Yìndù de sēnlín lǐ, tiān kuài hēi le. Láng de jiā lǐ, yǒu yí gè xiǎoxiǎo de rén.
Night was falling in the jungles of India. In the wolves' den lay a tiny human child.
- Mother Wolf 别怕，小家伙。你和我的孩子们在一起。
Bié pà, xiǎo jiāhuo. Nǐ hé wǒ de háizimen zài yìqǐ.
Don't be afraid, little one. You are with my cubs.
- Father Wolf 嘘！你听，外面有声音。
Xū! Nǐ tīng, wàimiàn yǒu shēngyīn.
Shh! Listen. Something is outside.
- Mother Wolf 我知道。孩子们，到我后面来。
Wǒ zhīdào. Háizimen, dào wǒ hòumiàn lái.
I know. Children, get behind me.
- Shere Khan 狼先生，狼太太。把那个小人给我，我很饿。
Láng xiānsheng, láng tàitai. Bǎ nàge xiǎo rén gěi wǒ, wǒ hěn è.
Mr. Wolf, Mrs. Wolf. Give me that little man. I am hungry.
- Mother Wolf 不给！他在我家里，他是我的孩子！
Bù gěi! Tā zài wǒ jiā lǐ, tā shì wǒ de háizi!
No! He is in my home. He is my child!
- Shere Khan 你的孩子？他是人，不是狼！
Nǐ de háizi? Tā shì rén, bú shì láng!
Your child? He is a human, not a wolf!
- Mother Wolf 你看，他一点儿也不怕，还在笑呢！
Nǐ kàn, tā yìdiǎnr yě bú pà, hái zài xiào ne!
Look, he isn't afraid at all. He's even laughing!
- Father Wolf 他抓住了我的尾巴，还在笑！这个孩子真有意思。
Tā zhuā zhù le wǒ de wěiba, hái zài xiào! Zhège háizi zhēn yǒu yìsi.
He grabbed my tail and he is still laughing! What an interesting child.
- Shere Khan 我是森林里最大的老虎！你们敢说不？
Wǒ shì sēnlín lǐ zuì dà de lǎohǔ! Nǐmen gǎn shuō bù?
I am the biggest tiger in the jungle! Do you dare say no?
- Father Wolf 别说了，他真的会生气！
Bié shuō le, tā zhēn de huì shēngqì!
Stop! He'll really get angry!
- Mother Wolf 你只有三条好腿，还想进我的家？回去吧！
Nǐ zhǐ yǒu sān tiáo hǎo tuǐ, hái xiǎng jìn wǒ de jiā? Huíqù ba!
You only have three good legs, and you still want to come into my home? Go back!
- Shere Khan 明天晚上，我们在大石头上见！狼群会听我的！
Míngtiān wǎnshang, wǒmen zài dà shítou shàng jiàn! Lángqún huì tīng wǒ de!
Tomorrow night, we meet at the big rock! The pack will listen to me!
- Father Wolf 他会去找狼群。我们怎么办？
Tā huì qù zhǎo lángqún. Wǒmen zěnme bàn?
He'll go to the pack. What do we do?
- Mother Wolf 先给他一个名字。你叫毛克利，就是小青蛙。
Xiān gěi tā yí gè míngzi. Nǐ jiào Máokèlì, jiùshì xiǎo qīngwā.
First, a name for him. You are Mowgli, which means little frog.
- Narrator 第二天晚上，月亮很大。狼群都来到了大石头上。
Dì'èr tiān wǎnshang, yuèliang hěn dà. Lángqún dōu láidào le dà shítou shàng.
The next night the moon was big. The whole pack gathered on the Council Rock.
- Akela 狼群的朋友们，今天有一件大事。这个人的孩子，谁要他？
Lángqún de péngyoumen, jīntiān yǒu yí jiàn dàshì. Zhège rén de háizi, shéi yào tā?
Friends of the pack, we have big business today. This human child, who wants him?
- Shere Khan 我要他！他是我的晚饭！
Wǒ yào tā! Tā shì wǒ de wǎnfàn!
I want him! He's my dinner!
- Akela 森林的法律说：有人为他说话，他就可以留下。谁为他说话？
Sēnlín de fǎlǜ shuō: yǒu rén wèi tā shuōhuà, tā jiù kěyǐ liúxià. Shéi wèi tā shuōhuà?
The Law of the Jungle says that if someone speaks for him, he may stay. Who speaks for him?
- Bagheera 我，黑豹巴吉拉，为他说话。我用一头大公牛买他的命。
Wǒ, hēibào Bājílā, wèi tā shuōhuà. Wǒ yòng yì tóu dà gōngniú mǎi tā de mìng.
I, Bagheera the panther, speak for him. I will buy his life with a big bull.
- Shere Khan 一头新鲜的大牛？……可是我更想要这个孩子！
Yì tóu xīnxiān de dà niú? … Kěshì wǒ gèng xiǎng yào zhège háizi!
A fresh, big bull? ... But I want this child more!
- Akela 黑豹巴吉拉，你的话，我们相信。
Hēibào Bājílā, nǐ de huà, wǒmen xiāngxìn.
Bagheera the panther, we trust your word.
- Akela 一头大公牛，比一个小孩大得多。狼群有很多吃的了。
Yì tóu dà gōngniú, bǐ yí gè xiǎohái dà de duō. Lángqún yǒu hěn duō chī de le.
A big bull is much bigger than one small child. The pack will eat well.
- Akela 要留下他的，请大声叫吧！
Yào liúxià tā de, qǐng dàshēng jiào ba!
All who want him to stay, raise your voices!
- Akela 大家都同意了！毛克利留在狼群里。
Dàjiā dōu tóngyì le! Máokèlì liú zài lángqún lǐ.
Everyone agrees! Mowgli stays with the pack.
- Bagheera 谢谢你们。我会请熊巴鲁，教他森林的法律。
Xièxie nǐmen. Wǒ huì qǐng xióng Bālǔ, jiāo tā sēnlín de fǎlǜ.
Thank you. I will ask Baloo the bear to teach him the Law of the Jungle.
- Shere Khan 你们高兴得太早了！小青蛙会长大的……
Nǐmen gāoxìng de tài zǎo le! Xiǎo qīngwā huì zhǎngdà de…
You are happy too soon! The little frog will grow up...
- Shere Khan 到那时候，他就是我的！
Dào nà shíhou, tā jiù shì wǒ de!
