十年
Jane speaks to the reader one last time. A small church, an unhappy girl at a strict school, a letter from India, and ten years that bring Mr. Rochester a gift.

A few weeks later, they were married in a small church. There were no guests, only a clergyman.

I must write to Diana and Mary too. They'll be so glad.
- Mr. Rochester 那圣约翰呢？你也给他写吗？
Nà Shèng Yuēhàn ne? Nǐ yě gěi tā xiě ma?
And St. John? Will you write to him too?
- Jane Eyre 也写。可是他那么冷，不一定会回我。
Yě xiě. Kěshì tā nàme lěng, bù yídìng huì huí wǒ.
I'll write to him too. But he's so cold, he may not answer me.
- Narrator 那年秋天，简去学校看阿黛尔。
Nà nián qiūtiān, Jiǎn qù xuéxiào kàn Ādài'ěr.
That autumn, Jane went to the school to see Adele.
- Adele 小姐！是您吗？您来看我了！
Xiǎojie! Shì nín ma? Nín lái kàn wǒ le!
Miss! Is it you? You've come to see me!
- Jane Eyre 阿黛尔，你的脸怎么这么白？这里不好吗？
Ādài'ěr, nǐ de liǎn zěnme zhème bái? Zhèlǐ bù hǎo ma?
Adele, why are you so pale? Isn't it nice here?
- Adele 这里的老师很冷，不让我们笑。小姐，我想回家。
Zhèlǐ de lǎoshī hěn lěng, bú ràng wǒmen xiào. Xiǎojie, wǒ xiǎng huí jiā.
The teachers here are cold. They don't let us laugh. Miss, I want to go home.
- Jane Eyre 好。我给你找一个离家近的学校，你可以常常回家。
Hǎo. Wǒ gěi nǐ zhǎo yí gè lí jiā jìn de xuéxiào, nǐ kěyǐ chángcháng huí jiā.
All right. I'll find you a school close to home, so you can come home often.
- Adele 真的吗？太好了！小姐，我高兴得要跳起来了！
Zhēn de ma? Tài hǎo le! Xiǎojie, wǒ gāoxìng de yào tiào qǐlai le!
Really? How wonderful! Miss, I'm so happy I could jump!
- Jane Eyre 慢一点儿，阿黛尔！你已经是大女孩了。
Màn yìdiǎnr, Ādài'ěr! Nǐ yǐjīng shì dà nǚhái le.
Slow down, Adele! You're a big girl now.
- Narrator 阿黛尔慢慢长大了，又懂事，又快乐。十年过去了。
Ādài'ěr mànmàn zhǎngdà le, yòu dǒngshì, yòu kuàilè. Shí nián guòqù le.
Little by little Adele grew up, sensible and happy. Ten years went by.
- Jane Eyre 爱德华，圣约翰从印度给我写信了！
Àidéhuá, Shèng Yuēhàn cóng Yìndù gěi wǒ xiě xìn le!
Edward, St. John has written to me from India!
- Mr. Rochester 他说什么？还是那么冷吗？
Tā shuō shénme? Háishi nàme lěng ma?
What does he say? Is he still as cold as ever?
- Jane Eyre 他写的都是他在印度的工作。可是爱德华，他的信里没有冰了。
Tā xiě de dōu shì tā zài Yìndù de gōngzuò. Kěshì Àidéhuá, tā de xìn li méiyǒu bīng le.
All he writes about is his work in India. But Edward, there's no ice in his letter anymore.
- Mr. Rochester 黛安娜和玛丽都结婚了。他呢？还是一个人吗？
Dài'ānnà hé Mǎlì dōu jiéhūn le. Tā ne? Hái shì yí gè rén ma?
Diana and Mary are both married. And him? Is he still alone?
- Jane Eyre 还是一个人。他病得很重，可是他说他不怕，很快就要回到上帝身边了。
Hái shì yí gè rén. Tā bìng de hěn zhòng, kěshì tā shuō tā bú pà, hěn kuài jiù yào huí dào Shàngdì shēnbiān le.
Still alone. He's very ill, but he says he isn't afraid. Soon he'll go home to God.
- Jane Eyre 爱德华，我们结婚十年了。
Àidéhuá, wǒmen jiéhūn shí nián le.
Edward, we've been married ten years.
- Mr. Rochester 十年了。我的眼睛瞎了，你就做了我的眼睛。
Shí nián le. Wǒ de yǎnjing xiā le, nǐ jiù zuò le wǒ de yǎnjing.
Ten years. My eyes went blind, so you became my eyes.
- Jane Eyre 是啊。我给你读书，告诉你花是什么颜色，天是什么样子。
Shì a. Wǒ gěi nǐ dú shū, gàosu nǐ huā shì shénme yánsè, tiān shì shénme yàngzi.
Yes. I read to you, and told you what color the flowers were and what the sky looked like.
- Mr. Rochester 我们两个人每天都有说不完的话。
Wǒmen liǎng gè rén měi tiān dōu yǒu shuō bu wán de huà.
The two of us never ran out of things to say, not one day.

And you still love asking questions!
- Mr. Rochester 你还记得吗？结婚两年以后，我的右眼又能看见一点儿了。
Nǐ hái jìde ma? Jiéhūn liǎng nián yǐhòu, wǒ de yòuyǎn yòu néng kànjiàn yìdiǎnr le.
Do you remember? Two years after we married, my right eye could see a little again.

Nà yì nián, tāmen de dì yī gè érzi chūshēng le. Luóqièsītè xiānsheng bàozhe tā, kàn le hěn jiǔ.
That year, their first son was born. Mr. Rochester held him and looked at him for a long time.
- Mr. Rochester 简，我看见他了！他的眼睛又大又黑，跟我以前的一样！
Jiǎn, wǒ kànjiàn tā le! Tā de yǎnjing yòu dà yòu hēi, gēn wǒ yǐqián de yíyàng!
Jane, I can see him! His eyes are big and black, just like mine used to be!
