Hěn jiǔ yǐqián, yǒu gè huàirén zuò le yí miàn jìngzi.
Long ago, a wicked troll made a mirror.
- Troll 好东西照镜子，都变难看！哈哈！
Hǎo dōngxi zhào jìngzi, dōu biàn nánkàn! Hāhā!
Anything good looks ugly in my mirror! Ha ha!
- Troll 我要飞上天！给天上的人照照！看他们多难看！
Wǒ yào fēi shàng tiān! Gěi tiān shàng de rén zhàozhao! Kàn tāmen duō nánkàn!
I'll fly up to the sky! Let the people up there have a look! Won't they look ugly!
- Troll 不好！镜子在抖！我拿不住了！
Bù hǎo! Jìngzi zài dǒu! Wǒ ná bú zhù le!
Oh no! The mirror is shaking! I can't hold it!
- Troll 啊！镜子碎了！
Ā! Jìngzi suì le!
Aah! The mirror broke!
- Narrator 很小很小的碎片，飞到了很远的地方。
Hěn xiǎo hěn xiǎo de suìpiàn, fēi dào le hěn yuǎn de dìfang.
Tiny, tiny pieces flew off to faraway places.
- Gerda 凯！你看！我们的玫瑰开了！
Kǎi! Nǐ kàn! Wǒmen de méigui kāi le!
Kai! Look! Our roses are open!
- Kai 真好看！红红的，像你的红鞋！
Zhēn hǎokàn! Hónghóng de, xiàng nǐ de hóng xié!
So pretty! Red, just like your red shoes!
- Gerda 你的花更好看！我们是好朋友！
Nǐ de huā gèng hǎokàn! Wǒmen shì hǎo péngyou!
Your flower is even prettier! We're best friends!
- Kai 对！我们一起玩，天天玩！
Duì! Wǒmen yìqǐ wán, tiāntiān wán!
Yes! We'll play together every single day!
- Gerda 奶奶说，我们的花会一直开。
Nǎinai shuō, wǒmen de huā huì yìzhí kāi.
Grandma says our flowers will keep blooming.
- Kai 哎哟！我的眼睛！我的心也疼！
Āiyō! Wǒ de yǎnjing! Wǒ de xīn yě téng!
Ow! My eye! And my heart hurts too!
- Gerda 凯，你怎么了？让我看看你的眼睛！
Kǎi, nǐ zěnme le? Ràng wǒ kànkan nǐ de yǎnjing!
Kai, what's wrong? Let me see your eye!
- Kai 没事了。……咦，这些花好难看！
Méishì le. … Yí, zhèxiē huā hǎo nánkàn!
I'm fine. ...Ugh, these flowers are so ugly!
- Gerda 什么？它们很好看啊！你看，多红！
Shénme? Tāmen hěn hǎokàn a! Nǐ kàn, duō hóng!
What? They're beautiful! Look how red they are!
- Kai 这些都坏了！都难看！
Zhèxiē dōu huài le! Dōu nánkàn!
They're all ruined! All ugly!
- Gerda 凯！别这样！你怎么了？
Kǎi! Bié zhèyàng! Nǐ zěnme le?
Kai! Stop it! What's happened to you?
- Kai 你哭了？真难看！走开！别跟着我！
Nǐ kū le? Zhēn nánkàn! Zǒu kāi! Bié gēn zhe wǒ!
Are you crying? How ugly! Go away! Stop following me!
- Narrator 冬天来了，雪下得很大。
Dōngtiān lái le, xuě xià de hěn dà.
Winter came, and the snow fell thick.
- Kai 我有大雪橇！我要去雪里玩！不跟你玩了！
Wǒ yǒu dà xuěqiāo! Wǒ yào qù xuě lǐ wán! Bù gēn nǐ wán le!
I've got a big sled! I'm going to play in the snow! I'm not playing with you anymore!
- Gerda 凯！你去哪儿？等等我！
Kǎi! Nǐ qù nǎr? Děngdeng wǒ!
Kai! Where are you going? Wait for me!
- Kai 快看！我的雪橇跑得真快！你跑不过我！
Kuài kàn! Wǒ de xuěqiāo pǎo de zhēn kuài! Nǐ pǎo bú guò wǒ!
Look! My sled is so fast! You can't outrun me!
- Gerda 那辆大白车是谁的？
Nà liàng dà bái chē shì shéi de?
Whose big white sleigh is that?
- Snow Queen 小男孩，你冷吗？来，坐我的大白车。
Xiǎo nánhái, nǐ lěng ma? Lái, zuò wǒ de dà bái chē.
Little boy, are you cold? Come, ride in my big white sleigh.
- Kai 你是……女王？我不怕你！
Nǐ shì… nǚwáng? Wǒ bú pà nǐ!
You're... a queen? I'm not afraid of you!
- Snow Queen 我是冰雪女王。好孩子，跟我走吧。
Wǒ shì bīngxuě nǚwáng. Hǎo háizi, gēn wǒ zǒu ba.
I am the Snow Queen. Good boy, come with me.
- Gerda 凯！别去！凯！回来！
Kǎi! Bié qù! Kǎi! Huílái!
Kai! Don't go! Kai! Come back!
- Gerda 他不见了……我一定要找到他！
Tā bú jiàn le… Wǒ yídìng yào zhǎodào tā!
He's gone... I will find him, no matter what!
