A Glass of Water
一杯水
At dusk, in the rain at Ferndean, a glass of water is going in to the master. Jane carries it in herself, and Pilot is the first to know her.

That same day, just before dark, Jane came to Ferndean.
- Jane Eyre 下雨了。这里的树真多……他就住在这里吗？
Xià yǔ le. Zhèlǐ de shù zhēn duō… tā jiù zhù zài zhèlǐ ma?
It's raining. So many trees here... Does he really live here?
- Narrator 门开了，罗切斯特先生走了出来，把一只手放在雨里。
Mén kāi le, Luóqièsītè xiānsheng zǒu le chūlai, bǎ yì zhī shǒu fàng zài yǔ li.
The door opened, and Mr. Rochester stepped out and put one hand in the rain.

Still raining... Is it dark yet?
- Jane Eyre 是他！可是他的样子那么难过……他看不见我。

It's him! But he looks so sad... He can't see me.
- Narrator 他又回到了房子里。一个老用人给简开了门。

He went back into the house. An old servant opened the door for Jane.
- Jane Eyre 这杯水是给主人的吗？给我吧，我拿进去。
Zhè bēi shuǐ shì gěi zhǔrén de ma? Gěi wǒ ba, wǒ ná jìnqu.
Is this water for the master? Give it to me. I'll take it in.
- Jane Eyre 派洛特，别跳了！快下来！
Pàiluòtè, bié tiào le! Kuài xiàlai!
Pilot, stop jumping! Get down!
- Mr. Rochester 派洛特，你怎么了？把水给我。
Pàiluòtè, nǐ zěnme le? Bǎ shuǐ gěi wǒ.
Pilot, what's the matter with you? Give me the water.
- Jane Eyre 给您，先生。
Gěi nín, xiānsheng.
Here you are, sir.
- Mr. Rochester 这个声音……谁在这儿？
Zhège shēngyīn… shéi zài zhèr?
That voice... Who's here?
- Jane Eyre 派洛特认识我。我今天晚上刚到。
Pàiluòtè rènshi wǒ. Wǒ jīntiān wǎnshang gāng dào.
Pilot knows me. I only got here this evening.
- Mr. Rochester 让我拉住你的手。这么小……是简吗？
Ràng wǒ lā zhù nǐ de shǒu. Zhème xiǎo… shì Jiǎn ma?
Let me hold your hand. So small... Is it Jane?
- Jane Eyre 我是简·爱。我找到您了，我回到您身边了。
Wǒ shì Jiǎn Ài. Wǒ zhǎo dào nín le, wǒ huí dào nín shēnbiān le.
I'm Jane Eyre. I've found you. I've come back to you.
- Mr. Rochester 又是梦吗？每次醒来，你都不见了。
Yòu shì mèng ma? Měi cì xǐnglái, nǐ dōu bú jiàn le.
Is it another dream? Every time I wake up, you're gone.
- Jane Eyre 这不是梦，先生。梦里的人会给您拿水吗？
Zhè bú shì mèng, xiānsheng. Mèng li de rén huì gěi nín ná shuǐ ma?
This isn't a dream, sir. Would someone in a dream bring you water?
- Mr. Rochester 可是小简，我瞎了，只有一只手了。
Kěshì Xiǎo Jiǎn, wǒ xiā le, zhǐyǒu yì zhī shǒu le.
But Janet, I'm blind, and I have only one hand now.
- Jane Eyre 我知道。桑菲尔德都烧了，我看见了。
Wǒ zhīdào. Sāngfēi'ěrdé dōu shāo le, wǒ kànjiàn le.
I know. Thornfield is all burned. I saw it.
- Mr. Rochester 你没有钱，一个人怎么来的？
Nǐ méiyǒu qián, yí gè rén zěnme lái de?
You have no money. How did you get here all alone?
- Jane Eyre 我有钱了，先生。我在马德拉的叔叔死了，我现在有五千英镑。
Wǒ yǒu qián le, xiānsheng. Wǒ zài Mǎdélā de shūshu sǐ le, wǒ xiànzài yǒu wǔqiān yīngbàng.
I have money now, sir. My uncle in Madeira has died, and now I have five thousand pounds.
- Mr. Rochester 五千英镑？那这不是梦了。我梦里的简，一英镑也没有！
Wǔqiān yīngbàng? Nà zhè bú shì mèng le. Wǒ mèng li de Jiǎn, yì yīngbàng yě méiyǒu!
Five thousand pounds? Then this isn't a dream. The Jane in my dreams never has a single pound!
- Mr. Rochester 你有钱了……那你还会走吗？
Nǐ yǒu qián le… nà nǐ hái huì zǒu ma?
You're rich now... So will you go away again?
- Jane Eyre 我不走，先生。我会住在您身边，给您读书，做您的朋友。
Wǒ bù zǒu, xiānsheng. Wǒ huì zhù zài nín shēnbiān, gěi nín dú shū, zuò nín de péngyou.
I'm not going, sir. I'll live beside you, read to you, and be your friend.

You little Janet! Same as ever, you'd dare to say anything!

Yes... In this whole year, I haven't laughed once.

It's late, sir. Go to sleep. Even after you fall asleep, I won't go.
