Wǒ xiǎng kàn dàwáng xiào. Dàwáng xiào, wǒ jiù hěn gāoxìng.
I just want to watch Your Majesty laugh. When you laugh, I am so happy.
- King Zhou 哈哈，我天天笑！来，喝酒！
Hāhā, wǒ tiāntiān xiào! Lái, hē jiǔ!
Ha ha, I laugh every day! Come, let's drink!

Wánjù? Nǐ yào shénme, wǒ gěi nǐ zhǎo!
A toy? Whatever you want, I'll find it!
- Daji 我想看漂亮的灯。城里的灯，都点起来！
Wǒ xiǎng kàn piàoliang de dēng. Chéng lǐ de dēng, dōu diǎn qǐlái!
I want to see pretty lanterns. Light every lantern in the city!
- King Zhou 好！全城的灯，明天晚上都点起来！你高兴，我就高兴。
Hǎo! Quán chéng de dēng, míngtiān wǎnshang dōu diǎn qǐlái! Nǐ gāoxìng, wǒ jiù gāoxìng.
Good! Every lantern in the city will be lit tomorrow night! If you are happy, I am happy.
- King Zhou 咦？狗怎么叫了？
Yí? Gǒu zěnme jiào le?
Huh? Why are the dogs barking?
- King Zhou 我的狗从来不叫。今天怎么了？
Wǒ de gǒu cónglái bú jiào. Jīntiān zěnme le?
My dogs never bark. What's wrong with them today?
- Daji 大概……它们太爱我了。
Dàgài… tāmen tài ài wǒ le.
Maybe… they just love me too much.
- King Zhou 哈哈！爱你，所以叫！好狗！
Hāhā! Ài nǐ, suǒyǐ jiào! Hǎo gǒu!
Ha ha! They love you, so they bark! Good dogs!
- Daji 大王，让狗走开吧。我不喜欢它们。
Dàwáng, ràng gǒu zǒukāi ba. Wǒ bù xǐhuan tāmen.
Your Majesty, send the dogs away. I don't like them.
- King Zhou 好好好，把狗带走！妲己不高兴了！
Hǎo hǎo hǎo, bǎ gǒu dài zǒu! Dájǐ bù gāoxìng le!
All right, all right, take the dogs away! Daji is upset!
- Daji 还好……差一点儿，我的尾巴就露出来了。
Hái hǎo… chà yìdiǎnr, wǒ de wěiba jiù lù chūlái le.
Phew… my tail almost came out.
- Shang Rong 大王，我要回家了。我老了，您也不想听我说话。我在宫里，已经很多年了。
Dàwáng, wǒ yào huíjiā le. Wǒ lǎo le, nín yě bù xiǎng tīng wǒ shuōhuà. Wǒ zài gōng lǐ, yǐjīng hěn duō nián le.
Your Majesty, I am going home. I'm old, and you don't want to hear me anyway. I have served in this palace for many years.
- King Zhou 走吧走吧。宫里有妲己，我不需要你。
Zǒu ba zǒu ba. Gōng lǐ yǒu Dájǐ, wǒ bù xūyào nǐ.
Go, go. I have Daji in the palace. I don't need you.
- Shang Rong 大王，您的狗为什么怕她？狗是不会说谎的。
Dàwáng, nín de gǒu wèishénme pà tā? Gǒu shì bú huì shuōhuǎng de.
Your Majesty, why are your dogs afraid of her? Dogs do not lie.
- King Zhou 你说什么？你说妲己是……
Nǐ shuō shénme? Nǐ shuō Dájǐ shì…
What did you say? Are you saying Daji is…
- Shang Rong 我不知道她是什么。我只知道，人不会让狗怕成这样。
Wǒ bù zhīdào tā shì shénme. Wǒ zhǐ zhīdào, rén bú huì ràng gǒu pà chéng zhèyàng.
I don't know what she is. I only know that a person cannot frighten dogs like that.
- King Zhou 够了！你走！
Gòu le! Nǐ zǒu!
Enough! Get out!
- Shang Rong 谁能看出她的真脸呢？没有人能帮我们了吗？
Shéi néng kànchū tā de zhēn liǎn ne? Méiyǒu rén néng bāng wǒmen le ma?
Who could see her true face? Is there no one who can help us?
- Shang Rong 对了，西岐有一位姜太公。听说他什么妖怪都认识。
Duì le, Xīqí yǒu yí wèi Jiāng Tàigōng. Tīngshuō tā shénme yāoguài dōu rènshi.
Wait. In Xiqi there is Jiang Taigong. They say he knows every kind of monster.
- Farmer 大人，您也要走了吗？我们以后怎么办？我们已经没有饭吃了。
Dàrén, nín yě yào zǒu le ma? Wǒmen yǐhòu zěnme bàn? Wǒmen yǐjīng méiyǒu fàn chī le.
My lord, are you leaving too? What will we do now? We have no food left.
- Shang Rong 我不是走。我是去找一个能帮我们的人。请你们再等一等。
Wǒ bú shì zǒu. Wǒ shì qù zhǎo yí gè néng bāng wǒmen de rén. Qǐng nǐmen zài děng yi děng.
I'm not running away. I'm going to find someone who can help us. Please wait a little longer.
- Farmer 那你快去吧！我们等你！
Nà nǐ kuài qù ba! Wǒmen děng nǐ!
Then hurry! We'll wait for you!
- Shang Rong 妲己，你等着。有一面镜子，会照出你的真脸。
Dájǐ, nǐ děngzhe. Yǒu yí miàn jìngzi, huì zhào chū nǐ de zhēn liǎn.
