At the icy ravine the white horse is gone and a proud dragon is to blame, so Wukong churns the water and calls up the local gods to hunt him down.

Dōngtiān de Yīngchóu Jiàn, fēng hěn dà, shuǐ hěn lěng. Táng Sēng zhàn zài shuǐbiān, bù shuōhuà.
Winter at Eagle Grief Ravine: the wind was strong and the water was cold. Tang Seng stood at the water's edge and said nothing.
- Tang Seng 悟空……我的白马，真的没有了？
Wùkōng… wǒ de báimǎ, zhēn de méiyǒu le?
Wukong... is my white horse really gone?
- Sun Wukong 师父别急！老孙的火眼金睛，白天能看一千里！
Shīfu bié jí! Lǎo Sūn de huǒyǎn jīnjīng, báitiān néng kàn yìqiān lǐ!
Easy, Master! By day, Old Sun's fiery golden eyes can see a thousand li!

Dōngbian, xībian, shuǐ lǐ… dōu méiyǒu!
East, west, in the water... nothing!
- Tang Seng 别找了。一定是那条龙吞了它。没有马，我怎么去西天？
Bié zhǎo le. Yídìng shì nà tiáo lóng tūn le tā. Méiyǒu mǎ, wǒ zěnme qù Xītiān?
Stop looking. That dragon must have swallowed it. Without a horse, how will I ever reach the Western Heaven?
- Sun Wukong 师父，你怎么又哭了？你一哭，老孙心里就乱！
Shīfu, nǐ zěnme yòu kū le? Nǐ yì kū, Lǎo Sūn xīnlǐ jiù luàn!
Master, crying again? When you cry, Old Sun can't think straight!
- Sun Wukong 你先坐着。老孙去打那条龙，要回我们的马！
Nǐ xiān zuòzhe. Lǎo Sūn qù dǎ nà tiáo lóng, yàohuí wǒmen de mǎ!
You sit tight. Old Sun will go and beat that dragon and get our horse back!
- Tang Seng 你走了，我一个人……那条龙再出来，怎么办？
Nǐ zǒu le, wǒ yí gè rén… Nà tiáo lóng zài chūlai, zěnme bàn?
If you go, I'll be all alone... What if that dragon comes out again?
- Narrator 天上有人说：“大圣放心！我们是菩萨叫来的，会保护唐僧。”
Tiānshàng yǒu rén shuō: “Dàshèng fàngxīn! Wǒmen shì Púsà jiào lái de, huì bǎohù Táng Sēng.”
A voice spoke from the sky: “Don't worry, Great Sage! Guanyin sent us. We will guard Tang Seng.”
- Sun Wukong 好！保护好我师父！他哭一下，老孙打你们一下！
Hǎo! Bǎohù hǎo wǒ shīfu! Tā kū yíxià, Lǎo Sūn dǎ nǐmen yíxià!
Good! Take good care of my master! Every time he cries, Old Sun gives you a whack!
- Tang Seng 悟空，小心那条龙！
Wùkōng, xiǎoxīn nà tiáo lóng!
Wukong, watch out for that dragon!
- Sun Wukong 那条龙！快给老孙出来！
Nà tiáo lóng! Kuài gěi Lǎo Sūn chūlai!
You, dragon! Get out here, now!
- Little White Dragon 谁这么大声？我在睡觉呢！你是什么人？
Shéi zhème dàshēng? Wǒ zài shuìjiào ne! Nǐ shì shénme rén?
Who's making all that noise? I'm sleeping! Who are you?
- Sun Wukong 老孙是齐天大圣！看我的金箍棒！
Lǎo Sūn shì Qítiān Dàshèng! Kàn wǒ de jīn gū bàng!
I am the Great Sage Equal to Heaven! Taste my Golden-Hoop Staff!
- Narrator 他们在水边打了很久。小白龙打不过，又跳回了水里。
Tāmen zài shuǐbiān dǎ le hěn jiǔ. Xiǎo Báilóng dǎ bu guò, yòu tiào huí le shuǐ lǐ.
They fought by the water for a long time. The Little White Dragon couldn't win, and leapt back into the water.
- Sun Wukong 不出来？好！金箍棒，大！大！大！
Bù chūlai? Hǎo! Jīn gū bàng, dà! Dà! Dà!
Won't come out? Fine! Staff, grow! Grow! Grow!
- Little White Dragon 你这个猴子！我的家都让你打乱了！
Nǐ zhège hóuzi! Wǒ de jiā dōu ràng nǐ dǎ luàn le!
You monkey! You've turned my whole home upside down!
- Sun Wukong 谁叫你吃了我们的马？
Shéi jiào nǐ chī le wǒmen de mǎ?
Who told you to eat our horse?
- Little White Dragon 马？是我吞的。吞了就没有了，你叫我怎么给你？
Mǎ? Shì wǒ tūn de. Tūn le jiù méiyǒu le, nǐ jiào wǒ zěnme gěi nǐ?
The horse? Yes, I swallowed it. Once it's swallowed, it's gone. How am I supposed to give it back?
- Sun Wukong 不给？那就再打！
Bù gěi? Nà jiù zài dǎ!
You won't? Then we fight again!
- Little White Dragon 打不过他……我变成一条蛇，躲到草里去！
Dǎ bu guò tā… Wǒ biànchéng yì tiáo shé, duǒ dào cǎo lǐ qù!
I can't beat him... I'll turn into a snake and hide in the grass!
- Sun Wukong 龙呢？草这么多，火眼金睛也找不到……这里的神！都给老孙出来！
Lóng ne? Cǎo zhème duō, huǒyǎn jīnjīng yě zhǎo bu dào… Zhèlǐ de shén! Dōu gěi Lǎo Sūn chūlai!
Where's the dragon? So much grass, even fiery golden eyes can't find him... Gods of this place! Get out here, all of you!
- Sun Wukong 来了？你们来得太慢了！过来，一个打五下！
Lái le? Nǐmen lái de tài màn le! Guòlai, yí gè dǎ wǔ xià!
Here at last? You took your time! Come here, five whacks each!
- Narrator 两个老人跪下说：“大圣别打！这条龙是观音菩萨放在这里的！”
Liǎng gè lǎorén guìxià shuō: “Dàshèng bié dǎ! Zhè tiáo lóng shì Guānyīn Púsà fàng zài zhèlǐ de!”
Two old men knelt and said, “Don't hit us, Great Sage! Guanyin herself put this dragon here!”
- Sun Wukong 又是观音？她的龙，吃了我师父的马！
Yòu shì Guānyīn? Tā de lóng, chī le wǒ shīfu de mǎ!
Guanyin again? Her dragon ate my master's horse!
- Narrator 天上的人说：“大圣别急，我们这就去南海请菩萨！”
Tiānshàng de rén shuō: “Dàshèng bié jí, wǒmen zhè jiù qù Nán Hǎi qǐng Púsà!”
The voice from the sky said, “Easy, Great Sage. We'll go to the Southern Sea right now and bring Guanyin!”
- Sun Wukong 好！观音要来了！老孙正想问问她，那顶帽子是怎么回事！
Hǎo! Guānyīn yào lái le! Lǎo Sūn zhèng xiǎng wènwen tā, nà dǐng màozi shì zěnme huí shì!
Good! Guanyin's coming! Old Sun has been wanting to ask her what that cap business was all about!
