A shivering gentleman comes for his hat and his goose, but the goose is gone. Holmes follows its trail to a noisy inn.

Shì yì jiā rén zài Shèngdànjié chī de. Tāmen bù zhīdao nà shì nín de é.
A family ate it at Christmas. They didn't know it was yours.
- Mr. Baker 好吧。圣诞节，大家都要吃鹅。
Hǎo ba. Shèngdànjié, dàjiā dōu yào chī é.
Oh well. It's Christmas. Everyone eats goose.
- Sherlock Holmes 别难过。我这儿有一只新鹅，跟那只一样大。给您。
Bié nánguò. Wǒ zhèr yǒu yì zhī xīn é, gēn nà zhī yíyàng dà. Gěi nín.
Don't be sad. I have a new goose here, just as big as that one. It's yours.

Zài Ā'ěrfǎ jiǔguǎn. Lǎobǎn yǒu yí gè é huì. Měi xīngqī gěi tā yìdiǎn qián, Shèngdànjié jiù yǒu é.
At the Alpha Inn. The owner runs a goose club. You give him a little money every week, and at Christmas you get a goose.

Yuánlái shì zhèyàng. Xièxie nín, Bèikè xiānsheng. Wǎn'ān!

Careful on the way, Mr. Baker! Don't lose the new goose!
- Dr. Watson 福尔摩斯，他不是小偷，对吗？

Holmes, he isn't the thief, is he?
- Sherlock Holmes 对。他什么都不知道。他只是想要回他的鹅。

Right. He knows nothing. He only wanted his goose back.
- Dr. Watson 那我们现在怎么办呢？

- Sherlock Holmes 去阿尔法酒馆！华生，穿上你的外套。
Qù Ā'ěrfǎ jiǔguǎn! Huáshēng, chuān shàng nǐ de wàitào.
To the Alpha Inn! Watson, put on your coat.
- Dr. Watson 这么冷的晚上？我的脚已经冰了！
Zhème lěng de wǎnshang? Wǒ de jiǎo yǐjīng bīng le!
On a night this cold? My feet are already ice!
- Sherlock Holmes 走路会让脑子更快。快，我们走吧！
Zǒulù huì ràng nǎozi gèng kuài. Kuài, wǒmen zǒu ba!
Walking makes the mind quicker. Come on!
- The Innkeeper 晚上好！两位想喝点什么？
Wǎnshang hǎo! Liǎng wèi xiǎng hē diǎn shénme?
Good evening! What can I get you two?
- Sherlock Holmes 热茶，谢谢。听说你们的鹅又大又好。
Rè chá, xièxie. Tīngshuō nǐmen de é yòu dà yòu hǎo.
Hot tea, thanks. I hear your geese are big and fine.
- The Innkeeper 那当然！我们的鹅，是全伦敦最好的！

- The Innkeeper 喝了我的热茶，你们的脚就不冰了！
Hē le wǒ de rè chá, nǐmen de jiǎo jiù bù bīng le!
A cup of my hot tea will thaw your frozen feet!
- Dr. Watson 真的吗？那我要两杯！
Zhēn de ma? Nà wǒ yào liǎng bēi!
Really? Then I'll have two cups!
- Sherlock Holmes 那么，这些鹅是从哪儿来的？
Nàme, zhèxiē é shì cóng nǎr lái de?
And where do these geese come from?
- The Innkeeper 都是布雷先生给我的。他在科文特花园市场卖鹅。
Dōu shì Bùléi xiānsheng gěi wǒ de. Tā zài Kēwéntè Huāyuán shìchǎng mài é.

- Dr. Watson 现在就去吗？市场还开吗？

Now? Is the market still open?
- Sherlock Holmes 越晚越好。小偷一定也在找那只鹅。我们要比他快！
Yuè wǎn yuè hǎo. Xiǎotōu yídìng yě zài zhǎo nà zhī é. Wǒmen yào bǐ tā kuài!
The later the better. The thief must be hunting that goose too. We have to be faster!
