Two Genies

Trapped in the dark, Aladdin presses his hands together to pray and gets a very big surprise. Then Mother decides to clean an old lamp before she sells it.

Liǎng tiān guòqù le. Shāndòng lǐ yòu hēi yòu lěng, Ālādīng méiyǒu chī de, yě méiyǒu hē de.
Two days went by. The cave was dark and cold, and Aladdin had nothing to eat or drink.
- Aladdin 两天了……妈妈一定在找我。我还能回家吗？老天爷，请帮帮我吧！
Liǎng tiān le… māma yídìng zài zhǎo wǒ. Wǒ hái néng huí jiā ma? Lǎotiānyé, qǐng bāngbang wǒ ba!
Two days… Mom must be out looking for me. Will I ever get home? Heaven above, please help me!
- Narrator 他把两只手放在一起，手上的戒指擦了一下。忽然，山洞里亮了！
Tā bǎ liǎng zhī shǒu fàng zài yìqǐ, shǒu shang de jièzhi cā le yíxià. Hūrán, shāndòng lǐ liàng le!
As he pressed his hands together, the ring on his finger got a rub. Suddenly, the cave was full of light!

I am the Genie of the Ring! Whoever wears this ring, I obey. Master, what is your wish?
- Aladdin 你……你好大！我……我要回家！
Nǐ… nǐ hǎo dà! Wǒ… wǒ yào huí jiā!
You… you're enormous! I… I want to go home!
- The Genie of the Ring 是，主人！
Shì, zhǔrén!
As you wish, Master!
- Narrator 阿拉丁一看，他已经在山洞外面了。他马上跑回了家。
Ālādīng yí kàn, tā yǐjīng zài shāndòng wàimiàn le. Tā mǎshàng pǎo huí le jiā.
Aladdin looked around. He was already outside the cave! He ran straight home.
- Aladdin's Mother 阿拉丁！你去哪儿了？妈妈找了你三天！
Ālādīng! Nǐ qù nǎr le? Māma zhǎo le nǐ sān tiān!
Aladdin! Where have you been? I've been searching for you for three days!
- Aladdin 妈妈，我好饿……家里有吃的吗？
Māma, wǒ hǎo è… jiā lǐ yǒu chī de ma?
Mom, I'm so hungry… is there anything to eat?
- Aladdin's Mother 只有一块面包。你叔叔呢？
Zhǐ yǒu yí kuài miànbāo. Nǐ shūshu ne?
There's only a bit of bread. Where's your uncle?
- Aladdin 他不是我叔叔！他是一个坏人，把我关在山洞里了！
Tā bú shì wǒ shūshu! Tā shì yí gè huàirén, bǎ wǒ guān zài shāndòng lǐ le!
He's not my uncle! He's a bad man. He shut me inside a cave!
- Aladdin's Mother 什么？我就知道！他一看就不是好人！
Shénme? Wǒ jiù zhīdào! Tā yí kàn jiù bú shì hǎorén!
What? I knew it! You could tell at a glance he was no good!
- Aladdin 妈妈，那天晚上，你还让我快谢谢他呢！
Māma, nà tiān wǎnshang, nǐ hái ràng wǒ kuài xièxie tā ne!
Mom, that night you were the one telling me to hurry up and thank him!
- Aladdin's Mother 那……那是因为他的菜太好吃了！好了，家里什么都没有了，把这盏旧灯卖了吧。
Nà… nà shì yīnwèi tā de cài tài hǎochī le! Hǎo le, jiā lǐ shénme dōu méiyǒu le, bǎ zhè zhǎn jiù dēng mài le ba.
Th-that's only because his food was so good! Anyway, there's nothing left in the house. Let's sell this old lamp.
- Aladdin's Mother 太旧了，我先擦一擦。干净一点儿，能多卖一点儿钱。
Tài jiù le, wǒ xiān cā yi cā. Gānjìng yìdiǎnr, néng duō mài yìdiǎnr qián.
It's so old. I'll give it a rub first. If it's a bit cleaner, it'll sell for a bit more.
- The Genie of the Lamp 我的头！你们的房子太小了！
Wǒ de tóu! Nǐmen de fángzi tài xiǎo le!
Ow, my head! Your house is way too small!
- The Genie of the Lamp 我是灯神！谁拿着神灯，我就听谁的。你们要什么？
Wǒ shì Dēng Shén! Shéi názhe shén dēng, wǒ jiù tīng shéi de. Nǐmen yào shénme?
I am the Genie of the Lamp! Whoever holds the lamp, I obey. What is your wish?
- Aladdin's Mother 啊！这……这是什么？
A! Zhè… zhè shì shénme?
Aaah! Wh… what is that?
- Aladdin 妈妈！妈妈倒了！……灯神，我们饿了，请给我们拿吃的来！
Māma! Māma dǎo le! … Dēng Shén, wǒmen è le, qǐng gěi wǒmen ná chī de lái!
Mom! Mom's fainted! … Genie, we're hungry. Please bring us something to eat!
- The Genie of the Lamp 马上就好！
Mǎshàng jiù hǎo!
Coming right up!
- Narrator 灯神很快就回来了。他拿来了十二个银盘子，盘子里都是好吃的菜。
Dēng Shén hěn kuài jiù huílái le. Tā ná lái le shí'èr gè yín pánzi, pánzi lǐ dōu shì hǎochī de cài.
The genie was back in no time with twelve silver plates, all piled with delicious food.
- Aladdin's Mother 我……我在哪儿？这么多菜，是哪儿来的？
Wǒ… wǒ zài nǎr? Zhème duō cài, shì nǎr lái de?
Wh… where am I? Where did all this food come from?
- Aladdin 灯神送来的！妈妈，快吃！这个肉太好吃了！
Dēng Shén sòng lái de! Māma, kuài chī! Zhège ròu tài hǎochī le!
The genie brought it! Eat up, Mom! This meat is so good!
- Aladdin's Mother 那个大个子太可怕了！阿拉丁，快把这盏灯卖了！
Nàge dàgèzi tài kěpà le! Ālādīng, kuài bǎ zhè zhǎn dēng mài le!
That giant is terrifying! Aladdin, sell that lamp right now!
- Aladdin 不卖！有了这盏神灯，我们天天都有饭吃！
Bú mài! Yǒu le zhè zhǎn shén dēng, wǒmen tiāntiān dōu yǒu fàn chī!
No way! With this magic lamp, we'll have food every single day!
- Narrator 后来，阿拉丁长大了。他也知道了，山洞里的“果子”，都是宝石。
Hòulái, Ālādīng zhǎngdà le. Tā yě zhīdào le, shāndòng lǐ de “guǒzi”, dōu shì bǎoshí.
In time, Aladdin grew up. He also found out that the “fruit” from the cave were all jewels.
- Aladdin's Mother 阿拉丁，国王说了：今天公主要出来，大家都要回家关门，谁也不能看她！
Ālādīng, guówáng shuō le: jīntiān gōngzhǔ yào chūlái, dàjiā dōu yào huí jiā guān mén, shéi yě bù néng kàn tā!
Aladdin, the king has given an order: the princess is going out today. Everyone must go home and shut their doors, and no one may look at her!
- Aladdin 谁也不能看？那我在门后面看，谁也不知道！
Shéi yě bù néng kàn? Nà wǒ zài mén hòumiàn kàn, shéi yě bù zhīdào!
No one may look? Then I'll peek from behind the door. Nobody will ever know!
- The Princess 街上一个人也没有……今天好热啊！
Jiē shang yí gè rén yě méiyǒu… jīntiān hǎo rè a!
There's no one at all in the street… and it's so hot today!
- Aladdin 她……她太美了！
Tā… tā tài měi le!
She's… she's so beautiful!
- Aladdin 妈妈！我要和公主结婚！
Māma! Wǒ yào hé gōngzhǔ jiéhūn!
Mom! I'm going to marry the princess!
- Aladdin's Mother 什么？你这个孩子，是不是疯了？
Shénme? Nǐ zhège háizi, shì bú shì fēng le?
What? Oh, you silly boy, have you lost your mind?
