Long, long ago, there lived a queen. She had a magic mirror.
- The Queen 魔镜，魔镜，告诉我：这个国家里，谁最美？
Mójìng, mójìng, gàosu wǒ: zhège guójiā lǐ, shéi zuì měi?
Mirror, mirror, tell me: who is the most beautiful in all this land?
- The Magic Mirror 王后，您最美。
Wánghòu, nín zuì měi.
My queen, you are the most beautiful.
- The Queen 对，我最美。
Duì, wǒ zuì měi.
Yes. I am the most beautiful.
- Narrator 王后天天问魔镜。魔镜天天说：“王后，您最美。”
Wánghòu tiāntiān wèn mójìng. Mójìng tiāntiān shuō: “Wánghòu, nín zuì měi.”
Every day the queen asked the mirror, and every day the mirror said, “My queen, you are the most beautiful.”
- Narrator 王后是白雪公主的后妈。白雪公主一天一天长大了。
Wánghòu shì Báixuě gōngzhǔ de hòumā. Báixuě gōngzhǔ yì tiān yì tiān zhǎngdà le.
The queen was Snow White's stepmother. And day by day, Snow White was growing up.
- The Queen 魔镜，魔镜，告诉我：这个国家里，谁最美？
Mójìng, mójìng, gàosu wǒ: zhège guójiā lǐ, shéi zuì měi?
Mirror, mirror, tell me: who is the most beautiful in all this land?
- The Magic Mirror 王后，您很美。可是，白雪公主比您更美。
Wánghòu, nín hěn měi. Kěshì, Báixuě gōngzhǔ bǐ nín gèng měi.
My queen, you are beautiful. But Snow White is more beautiful than you.
- The Queen 什么？白雪公主？
Shénme? Báixuě gōngzhǔ?
What? Snow White?
- The Magic Mirror 她的脸像雪一样白。她是这个国家里最美的人。
Tā de liǎn xiàng xuě yíyàng bái. Tā shì zhège guójiā lǐ zuì měi de rén.
Her face is as white as snow. She is the most beautiful one in all this land.
- The Queen 不！不！我要做最美的人！
Bù! Bù! Wǒ yào zuò zuì měi de rén!
No! No! I must be the most beautiful!
- The Queen 没有白雪公主，我就最美了……
Méiyǒu Báixuě gōngzhǔ, wǒ jiù zuì měi le…
Without Snow White, I would be the most beautiful…
- The Queen 猎人！你过来！
Lièrén! Nǐ guòlái!
Hunter! Come here!
- The Hunter 王后，您叫我？
Wánghòu, nín jiào wǒ?
You called for me, my queen?
- The Queen 明天，你带白雪公主去森林。
Míngtiān, nǐ dài Báixuě gōngzhǔ qù sēnlín.
Tomorrow, you will take Snow White into the forest.
- The Hunter 去森林？去做什么？
Qù sēnlín? Qù zuò shénme?
Into the forest? What for?
- The Queen 她不能活着回来。你明白吗？
Tā bù néng huózhe huílái. Nǐ míngbai ma?
She must not come back alive. Do you understand?
- The Hunter 王后！她还是个孩子啊！
Wánghòu! Tā hái shi gè háizi a!
My queen! She's only a child!
- The Queen 你不听我的？
Nǐ bù tīng wǒ de?
You would disobey me?
- The Hunter 我听您的……我去。
Wǒ tīng nín de… wǒ qù.
I'll do as you say… I'll go.
- Narrator 第二天早上，猎人带着白雪公主，走进了森林。
Dì èr tiān zǎoshang, lièrén dàizhe Báixuě gōngzhǔ, zǒujìn le sēnlín.
The next morning, the hunter led Snow White into the forest.
- The Hunter 这么好的孩子……我真的要这样做吗？
Zhème hǎo de háizi… wǒ zhēn de yào zhèyàng zuò ma?
Such a good child… must I really do this?
