打虎的人
Dawn comes, and Tang Seng is still tied up alone in the tiger's den, waiting for the tiger to come back. Did anyone hear his prayer?

- Narrator 天亮了。老虎的洞里，唐僧的手和脚还绑着。
Tiān liàng le. Lǎohǔ de dòng lǐ, Táng Sēng de shǒu hé jiǎo hái bǎngzhe.
Dawn came. In the tiger's den, Tang Seng's hands and feet were still tied.
- Tang Seng 那两个客人走了。跟我来的两个人……没有了。都是我不好。
Nà liǎng gè kèrén zǒu le. Gēn wǒ lái de liǎng gè rén… méiyǒu le. Dōu shì wǒ bù hǎo.
The two guests have left. The two men who came with me... are gone. It's all my fault.
- Tang Seng 现在，我一个人在这里，等着老虎回来吃我……
Xiànzài, wǒ yí gè rén zài zhèlǐ, děngzhe lǎohǔ huílai chī wǒ…
And now I'm here all alone, waiting for the tiger to come back and eat me...

Yǒu rén lái le… shì yí gè lǎorénjia?
Someone's coming... an old man?
- Taibai Jinxing 别怕。起来吧，我带你出去。
Bié pà. Qǐlai ba, wǒ dài nǐ chūqu.
Don't be afraid. Get up. I'll take you out of here.
- Narrator 老人用手轻轻一碰，绑着唐僧的东西都掉了。
Lǎorén yòng shǒu qīngqīng yí pèng, bǎngzhe Táng Sēng de dōngxi dōu diào le.
The old man gave the ropes a light touch, and everything that bound Tang Seng fell away.
- Tang Seng 我能动了！老人家，您是谁？
Wǒ néng dòng le! Lǎorénjia, nín shì shéi?
I can move! Sir, who are you?
- Taibai Jinxing 先别问。你的那匹白马和你的东西，都在外边。
Xiān bié wèn. Nǐ de nà pǐ báimǎ hé nǐ de dōngxi, dōu zài wàibian.
Don't ask just yet. Your white horse and your things are all outside.
- Tang Seng 这里是什么地方？
Zhèlǐ shì shénme dìfang?
What is this place?
- Taibai Jinxing 这里是双叉岭，老虎住的地方。快走吧。
Zhèlǐ shì Shuāngchā Lǐng, lǎohǔ zhù de dìfang. Kuài zǒu ba.
This is Double Fork Ridge, where the tigers live. Come, quickly.
- Narrator 到了大路上，老人骑上一只白鸟，飞走了。
Dào le dàlù shàng, lǎorén qí shàng yì zhī bái niǎo, fēi zǒu le.
When they reached the road, the old man climbed onto a white bird and flew away.
- Tang Seng 老人家，您别走！这里……怎么有纸？
Lǎorénjia, nín bié zǒu! Zhèlǐ… zěnme yǒu zhǐ?
Sir, don't go! And what's this... a piece of paper?
- Tang Seng 上边有字：“我是太白金星，来救你。前边有人帮你，别怕。”
Shàngbian yǒu zì: “Wǒ shì Tàibái Jīnxīng, lái jiù nǐ. Qiánbian yǒu rén bāng nǐ, bié pà.”
There's writing on it: “I am Taibai Jinxing, come to save you. Someone ahead will help you. Don't be afraid.”
- Tang Seng 原来是太白金星！谢谢您！
Yuánlái shì Tàibái Jīnxīng! Xièxie nín!
So it was Taibai Jinxing! Thank you!
- Tang Seng 老虎！前边是老虎，后边也是老虎！
Lǎohǔ! Qiánbian shì lǎohǔ, hòubian yě shì lǎohǔ!
Tigers! Tigers in front of me, tigers behind me!
- Tang Seng 前边有人帮我……人呢？人在哪儿啊？
Qiánbian yǒu rén bāng wǒ… rén ne? Rén zài nǎr a?
“Someone ahead will help”... so where is he? Where?
- Liu Boqin 别怕，别怕！我来了！
Bié pà, bié pà! Wǒ lái le!
Don't be scared, don't be scared! I'm here!
- Narrator 一个打老虎的人跑了过来，和老虎打了起来。很快，老虎倒了，不动了。
Yí gè dǎ lǎohǔ de rén pǎo le guòlai, hé lǎohǔ dǎ le qǐlai. Hěn kuài, lǎohǔ dǎo le, bú dòng le.
A tiger hunter came running and fought the tiger. Soon the tiger fell and lay still.
- Liu Boqin 好了！这只山猫，够你吃一天！
Hǎo le! Zhè zhī shānmāo, gòu nǐ chī yì tiān!
There! This mountain cat will feed you for a whole day!
- Tang Seng 山猫？这……这是老虎啊！
Shānmāo? Zhè… zhè shì lǎohǔ a!
A mountain cat? That... that's a tiger!
- Liu Boqin 我叫刘伯钦。我没有别的本领，就会打老虎。
Wǒ jiào Liú Bóqīn. Wǒ méiyǒu bié de běnlǐng, jiù huì dǎ lǎohǔ.
The name's Liu Boqin. I've no other skill. Fighting tigers is all I know.
- Tang Seng 你一个人……打老虎？
Nǐ yí gè rén… dǎ lǎohǔ?
You fight tigers... all by yourself?
- Liu Boqin 老虎？不过是大一点儿的山猫！走，去我家吃肉！
Lǎohǔ? Búguò shì dà yìdiǎnr de shānmāo! Zǒu, qù wǒ jiā chī ròu!
Tigers? They're just mountain cats, only a bit bigger! Come on, let's go to my place and eat some meat!
- Tang Seng 对不起，我是出家人，不吃肉。
Duìbuqǐ, wǒ shì chūjiārén, bù chī ròu.
I'm sorry. I'm a monk, and I don't eat meat.
- Liu Boqin 不吃肉？那……你吃什么？
Bù chī ròu? Nà… nǐ chī shénme?
No meat? Then... what do you eat?
- Tang Seng 米饭和青菜，就很好了。
Mǐfàn hé qīngcài, jiù hěn hǎo le.
Some rice and greens would be wonderful.
- Liu Boqin 妈！这个师父不吃肉！碗要洗三遍，给他做米饭和青菜！
Mā! Zhège shīfu bù chī ròu! Wǎn yào xǐ sān biàn, gěi tā zuò mǐfàn hé qīngcài!
Ma! This monk doesn't eat meat! Wash the bowls three times and cook him rice and greens!
- Narrator 第二天，刘伯钦送唐僧来到一座大山下。
Dì èr tiān, Liú Bóqīn sòng Táng Sēng lái dào yí zuò dà shān xià.
The next day, Liu Boqin walked Tang Seng to the foot of a great mountain.
- Liu Boqin 这是五行山。山这边是大唐，山那边，就不是大唐了。
Zhè shì Wǔxíng Shān. Shān zhèbiān shì Dà Táng, shān nàbiān, jiù bú shì Dà Táng le.
This is the Five Elements Mountain. This side is the Great Tang. The other side isn't.
- Liu Boqin 我不能再往前走一步了。师父，你多小心！
Wǒ bù néng zài wǎng qián zǒu yí bù le. Shīfu, nǐ duō xiǎoxīn!
I can't go a single step farther. Take good care of yourself, Master!
- Tang Seng 你走了，我一个人怎么办？
Nǐ zǒu le, wǒ yí gè rén zěnme bàn?
If you go, what will I do all alone?
- Sun Wukong 我师父来了！我师父来了！
Wǒ shīfu lái le! Wǒ shīfu lái le!
My master's here! My master's here!
