Caught at last, Pinocchio won't open his mouth and the robbers' knife can't hurt him, but the night by the Big Oak grows colder and colder.

That night, in front of the white house, the two robbers held Pinocchio tight.

Puppet, open your mouth! If you don't, we'll kill you!

I'm made of wood! Your knives are no use at all!
- the Big Robber 好！那就挂在大橡树上！
Hǎo! Nà jiù guà zài Dà Xiàngshù shang!
Fine! Then hang him from the Big Oak!

- Narrator 他们用一条绳子，把匹诺曹挂在了大橡树上。
Tāmen yòng yì tiáo shéngzi, bǎ Pǐnuòcáo guà zài le Dà Xiàngshù shang.
With a rope, they hung Pinocchio from the Big Oak.
- Pinocchio 放开我！放开我！我要回家！
Fàngkāi wǒ! Fàngkāi wǒ! Wǒ yào huíjiā!
Let me go! Let me go! I want to go home!
- the Big Robber 我们坐在树下，等他死。他死了，金币都是我们的！
Wǒmen zuò zài shù xià, děng tā sǐ. Tā sǐ le, jīnbì dōu shì wǒmen de!
We'll sit under the tree and wait for him to die. Once he's dead, the gold coins are ours!
- the Small Robber ……都是我们的！
…Dōu shì wǒmen de!
...all ours!
- the Big Robber 三个小时了！他怎么还不死？
Sān gè xiǎoshí le! Tā zěnme hái bù sǐ?
Three hours already! Why isn't he dead yet?
- the Small Robber ……还不死。我好累啊，我想睡觉。
…Hái bù sǐ. Wǒ hǎo lèi a, wǒ xiǎng shuìjiào.
...not dead yet. I'm so tired. I want to go to sleep.
- the Big Robber 走吧！木偶，明天早上，你得死了，嘴要开着！
Zǒu ba! Mù'ǒu, míngtiān zǎoshang, nǐ děi sǐ le, zuǐ yào kāizhe!
Let's go! Puppet, by tomorrow morning you'd better be dead, with your mouth open!

- Narrator 两个黑口袋走了。大橡树下，一个人也没有了。
Liǎng gè hēi kǒudai zǒu le. Dà Xiàngshù xià, yí gè rén yě méiyǒu le.
The two black sacks went away. Under the Big Oak, there was no one at all.
- Pinocchio 他们走了……我一个人……好黑，好冷……
Tāmen zǒu le… wǒ yí gè rén… hǎo hēi, hǎo lěng…
They've gone... I'm all alone... So dark, so cold...
- Pinocchio 蟋蟀说过，晚上路上有强盗。我没听……
Xīshuài shuōguo, wǎnshang lùshang yǒu qiángdào. Wǒ méi tīng…
The Cricket told me there were robbers on the road at night. I didn't listen...
- Narrator 北风来了。匹诺曹在风里，左一下，右一下。
Běifēng lái le. Pǐnuòcáo zài fēng lǐ, zuǒ yíxià, yòu yíxià.
The north wind came. Pinocchio swung in the wind, this way, then that way.
- Pinocchio 有人吗？有人吗？谁来救我？
Yǒu rén ma? Yǒu rén ma? Shéi lái jiù wǒ?
Is anyone there? Anyone? Who will come and save me?
- Pinocchio 白房子里的女孩……她为什么不开门？
Bái fángzi lǐ de nǚhái… tā wèishénme bù kāimén?
The girl in the white house... why didn't she open the door?
- Pinocchio 我说过，我会做一个好孩子……我没做到……
Wǒ shuōguo, wǒ huì zuò yí gè hǎo háizi… wǒ méi zuòdào…
I said I'd be a good boy... and I wasn't...
- Pinocchio 绳子……好难受……
Shéngzi… hǎo nánshòu…
The rope... it hurts so...
- Pinocchio 四个金币……爸爸的新大衣……

Four gold coins... Papa's new coat...
