A clumsy tiger begs a little cat to be his teacher. The first lesson is a wobbly pounce, but the cat warns that one lesson she will never teach.

- Narrator 森林里有一只大老虎。他很大，可是很笨。他每天都摔倒。
Sēnlín lǐ yǒu yì zhī dà lǎohǔ. Tā hěn dà, kěshì hěn bèn. Tā měi tiān dōu shuāidǎo.
In the forest lived a big tiger. He was very big, but very clumsy. He fell down every day.
- Tiger 哎哟！又摔倒了！
Āiyō! Yòu shuāidǎo le!
Ouch! I fell down again!
- Cat 老虎，你还好吗？疼不疼？
Lǎohǔ, nǐ hái hǎo ma? Téng bu téng?
Tiger, are you all right? Does it hurt?
- Tiger 我没事。小猫，你为什么不摔倒？
Wǒ méi shì. Xiǎo māo, nǐ wèishénme bù shuāidǎo?
I'm fine. Little cat, why don't you ever fall?
- Cat 因为我走路很轻。你走路太重了。
Yīnwèi wǒ zǒulù hěn qīng. Nǐ zǒulù tài zhòng le.
Because I walk lightly. You walk too heavily.
- Tiger 我想像你一样！你能教我吗？
Wǒ xiǎng xiàng nǐ yíyàng! Nǐ néng jiāo wǒ ma?
I want to be like you! Can you teach me?
- Cat 教你？你是老虎，我是小猫。
Jiāo nǐ? Nǐ shì lǎohǔ, wǒ shì xiǎo māo.
Teach you? You're a tiger, and I'm a little cat.
- Tiger 我什么都不会。请你教我，老师！
Wǒ shénme dōu bú huì. Qǐng nǐ jiāo wǒ, lǎoshī!
I can't do anything. Please teach me, Teacher!
- Cat 老师？哈哈，我喜欢这个名字。
Lǎoshī? Hāhā, wǒ xǐhuan zhège míngzi.
Teacher? Ha ha, I like that name.
- Cat 好吧。第一课，你先看我。
Hǎo ba. Dì yī kè, nǐ xiān kàn wǒ.
All right. First lesson: first, watch me.
- Tiger 好！我看，我看！我要学！
Hǎo! Wǒ kàn, wǒ kàn! Wǒ yào xué!
Okay! I'm watching, I'm watching! I want to learn!
- Cat 跟我来。草地上有好东西。
Gēn wǒ lái. Cǎodì shàng yǒu hǎo dōngxi.
Follow me. There's something good on the grass.
- Cat 小声点。你看，草里有一只老鼠。
Xiǎoshēng diǎn. Nǐ kàn, cǎo lǐ yǒu yì zhī lǎoshǔ.
Quiet. Look, there's a mouse in the grass.
- Tiger 我看到了！它好小啊！
Wǒ kàndào le! Tā hǎo xiǎo a!
I see it! It's so tiny!
- Cat 第一课，扑。身体放低，眼睛看着它。
Dì yī kè, pū. Shēntǐ fàng dī, yǎnjing kànzhe tā.
First lesson: the pounce. Keep your body low and your eyes on it.
- Cat 然后，用力跳过去！
Ránhòu, yònglì tiào guòqù!
Then jump at it with all your strength!
- Tiger 一，二，三……扑！
Yī, èr, sān… pū!
One, two, three… pounce!
- Tiger 哎哟！我扑到了一块石头！
Āiyō! Wǒ pū dào le yí kuài shítou!
Ouch! I pounced on a rock!
- Mouse 哈哈哈！老虎，我在这儿！
Hāhāhā! Lǎohǔ, wǒ zài zhèr!
Ha ha ha! Tiger, I'm over here!
- Tiger 别跑，小老鼠！我再来一次！
Bié pǎo, xiǎo lǎoshǔ! Wǒ zài lái yí cì!
Don't run, little mouse! I'll try again!
- Cat 慢一点。别说话，别动。
Màn yìdiǎn. Bié shuōhuà, bié dòng.
Slow down. Don't talk, don't move.
- Tiger 我不说话……我不动……扑！
Wǒ bù shuōhuà… wǒ bú dòng… pū!
I won't talk… I won't move… pounce!
- Mouse 哎呀！我被抓到了！
Āiyā! Wǒ bèi zhuādào le!
Oh no! I've been caught!
- Tiger 老师，你看！我扑到了！
Lǎoshī, nǐ kàn! Wǒ pū dào le!
Teacher, look! I got it!
- Cat 太好了！放了它吧，它只是一只小老鼠。
Tài hǎo le! Fàng le tā ba, tā zhǐshì yì zhī xiǎo lǎoshǔ.
Wonderful! Let it go, it's only a little mouse.
- Mouse 谢谢老虎！我先走了！再见！
Xièxie lǎohǔ! Wǒ xiān zǒu le! Zàijiàn!
Thank you, Tiger! I'll be going now! Bye!
- Tiger 老师，下一课是什么？我还想学！
Lǎoshī, xià yí kè shì shénme? Wǒ hái xiǎng xué!
Teacher, what's the next lesson? I want to learn more!
- Cat 明天学藏和跳。可是，有一课我不教你。
Míngtiān xué cáng hé tiào. Kěshì, yǒu yí kè wǒ bù jiāo nǐ.
Tomorrow we learn hiding and jumping. But there is one lesson I won't teach you.
- Tiger 为什么？是什么课？告诉我！
Wèishénme? Shì shénme kè? Gàosu wǒ!
Why? Which lesson? Tell me!
- Cat 明天再说。你饿了的时候，就知道了。
Míngtiān zài shuō. Nǐ è le de shíhou, jiù zhīdào le.
We'll talk tomorrow. When you get hungry, you'll find out.
