Is it only the two of you in the house?
- Helen Stoner 还有他养的动物。它们在花园里到处跑。
Háiyǒu tāyǎng de dòngwù. Tāmen zài huāyuánlǐ dàochùpǎo.
And his animals. They roam all over the garden.
- Dr. Watson 到处跑？天哪，那你晚上睡得着吗？
Dàochùpǎo? Tiān nǎ, nà nǐ wǎnshang shuìdé zhe ma?
Roaming everywhere? Good heavens, can you sleep at night?
- Helen Stoner 所以我每天晚上都锁门。可是最近，工人在修我房间的墙。
Suǒyǐ wǒ měitiān wǎnshang dōu suǒmén. Kěshì zuìjìn, gōngrén zài xiū wǒ fángjiān de qiáng.
That's why I lock my door every night. But lately workmen are repairing my wall.
- Helen Stoner 我只好搬到姐姐以前的房间睡。就是她死去的那一间。

So I had to move into my sister's old room. The very one where she died.
- Sherlock Holmes 昨天夜里，你就是在那间房里听见口哨声的吗？
Zuótiān yèlǐ, nǐ jiùshì zài nàjiān fánglǐ tīngjiàn kǒushào shēng de ma?
Was it in that room that you heard the whistle last night?
- Helen Stoner 是的。我吓得一夜没有睡。
Shì de. Wǒ xià dé yíyè méiyǒu shuì.
Yes. I was so scared I didn't sleep all night.
- Sherlock Holmes 口哨声是从哪里来的？你听得出来吗？
Kǒushào shēng shìcóng nǎlǐ lái de? Nǐ tīngdé chūlái ma?
Where did the whistle come from? Could you tell?
- Helen Stoner 好像来自墙上，很近很近，就在我的头旁边。
Hǎoxiàng láizì qiángshàng, hěnjìn hěn jìn, jiù zài wǒ de tóu pángbiān.
It seemed to come from the wall, very close, right next to my head.
- Sherlock Holmes 你们家的钱是谁的？
Nǐmen jiā de qián shì shéi de?
Whose money is it, in your family?
- Helen Stoner 是我母亲留下来的。我们结婚以后，每人可以带走一部分。
Shì wǒ mǔqīn liúxiàlái de. Wǒmen jiéhūn yǐhòu, měirén kěyǐ dàizǒu yíbùfèn.
It was left by my mother. When we marry, each of us can take a share.
- Sherlock Holmes 明白了。你结婚，他会少很多钱。
Míngbai le. Nǐ jiéhūn, tāhuìshǎo hěnduō qián.
I see. When you marry, he loses a lot of money.
- Helen Stoner 所以……他不想让我结婚？我一直不敢这样想。
Suǒyǐ… Tā bùxiǎng ràng wǒ jiéhūn? Wǒ yìzhí bùgǎn zhèyàng xiǎng.
So... he does not want me to marry? I never dared to think so.
- Dr. Watson 福尔摩斯，你是说……

- Sherlock Holmes 我什么都没说，华生。我只想去看看那间房子。
Wǒ shénme dōu méi shuō, Huáshēng. Wǒ zhǐxiǎngqù kànkan nà jiān fángzi.
I have said nothing, Watson. I only want to see that house.
- Dr. Roylott 福尔摩斯！你就是那个到处乱看的侦探吗？
Fú'ěrmósī! Nǐ jiùshì nàge dàochù luàn kàn de zhēntàn ma?
Holmes! Are you that meddling detective who pokes his nose everywhere?
- Dr. Watson 罗伊洛特医生！你怎么就这样闯进来？
Luóyīluòtè yīshēng! Nǐ zěnme jiù zhèyàng chuǎngjìnlái?
Dr. Roylott! How dare you burst in like this?
- Sherlock Holmes 我是福尔摩斯。请坐，医生。今天的天气不错，是不是？
Wǒ shì Fú'ěrmósī. Qǐng zuò, yīshēng. Jīntiān de tiānqì búcuò, shìbúshì?
I am Holmes. Please sit down, Doctor. Lovely weather today, isn't it?
- Dr. Roylott 少说废话！你们不要管我家的事！
Shǎoshuō fèihuà! Nǐmen búyào guǎn wǒjiā de shì!
Enough nonsense! Stay out of my family's business!
- Sherlock Holmes 医生，你说得很大声。我的耳朵很好，不用喊。
Yīshēng, nǐ shuō dé hěn dàshēng. Wǒ de ěrduo hěn hǎo, búyòng hǎn.
Doctor, you are very loud. My ears are fine; there is no need to shout.
- Sherlock Holmes 我听懂了。不过，你说话有点儿不够礼貌。
Wǒ tīngdǒng le. Búguò, nǐ shuōhuà yǒudiǎnr búgòu lǐmào.
I understand. Though your manners could use some work.
- Dr. Roylott 你再来，就会像这个一样！

Remember, my hands are strong. Watch yourselves.
- Sherlock Holmes 多有礼貌的客人啊。他忘了带走他的拨火棍。
Duōyǒu lǐmào de kèrén a. Tā wàng le dàizǒu tā de bō huǒ gùn.
What a polite visitor. He forgot to take his poker.
- Sherlock Holmes 我的力气没有他大，不过……你看。

I'm not as strong as he is, but... look.
- Dr. Watson 你又把拨火棍弄直了！
Nǐ yòu bǎ bō huǒ gùn nòngzhí le!
You bent the poker straight again!
- Sherlock Holmes 华生，他不是来吓我们的。他是怕我们发现什么。
Huáshēng, tā búshì lái xià wǒmen de. Tā shì pà wǒmen fāxiàn shénme.
Watson, he didn't come to scare us. He's afraid we will find something.
- Sherlock Holmes 那间房里的大秘密。带上你的枪，我们现在就去。
Nà jiān fánglǐ de dà mìmì. Dàishàng nǐ de qiāng, wǒmen xiànzài jiù qù.
The great secret in that room. Bring your gun. We go now.
- Sherlock Holmes 我怕我们去晚了，华生。
