The Wedding Morning

The wedding morning comes at last. There is no carriage and there are no guests, only a little church, Mr. Wood with his book, and two strangers at the back.

Coming, sir. But where's the carriage? Where are the guests?

No carriage and no guests. The church is right by the gates. We'll walk there.

Sir, you're walking too fast! My veil is about to blow away.
- Mr. Rochester 快走吧，小简。我一分钟也不想等了。
Kuài zǒu ba, Xiǎo Jiǎn. Wǒ yì fēnzhōng yě bù xiǎng děng le.
Come on, Janet. I can't wait one more minute.
- Jane Eyre 他今天怎么了？走得那么快，好像在怕什么。
Tā jīntiān zěnme le? Zǒu de nàme kuài, hǎoxiàng zài pà shénme.
What's wrong with him today? Walking so fast, as if he were afraid of something.

In the little church, the clergyman, Mr. Wood, was already waiting for them.

Why are two men standing at the back of the church? Who are they?
- Mr. Wood 罗切斯特先生，爱小姐，请到前边来。

Mr. Rochester, Miss Eyre, please come forward.
- Mr. Wood 如果有人知道他们为什么不能结婚，请现在说出来。

If anyone knows why these two may not marry, let him speak now.

Wait! Mr. Rochester cannot marry.

- Mr. Briggs 我叫布里格斯，是伦敦的律师。罗切斯特先生，您已经有妻子了。
Wǒ jiào Bùlǐgésī, shì Lúndūn de lǜshī. Luóqièsītè xiānsheng, nín yǐjīng yǒu qīzi le.
My name is Briggs. I'm a lawyer from London. Mr. Rochester, you already have a wife.
- Mr. Wood 罗切斯特先生，这是真的吗？
Luóqièsītè xiānsheng, zhè shì zhēn de ma?
Mr. Rochester, is this true?
- Mr. Briggs 我这儿有一张纸。十五年前，在牙买加，罗切斯特先生和伯莎·梅森结婚了。

I have a paper here. Fifteen years ago, in Jamaica, Mr. Rochester married Bertha Mason.

All right, I'll say it. It's true. I already have a wife.
- Mr. Rochester 可是她疯了。她妈妈也疯了。

But she is mad. And her mother was mad too.
- Mr. Rochester 伍德，把书放下吧。今天不会有人结婚了。
Wǔdé, bǎ shū fàngxià ba. Jīntiān bú huì yǒu rén jiéhūn le.
Wood, put your book down. Nobody is getting married today.
- Mr. Rochester 都跟我来，去看看她！
Dōu gēn wǒ lái, qù kànkan tā!
