Christmas at Moor House

Christmas brings Diana and Mary home, and Jane fills Moor House with fire and light. Only St. John stays cold, and in May he walks Jane into the hills with something to ask.

Hannah, rich people can wash windows too. Christmas is nearly here; go and cook something good!

Diana, it's once a month now.

Jane, stop your lessons with Diana for now. Learn the language of India with me.

The language of India? What would I learn that for?

St. John, when you say good night, give Jane a kiss too! She's our cousin.

One fine day in May, St. John walked with Jane into the hills, to a place where there was no one at all.

Jane, my ship sails in six weeks.
