The Fengshen Terrace
封神台
The war is over and a tall terrace glows with golden lights. Old Jiang Ziya calls the names of the good and the brave, and one sleepy warrior turns down a seat in heaven.

- Narrator 封神台建好了。天亮的时候，台下飘起了很多很多金色的小光。
Fēngshéntái jiàn hǎo le. Tiān liàng de shíhou, tái xià piāo qǐ le hěn duō hěn duō jīnsè de xiǎo guāng.
The Fengshen Terrace was finished. At daybreak, many, many tiny golden lights floated up from below it.
- King Wu 太公，这些光是什么？它们像星星，可是它们在往上飞。
Tàigōng, zhèxiē guāng shì shénme? Tāmen xiàng xīngxing, kěshì tāmen zài wǎng shàng fēi.
Master Jiang, what are these lights? They look like stars, but they are flying upward.
- Jiang Ziya 它们是在这场战争里走了的人。有好人，有坏人，也有做错了事的人。
Tāmen shì zài zhè chǎng zhànzhēng lǐ zǒu le de rén. Yǒu hǎorén, yǒu huàirén, yě yǒu zuò cuò le shì de rén.
They are the people who were lost in this war. Some were good, some were bad, and some made mistakes.

Where are they all going?
- Jiang Ziya 好人，我会给他们一个位子，让他们做神，去保护人间。
Hǎorén, wǒ huì gěi tāmen yí gè wèizi, ràng tāmen zuò shén, qù bǎohù rénjiān.
The good ones I will give a seat, so they can be gods and protect the human world.
- King Wu 那做错了事的人呢？
Nà zuò cuò le shì de rén ne?
And what about the ones who made mistakes?
- Jiang Ziya 做神，不是因为一辈子没有做错事，而是因为心里有光。
Zuò shén, bú shì yīnwèi yíbèizi méiyǒu zuò cuò shì, ér shì yīnwèi xīn lǐ yǒu guāng.
Being a god is not about never making a mistake. It is about having light in your heart.
- King Wu 太公，您真是一位好老师。我父亲没有看错人。
Tàigōng, nín zhēn shì yí wèi hǎo lǎoshī. Wǒ fùqīn méiyǒu kàn cuò rén.
Master Jiang, you are a truly good teacher. My father chose the right man.
- Jiang Ziya 现在，我要念他们的名字了。第一个是闻仲。
Xiànzài, wǒ yào niàn tāmen de míngzi le. Dì-yī gè shì Wén Zhòng.
Now I will read out their names. The first is Wen Zhong.
- Jiang Ziya 闻仲，你对你的大王很忠心。请你去管天上的雷。
Wén Zhòng, nǐ duì nǐ de dàwáng hěn zhōngxīn. Qǐng nǐ qù guǎn tiān shàng de léi.
Wen Zhong, you were loyal to your king. Please go and take charge of thunder in the sky.
- King Wu 看，光一个一个飞上天了！好像一场倒着下的金色的雨！
Kàn, guāng yí gè yí gè fēi shàng tiān le! Hǎoxiàng yì chǎng dàozhe xià de jīnsè de yǔ!
Look, the lights are flying up one by one! It's like a golden rain falling backward!
- Jiang Ziya 是啊。现在，我要叫两个年轻人了。
Shì a. Xiànzài, wǒ yào jiào liǎng gè niánqīng rén le.
Yes. Now I want to call two young people.
- Jiang Ziya 哪吒！杨戬！上来吧！
Nézha! Yáng Jiǎn! Shànglái ba!
Nezha! Yang Jian! Come up!
- Nezha 太公！我在这儿！我飞上来的！
Tàigōng! Wǒ zài zhèr! Wǒ fēi shànglái de!
Master Jiang! I'm here! I flew up!
- Yang Jian (Erlang Shen) 我是走上来的。一百个台阶，我睡着了三次。
Wǒ shì zǒu shànglái de. Yì bǎi gè táijiē, wǒ shuìzháo le sān cì.
I walked up. A hundred steps, and I fell asleep three times.
- Jiang Ziya 哪吒，你救过一座城，也学会了什么叫怕，什么叫爱。我封你做大神，让你去保护小孩子。
Nézha, nǐ jiù guo yí zuò chéng, yě xuéhuì le shénme jiào pà, shénme jiào ài. Wǒ fēng nǐ zuò dàshén, ràng nǐ qù bǎohù xiǎo háizi.
Nezha, you saved a city and learned what fear is and what love is. I name you a great god, to protect children.
- Nezha 保护小孩子？我也是小孩子！我保护我自己，也保护大家！
Bǎohù xiǎo háizi? Wǒ yě shì xiǎo háizi! Wǒ bǎohù wǒ zìjǐ, yě bǎohù dàjiā!
Protect children? I'm a child too! I'll protect myself, and everybody else!
- Jiang Ziya 杨戬，你的第三只眼，看清了真的和假的。你也要一个位子吗？
Yáng Jiǎn, nǐ de dì-sān zhī yǎn, kànqīng le zhēn de hé jiǎ de. Nǐ yě yào yí gè wèizi ma?
Yang Jian, your third eye saw what is true and what is false. Would you like a seat too?
- Yang Jian (Erlang Shen) 谢谢太公。可是我喜欢我的山，我的狗，还有我的懒觉。
Xièxie Tàigōng. Kěshì wǒ xǐhuan wǒ de shān, wǒ de gǒu, hái yǒu wǒ de lǎnjiào.
Thank you, Master Jiang. But I like my mountain, my dog, and my long naps.
- Jiang Ziya 哈哈！好。天上不封你，人间也不会忘了你。
Hā hā! Hǎo. Tiān shàng bù fēng nǐ, rénjiān yě bú huì wàng le nǐ.
Ha ha! Good. Heaven won't name you, but the human world won't forget you.
- Nezha 杨戬，下次我们比赛，看谁跑得快，好不好？
Yáng Jiǎn, xià cì wǒmen bǐsài, kàn shéi pǎo de kuài, hǎo bu hǎo?
Yang Jian, next time let's race and see who is faster, all right?
- Yang Jian (Erlang Shen) 好啊。你先跑，我明天早上再去追你。
Hǎo a. Nǐ xiān pǎo, wǒ míngtiān zǎoshang zài qù zhuī nǐ.
Sure. You run first, and I'll chase you tomorrow morning.
- Narrator 很多天以后，渭河边，太阳慢慢落下去了。
Hěn duō tiān yǐhòu, Wèihé biān, tàiyáng mànmàn luò xià qù le.
Many days later, by the Wei River, the sun was slowly going down.
- Jiang Ziya 天下太平了。周国有了新的大王，孩子们也长大了。
Tiānxià tàipíng le. Zhōuguó yǒu le xīn de dàwáng, háizimen yě zhǎngdà le.
The land is at peace. Zhou has a new king, and the children are growing up.
- Jiang Ziya 这根直直的鱼钩，我又拿起来了。它一点儿也没有变。
Zhè gēn zhízhí de yúgōu, wǒ yòu ná qǐlái le. Tā yìdiǎnr yě méiyǒu biàn.
I've picked up this straight hook again. It hasn't changed a bit.
- Jiang Ziya 我等过一个大王，等过一个孩子，也等过很多很多年。
Wǒ děng guo yí gè dàwáng, děng guo yí gè háizi, yě děng guo hěn duō hěn duō nián.
I waited for a king, I waited for a child, and I waited for many, many years.
- Jiang Ziya 现在，我只想等一条愿意来的鱼。
Xiànzài, wǒ zhǐ xiǎng děng yì tiáo yuànyì lái de yú.
Now I just want to wait for a fish that is willing to come.
- Jiang Ziya 咦，水动了。愿者上钩……不，是鱼自己跳进篮子里了！
Yí, shuǐ dòng le. Yuànzhě shànggōu… bù, shì yú zìjǐ tiào jìn lánzi lǐ le!
Oh, the water moved. The willing one takes the hook... no, the fish jumped into the basket by itself!
- Jiang Ziya 哈哈。好，今天晚上，有鱼汤喝了。
Hā hā. Hǎo, jīntiān wǎnshang, yǒu yú tāng hē le.
Ha ha. Good, tonight there will be fish soup.
- Jiang Ziya 明天再来。鱼在等我，好日子也在等我们。
Míngtiān zài lái. Yú zài děng wǒ, hǎo rìzi yě zài děng wǒmen.
I'll come again tomorrow. The fish are waiting for me, and good days are waiting for all of us.
