Autumn came. Jane was a teacher in Morton, with twenty girls in her school.

I'm busy. Next week, perhaps.
- Rosamond 你每次都说下个星期！好吧，再见，艾略特小姐！
Nǐ měi cì dōu shuō xià gè xīngqī! Hǎo ba, zàijiàn, Àilüètè xiǎojie!
You always say next week! Oh well, goodbye, Miss Elliott!
- Jane Eyre 圣约翰一直看着她走出去。他爱她，她也爱他。
Shèng Yuēhàn yìzhí kànzhe tā zǒu chūqu. Tā ài tā, tā yě ài tā.
St. John watched her all the way out. He loves her, and she loves him.

On the fifth of November the school had a holiday. That afternoon, Jane finished a picture.

Lǐfúsī xiānsheng, nín lái de zhènghǎo. Nín kàn, zhè shì shéi?
Mr. Rivers, you've come at just the right time. Look, who is this?
- St. John 奥利弗小姐……画得真像她。
Àolìfú xiǎojie… huà de zhēn xiàng tā.
Miss Oliver... It looks just like her.
- Jane Eyre 您爱她，对吗？她也爱您。您为什么不跟她结婚呢？

You love her, don't you? And she loves you. Why don't you marry her?

I'll give myself fifteen minutes. Just fifteen minutes to dream.

St. John looked at the picture and said not a word.
- St. John 十五分钟到了。我要做传教士，我已经选了印度。

The fifteen minutes are up. I am going to be a missionary. I have chosen India.
- Jane Eyre 里弗斯先生，您的心是冰做的吗？
Lǐfúsī xiānsheng, nín de xīn shì bīng zuò de ma?
Mr. Rivers, is your heart made of ice?
- St. John 不是。所以我才要快一点儿走。
Bú shì. Suǒyǐ wǒ cái yào kuài yìdiǎnr zǒu.
No. That is why I must go soon.

He picked up a sheet of paper and laid it over the picture. He looked at its edge for a long time.
