The Old Sailor
老水手
A scarred old sailor moves into Jim's seaside inn and pays him to watch for a one-legged man. Then a visitor arrives, and the sailor's secret comes looking for him.

Jim's family had a small inn by the sea. One day, an old sailor arrived.
- Billy Bones 喂，孩子！这里有酒吗？有房间吗？我要住很久。
Wèi, háizi! Zhèlǐ yǒu jiǔ ma? Yǒu fángjiān ma? Wǒ yào zhù hěn jiǔ.
Hey, boy! Is there rum here? Is there a room? I'll be staying a long time.
- Jim Hawkins 有，先生。请问您叫什么名字？
Yǒu, xiānsheng. Qǐngwèn nín jiào shénme míngzi?
Yes, sir. May I ask your name?
- Billy Bones 叫我船长吧。我住在这里，你帮我看路。
Jiào wǒ chuánzhǎng ba. Wǒ zhù zài zhèlǐ, nǐ bāng wǒ kàn lù.
Just call me Captain. I'll stay here, and you watch the road for me.
- Jim Hawkins 看路？看什么？

Jim, that captain never stops drinking. Who is he?
- Jim Hawkins 妈妈，他很奇怪，可是他给钱。爸爸生病了，我们需要钱。
Māma, tā hěn qíguài, kěshì tā gěi qián. Bàba shēngbìng le, wǒmen xūyào qián.
Mom, he's strange, but he pays. Dad is sick, and we need the money.

Captain, today's drink is... a special drink.
- Billy Bones 咦，这酒怎么这么淡？喂，这是茶！
Yí, zhè jiǔ zěnme zhème dàn? Wèi, zhè shì chá!
Hey, why is this rum so weak? Wait, this is tea!
- Jim Hawkins 医生说，您不能再喝酒了。
Yīshēng shuō, nín bù néng zài hē jiǔ le.
The doctor says you can't drink rum anymore.
- Billy Bones 医生？哪个医生？好吧，茶就茶。
Yīshēng? Nǎ gè yīshēng? Hǎo ba, chá jiù chá.
A doctor? What doctor? Oh, all right. Tea it is.
- Jim's mother 吉姆，你真聪明。不过，你要小心他。他晚上会叫，很可怕。

Jim, you're clever. But be careful of him. At night he shouts, and it's terrifying.

Winter came. One snowy night, a thin man walked into the inn.
- Black Dog 比利，好久不见。你还认识我吗？

Billy, long time no see. Do you still know me?
- Billy Bones 黑狗！你来这里做什么？
Hēi Gǒu! Nǐ lái zhèlǐ zuò shénme?
Black Dog! What are you doing here?
- Black Dog 大家想要你的箱子。给我们，就没有事。
Dàjiā xiǎng yào nǐ de xiāngzi. Gěi wǒmen, jiù méiyǒu shì.
Everyone wants your sea chest. Give it to us and there's no trouble.
- Billy Bones 我的箱子？你做梦！
Wǒ de xiāngzi? Nǐ zuòmèng!
My chest? In your dreams!
- Jim Hawkins 他们打起来了！妈妈，快出去！
Tāmen dǎ qǐlái le! Māma, kuài chūqù!
They're fighting! Mom, get out, quick!
- Black Dog 别打了！我走！你等着！
Bié dǎ le! Wǒ zǒu! Nǐ děngzhe!
Stop! I'm going! You just wait!
- Billy Bones 吉姆，我不舒服。给我酒！
Jímǔ, wǒ bù shūfu. Gěi wǒ jiǔ!
Jim, I feel sick. Give me rum!
- Jim Hawkins 不行，船长。您告诉我，他们是谁？

No, Captain. Tell me, who are they?
