The Queen's Magic
王后的魔法
The dwarfs kneel beside Snow White in the lamplight. Far away in the palace, the Queen asks her magic mirror the same question once again.

That night, in the dwarfs' house, Snow White lay perfectly still.
- The First Dwarf 不要哭！我们来看一看……她的带子太紧了！
Bú yào kū! Wǒmen lái kàn yi kàn… tā de dàizi tài jǐn le!
Don't cry! Let's have a look... her laces are far too tight!
- The Seventh Dwarf 刀！我这儿有刀！
Dāo! Wǒ zhèr yǒu dāo!
A knife! I've got a knife here!

- The Seventh Dwarf 她动了一下！你们看，她醒了！
Tā dòng le yíxià! Nǐmen kàn, tā xǐng le!
She moved! Look, she's waking up!
- Snow White 小矮人……你们回来了？
Xiǎo'ǎirén… nǐmen huílái le?
Dwarfs... you're home?
- The First Dwarf 你怎么了？今天谁来了？
Nǐ zěnme le? Jīntiān shéi lái le?
What happened to you? Who came here today?
- Snow White 一个老奶奶来卖带子。对不起，我开门了……
Yí gè lǎonǎinai lái mài dàizi. Duìbuqǐ, wǒ kāi mén le…
An old woman came selling laces. I'm sorry, I opened the door...
- Snow White 她给我穿上带子，太紧了，我不能说话了。
Tā gěi wǒ chuān shàng dàizi, tài jǐn le, wǒ bù néng shuōhuà le.
She laced me up so tight that I couldn't speak.
- The First Dwarf 你没事了，我们都很高兴。
Nǐ méishì le, wǒmen dōu hěn gāoxìng.
You're all right now, and we're all so glad.
- The Seventh Dwarf 老奶奶？那不是老奶奶，是王后！
Lǎonǎinai? Nà bú shì lǎonǎinai, shì wánghòu!
An old woman? That was no old woman. That was the Queen!
- The First Dwarf 王后想要你死。她会再来的。
Wánghòu xiǎng yào nǐ sǐ. Tā huì zài lái de.
The Queen wants you dead. She will come again.
- The First Dwarf 白雪公主，我们不在家的时候，不要给人开门！
Báixuě gōngzhǔ, wǒmen bú zài jiā de shíhou, bú yào gěi rén kāi mén!
Snow White, when we're not at home, don't open the door to anyone!
- Snow White 我知道了。谁来，我都不开！
Wǒ zhīdào le. Shéi lái, wǒ dōu bù kāi!
I understand. Whoever comes, I won't open it!
- The Seventh Dwarf 我们回来，你也不开吗？
Wǒmen huílái, nǐ yě bù kāi ma?
Not even when we come home?
- Snow White 你们回来，我开！
Nǐmen huílái, wǒ kāi!
When you come home, I'll open it!
- The Seventh Dwarf 那我们天天都回来！
Nà wǒmen tiāntiān dōu huílái!
Then we'll come home every day!
- Narrator 两天后的晚上，王后在魔镜前。
Liǎng tiān hòu de wǎnshang, wánghòu zài mójìng qián.
Two evenings later, the Queen stood before her magic mirror.
- The Queen 魔镜，魔镜，你说，谁最漂亮？
Mójìng, mójìng, nǐ shuō, shéi zuì piàoliang?
Magic mirror, magic mirror, tell me: who is the most beautiful?
- The Magic Mirror 王后，您很漂亮。在山那边，在七个小矮人的家里，白雪公主最漂亮。
Wánghòu, nín hěn piàoliang. Zài shān nàbiān, zài qī gè xiǎo'ǎirén de jiā li, Báixuě gōngzhǔ zuì piàoliang.
My Queen, you are very beautiful. Beyond the mountains, in the house of the seven dwarfs, Snow White is the most beautiful.
- The Queen 什么？白雪公主没有死？她还在小矮人的家里？
Shénme? Báixuě gōngzhǔ méiyǒu sǐ? Tā hái zài xiǎo'ǎirén de jiā li?
What? Snow White isn't dead? She's still in the dwarfs' house?
- The Queen 是小矮人！好，这次不是带子了。
Shì xiǎo'ǎirén! Hǎo, zhè cì bú shì dàizi le.
It was the dwarfs! Very well. This time, no laces.
- The Queen 我会魔法。我要做一个梳子，一个有毒的梳子！
Wǒ huì mófǎ. Wǒ yào zuò yí gè shūzi, yí gè yǒu dú de shūzi!
I know magic. I'll make a comb, a poisoned comb!
- The Queen 好了！白雪公主喜欢好看的东西。她会开门的。
Hǎo le! Báixuě gōngzhǔ xǐhuan hǎokàn de dōngxi. Tā huì kāi mén de.
Done! Snow White likes pretty things. She will open the door.
- Narrator 第二天早上，王后去了山那边。这次，她是一个卖梳子的老奶奶。
Dì èr tiān zǎoshang, wánghòu qù le shān nàbiān. Zhè cì, tā shì yí gè mài shūzi de lǎonǎinai.
The next morning, the Queen set out over the mountains. This time, she was an old woman selling combs.
- The Queen 这个老奶奶不好看。没有人会知道是我！
Zhège lǎonǎinai bù hǎokàn. Méiyǒu rén huì zhīdào shì wǒ!
This old woman is not pretty at all. No one will ever know it's me!
- The Queen 孩子，你看，多好看的梳子……
Háizi, nǐ kàn, duō hǎokàn de shūzi…
Child, look, what a pretty comb...
