Frequently asked questions
Do I need the website or an audio track?
No. Each story page is a complete script. A partner can read it for listening practice; working alone, use the printed read-cover-write-check routine. Every task remains usable with paper alone.
What does controlled vocabulary mean here?
The stories repeatedly draw from the shared core bank and highlight three useful focus words each. A few short function or story-specific words also appear, and every line includes pinyin and English. The goal is manageable reading, not a fixed three-new-word ceiling.
Should I memorize every story?
No. First understand the sequence, retrieve a few details, repair mistakes, and later tell a changed version. Comprehension and flexible reuse matter more than perfect recitation.
Should I use my own recording for dictation?
No. Your own reading is not independent listening input. When working alone, use read-cover-write-check recall instead. You may record a retell for reflection, but this workbook does not score or validate pronunciation.
