On a gray Kansas farm, only her little dog Toto can make Dorothy laugh. Then a big wind comes roaring out of the north.

Long, long ago, Dorothy lived in a little house in Kansas.
- Dorothy 托托，你跑得真快！我抓不到你！
Tuōtuō, nǐ pǎo de zhēn kuài! Wǒ zhuā bu dào nǐ!
Toto, you're so fast! I can't catch you!
- Toto 汪汪！汪汪！
Wāngwāng! Wāngwāng!
Woof woof! Woof woof!
- Aunt Em 多萝西，这儿没有树，没有花，也没有颜色。你天天笑什么？
Duōluóxī, zhèr méiyǒu shù, méiyǒu huā, yě méiyǒu yánsè. Nǐ tiāntiān xiào shénme?
Dorothy, there are no trees here, no flowers, no color at all. What do you find to laugh about every day?
- Dorothy 因为我有托托啊！艾姆婶婶，你也笑一笑吧！
Yīnwèi wǒ yǒu Tuōtuō a! Àimǔ Shěnshen, nǐ yě xiào yi xiào ba!
Because I have Toto! Come on, Aunt Em, you smile too!
- Aunt Em 我……很多年没有笑过了。
Wǒ… hěn duō nián méiyǒu xiào guo le.
I… haven't smiled in years.
- Dorothy 艾姆婶婶不笑，亨利叔叔也不笑。可是托托能让我笑！
Àimǔ Shěnshen bú xiào, Hēnglì Shūshu yě bú xiào. Kěshì Tuōtuō néng ràng wǒ xiào!
Aunt Em never smiles, and Uncle Henry never laughs. But Toto makes me laugh!
- Dorothy 托托，你笑一个给艾姆婶婶看！
Tuōtuō, nǐ xiào yí gè gěi Àimǔ Shěnshen kàn!
Toto, show Aunt Em a smile!
- Aunt Em 小狗不会笑。
Xiǎogǒu bú huì xiào.
Dogs can't smile.
- Toto 汪汪！
Wāngwāng!
Woof woof!
- Dorothy 你听，它说它会！你看它的眼睛，在笑呢！
Nǐ tīng, tā shuō tā huì! Nǐ kàn tā de yǎnjing, zài xiào ne!
Hear that? He says he can! Look at his eyes, they're smiling!
- Uncle Henry 艾姆，你看北边的天！大风要来了！
Àimǔ, nǐ kàn běibian de tiān! Dàfēng yào lái le!
Em, look at the sky in the north! A big wind is coming!
- Dorothy 亨利叔叔，你看！北边的草都在动！
Hēnglì Shūshu, nǐ kàn! Běibian de cǎo dōu zài dòng!
Uncle Henry, look! All the grass up north is moving!
- Uncle Henry 我去看看动物！艾姆，你们快到下边去！
Wǒ qù kànkan dòngwù! Àimǔ, nǐmen kuài dào xiàbian qù!
I'm going to see to the animals! Em, get down below, both of you, quick!
- Aunt Em 多萝西，快！快到下边的小房间去！
Duōluóxī, kuài! Kuài dào xiàbian de xiǎo fángjiān qù!
Dorothy, quick! Down into the little room under the floor!
- Dorothy 托托，别跑！你怎么跑到床下边去了？
Tuōtuō, bié pǎo! Nǐ zěnme pǎo dào chuáng xiàbian qù le?
Toto, don't run! Why did you go under the bed?
- Aunt Em 多萝西！快一点儿！
Duōluóxī! Kuài yìdiǎnr!
Dorothy! Hurry!
- Dorothy 托托，快出来！我不能没有你！
Tuōtuō, kuài chūlai! Wǒ bù néng méiyǒu nǐ!
Toto, come out! I can't lose you!
- Dorothy 抓到你了！别怕，托托，我在这儿！
Zhuā dào nǐ le! Bié pà, Tuōtuō, wǒ zài zhèr!
Got you! Don't be scared, Toto, I'm here!
- Dorothy 走，我们去找艾姆婶婶！
Zǒu, wǒmen qù zhǎo Àimǔ Shěnshen!
Come on, let's go down to Aunt Em!
- Dorothy 啊！房子在动！
À! Fángzi zài dòng!
Ah! The house is moving!
- Narrator 房子动了一下，又动了一下。多萝西没站住，坐到了地上。
Fángzi dòng le yíxià, yòu dòng le yíxià. Duōluóxī méi zhànzhù, zuò dào le dìshang.
The house shook, then shook again. Dorothy lost her footing and sat down hard on the floor.
- Dorothy 艾姆婶婶！艾姆婶婶，你在哪儿？
Àimǔ Shěnshen! Àimǔ Shěnshen, nǐ zài nǎr?
Aunt Em! Aunt Em, where are you?
- Narrator 房子转了两三圈，然后一点一点飞了起来。
Fángzi zhuàn le liǎng sān quān, ránhòu yìdiǎn yìdiǎn fēi le qǐlai.
The house spun around two or three times, and then, little by little, it rose into the air.
- Dorothy 托托，你看外边……我们的房子……在飞！
Tuōtuō, nǐ kàn wàibian… wǒmen de fángzi… zài fēi!
Toto, look outside… our house… is flying!
