and don't show it to Old Chen!
- Fang Xiaoyu 吴奶奶和老陈是谁？为什么不能给他们看？
Wú nǎinai hé Lǎo Chén shì shuí? Wèishénme bù néng gěi tāmen kàn?
Who are Grandma Wu and Old Chen? Why can't I show them?
- Doudou 他们……哎呀，我妈妈在叫我了！
Tāmen… Āiyā, wǒ māma zài jiào wǒ le!
They... oh no, my mom is calling me!
- Fang Xiaoyu 豆豆，等一下！
Dòudou, děng yíxià!
Doudou, wait a second!
- Doudou 明天早上，你一个人来我家。不要让别人看到你。
Míngtiān zǎoshang, nǐ yí gè rén lái wǒ jiā. Búyào ràng biérén kàndào nǐ.
Tomorrow morning, come to my place alone. Don't let anyone see you.
- Doudou 因为这栋楼里，有人不想让你找到那个盒子。
Yīnwèi zhè dòng lóu lǐ, yǒurén bù xiǎng ràng nǐ zhǎodào nàge hézi.
Because somebody in this building doesn't want you to find that box.
