Everybody says Jordan cheated at her first big tournament.

Jordan! Your car nearly hit that workman!
- Jordan Baker 他会小心的。要两个人都不小心，才会撞上。
Tā huì xiǎoxīn de. Yào liǎng gè rén dōu bù xiǎoxīn, cái huì zhuàng shàng.
He'll be careful. It takes two careless people to have a crash.
- Nick Carraway 可是，别人也不小心呢？
Kěshì, biérén yě bù xiǎoxīn ne?
But what if the other person is careless too?
- Jordan Baker 我不喜欢不小心的人。所以，我喜欢你。
Wǒ bù xǐhuan bù xiǎoxīn de rén. Suǒyǐ, wǒ xǐhuan nǐ.
I don't like careless people. That's why I like you.
- Nick Carraway 比赛的时候骗人，开车也开得不好……可是我还是有点儿喜欢她。
Bǐsài de shíhou piàn rén, kāichē yě kāi de bù hǎo… kěshì wǒ háishi yǒudiǎnr xǐhuan tā.
She cheats at tournaments, she drives badly... and still, I like her a little.

One July morning, Gatsby drove Nick to New York in his long yellow car.
- Jay Gatsby 老兄，大家都在说我的事，对吧？还有人说我杀过人。
Lǎoxiōng, dàjiā dōu zài shuō wǒ de shì, duì ba? Hái yǒu rén shuō wǒ shāguo rén.
Old sport, everybody's talking about me, aren't they? Some people even say I killed a man.
- Nick Carraway 我……听说过一点儿。
Wǒ… tīngshuōguo yìdiǎnr.
I... have heard a little.
- Jay Gatsby 今天我跟你说真话。我家在中西部，很有钱。可是我的家人，都死了。
Jīntiān wǒ gēn nǐ shuō zhēnhuà. Wǒ jiā zài Zhōngxībù, hěn yǒu qián. Kěshì wǒ de jiārén, dōu sǐ le.
Today I'll tell you the truth. My family lived in the Middle West, and they were very rich. But they're all dead.
- Nick Carraway 中西部？哪儿？
Zhōngxībù? Nǎr?
The Middle West? Where?
- Jay Gatsby 旧金山。
Jiùjīnshān.
San Francisco.
- Nick Carraway 奇怪，旧金山不在中西部啊……他是不是在骗我？
Qíguài, Jiùjīnshān bú zài Zhōngxībù a… tā shì bu shì zài piàn wǒ?
Strange. San Francisco isn't in the Middle West... Is he fooling me?
- Jay Gatsby 后来我去了牛津。巴黎、罗马……世界上最好的地方，我都住过。
Hòulái wǒ qù le Niújīn. Bālí, Luómǎ… shìjiè shang zuì hǎo de dìfang, wǒ dōu zhùguo.
Then I went to Oxford. Paris, Rome... I've lived in the finest places in the world.
- Nick Carraway 他说的话，好像书里的故事。
Tā shuō de huà, hǎoxiàng shū li de gùshi.
The way he talks, it's like a story out of a book.
- Jay Gatsby 战争的时候，我是军官。我很想死，可是我怎么也没有死。
Zhànzhēng de shíhou, wǒ shì jūnguān. Wǒ hěn xiǎng sǐ, kěshì wǒ zěnme yě méiyǒu sǐ.
In the war, I was an officer. I wanted very much to die, but somehow I never did.
- Jay Gatsby 你看，这是黑山给我的勋章。小小的黑山！
Nǐ kàn, zhè shì Hēishān gěi wǒ de xūnzhāng. Xiǎoxiǎo de Hēishān!
Look, this is the medal Montenegro gave me. Little Montenegro!
- Nick Carraway 勋章上真的有你的名字！
Xūnzhāng shang zhēn de yǒu nǐ de míngzi!
Your name really is on the medal!
- Jay Gatsby 还有这个。这是我在牛津的照片。
Hái yǒu zhège. Zhè shì wǒ zài Niújīn de zhàopiàn.
And this. This is a photo of me at Oxford.
- Nick Carraway 勋章是真的，照片也是真的。那么，他说的都是真的？
Xūnzhāng shì zhēn de, zhàopiàn yě shì zhēn de. Nàme, tā shuō de dōu shì zhēn de?
The medal is real, and the photo is real. So is everything he said true?
- Jay Gatsby 老兄，我想请你帮个大忙。今天喝茶的时候，贝克小姐会告诉你。

Old sport, I want to ask you a big favor. At tea today, Miss Baker will tell you about it.

How do you know I'm having tea with Jordan?
- Jay Gatsby 我知道很多事。
Wǒ zhīdào hěn duō shì.
I know a lot of things.
- Nick Carraway 又是灰谷。威尔逊太太站在灰里，还是那么高兴。
Yòu shì Huīgǔ. Wēi'ěrxùn tàitai zhàn zài huī li, háishi nàme gāoxìng.
The valley of ashes again. Mrs. Wilson is standing in all that ash, and still so cheerful.
- Narrator 一个警察让他们停车。盖茨比拿出他的白卡片，给警察看。

A policeman made them pull over. Gatsby took out his white card and showed it to him.
- The Policeman 是盖茨比先生！对不起，下次我就认识您了！
Shì Gàicíbǐ xiānsheng! Duìbuqǐ, xià cì wǒ jiù rènshi nín le!
It's Mr. Gatsby! I'm sorry, I'll know you next time!
- Nick Carraway 那是什么？你在牛津的照片吗？

What was that? Your picture from Oxford?
- Jay Gatsby 我帮过管警察的人一个忙。年年圣诞，他都给我送卡片。

I once did a favor for the man in charge of the police. Every Christmas, he sends me a card.
- Nick Carraway 这个人，到底是谁？
