涂山的女孩
Yu climbs Tushan to find whoever is waiting for him. What he finds is a fast stream, a girl with a heavy basket, and a fox who seems to have planned the whole thing.

The next morning, Yu and Boyi climbed Tushan.
- Boyi 大禹，山好高！我的脚好累！
Dà Yǔ, shān hǎo gāo! Wǒ de jiǎo hǎo lèi!
Yu, this mountain is so high! My feet are so tired!
- Yu 快到了。白狐狸说，有人在等我。
Kuài dào le. Bái húli shuō, yǒu rén zài děng wǒ.
Almost there. The white fox said someone is waiting for me.

Bó Yì, wǒ de tóufa zěnmeyàng? Hǎokàn ma?
Boyi, how is my hair? Does it look nice?
- Boyi 好看！像一个鸟的家。
Hǎokàn! Xiàng yí gè niǎo de jiā.
Very nice! Like a bird's nest.
- Nüjiao 喂！那边的人！请你们帮帮我！
Wèi! Nàbiān de rén! Qǐng nǐmen bāngbang wǒ!
Hey! You over there! Please help me!
- Yu 你……你好。我叫水。
Nǐ… nǐ hǎo. Wǒ jiào Shuǐ.
H-hello. My name is Water.
- Boyi 他不叫水！他叫大禹。
Tā bú jiào Shuǐ! Tā jiào Dà Yǔ.
His name isn't Water! It's Yu.
- Nüjiao 你叫水吗？我叫女娇。
Nǐ jiào Shuǐ ma? Wǒ jiào Nǚjiāo.
Your name is Water? I'm Nüjiao.
- Yu 不……我叫大禹。对不起，我今天有一点儿怕。
Bù… wǒ jiào Dà Yǔ. Duìbuqǐ, wǒ jīntiān yǒu yìdiǎnr pà.
No… my name is Yu. Sorry, I'm a little scared today.
- Nüjiao 怕什么？我又不吃人。
Pà shénme? Wǒ yòu bù chī rén.
Scared of what? I don't eat people.
- Boyi 大禹，她不吃人。你别怕。
Dà Yǔ, tā bù chī rén. Nǐ bié pà.
Yu, she doesn't eat people. Don't be scared.
- Nüjiao 河那边有老人。我要给他们送饭。可是水太大了。
Hé nàbiān yǒu lǎorén. Wǒ yào gěi tāmen sòng fàn. Kěshì shuǐ tài dà le.
There are old people across the stream. I have to take them food. But the water's too high.
- Yu 我最会和水玩！伯益，来！
Wǒ zuì huì hé shuǐ wán! Bó Yì, lái!
I'm the best at playing with water! Boyi, come on!
- Boyi 又是我？我的手啊！
Yòu shì wǒ? Wǒ de shǒu a!
Me again? My poor hands!
- Narrator 他们把大石头放进水里，一块，又一块。
Tāmen bǎ dà shítou fàng jìn shuǐ lǐ, yí kuài, yòu yí kuài.
They set big stones into the water, one after another.
- Nüjiao 你看！水里有路了！大禹，你真行！
Nǐ kàn! Shuǐ lǐ yǒu lù le! Dà Yǔ, nǐ zhēn xíng!
Look! There's a road in the water! Yu, you're amazing!
- Yu 请。我来拿篮子。
Qǐng. Wǒ lái ná lánzi.
After you. I'll carry the basket.
- Nüjiao 谢谢你，大禹。你不是水，你是好人。
Xièxie nǐ, Dà Yǔ. Nǐ bú shì shuǐ, nǐ shì hǎo rén.
Thank you, Yu. You're not Water. You're a good man.
- Boyi 我也帮忙了！有饭吃吗？
Wǒ yě bāngmáng le! Yǒu fàn chī ma?
I helped too! Is there anything to eat?
- Nüjiao 有米糕，还有菜。今天没有鱼！
Yǒu mǐgāo, hái yǒu cài. Jīntiān méiyǒu yú!
There are rice cakes and vegetables. No fish today!
- Boyi 没有鱼？我的天啊，太好了！
Méiyǒu yú? Wǒ de tiān a, tài hǎo le!
No fish? Oh my heavens, wonderful!
- Xiaobai 你们看，我没有说错吧？
Nǐmen kàn, wǒ méiyǒu shuō cuò ba?
See? I wasn't wrong, was I?
- Nüjiao 小白！大禹，她是我的朋友。她说，今天会有人来帮我。
Xiǎo Bái! Dà Yǔ, tā shì wǒ de péngyou. Tā shuō, jīntiān huì yǒu rén lái bāng wǒ.
Xiaobai! Yu, she's my friend. She told me somebody would come to help me today.
- Yu 原来，是你在等我？
Yuánlái, shì nǐ zài děng wǒ?
So it was you, waiting for me?
- Nüjiao 涂山的老人说，白狐狸一来，就有人结婚。
Túshān de lǎorén shuō, bái húli yì lái, jiù yǒu rén jiéhūn.
The old people of Tushan say that when a white fox comes, somebody gets married.
- Xiaobai 大禹，你还在等什么？
Dà Yǔ, nǐ hái zài děng shénme?
