It's me. I'm the Talking Cricket. I've lived in this room for a hundred years.
- Pinocchio 一百年？那你走吧！现在，这是我的家！
Yìbǎi nián? Nà nǐ zǒu ba! Xiànzài, zhè shì wǒ de jiā!
A hundred years? Then off you go! This is my house now!
- The Talking Cricket 我不走。孩子，我有话告诉你。
Wǒ bù zǒu. Háizi, wǒ yǒu huà gàosu nǐ.
I'm not leaving. Child, I have something to tell you.
- The Talking Cricket 不听爸爸话的孩子，以后会很难过。
Bù tīng bàba huà de háizi, yǐhòu huì hěn nánguò.
Children who don't listen to their papa will be very sorry one day.
- Pinocchio 我不怕！明天我还要跑。我不要上学，我要玩！
Wǒ bú pà! Míngtiān wǒ hái yào pǎo. Wǒ bú yào shàngxué, wǒ yào wán!
I'm not scared! Tomorrow I'll run off again. I don't want school, I want to play!
- The Talking Cricket 傻瓜！你的头是木头做的！
Shǎguā! Nǐ de tóu shì mùtou zuò de!
You little fool! Your head is made of wood!
- The Talking Cricket 你不上学，长大了会变成一头驴！
Nǐ bú shàngxué, zhǎngdà le huì biànchéng yì tóu lǘ!
If you won't go to school, you'll grow up into a donkey!
- Pinocchio 我不是驴！我是匹诺曹！
Wǒ bú shì lǘ! Wǒ shì Pǐnuòcáo!
I'm not a donkey! I'm Pinocchio!
- Pinocchio 走开！你走开！我不要听！
Zǒukāi! Nǐ zǒukāi! Wǒ bú yào tīng!
Go away! Go away! I won't listen!
- Narrator 匹诺曹拿起一块木头，打了过去。蟋蟀不动了。
Pǐnuòcáo ná qǐ yí kuài mùtou, dǎ le guòqu. Xīshuài bú dòng le.
Pinocchio picked up a block of wood and threw it. The Cricket did not move again.
- Pinocchio 蟋蟀？蟋蟀先生？你怎么不说话了？
Xīshuài? Xīshuài xiānsheng? Nǐ zěnme bù shuōhuà le?
Cricket? Mr. Cricket? Why have you stopped talking?
- Pinocchio 我好饿啊……锅！锅里有吃的！
Wǒ hǎo è a… Guō! Guō lǐ yǒu chī de!
I'm so hungry... The pot! There's food in the pot!
- Pinocchio 天哪，锅是画的！火也是画的！
Tiān na, guō shì huà de! Huǒ yě shì huà de!
Oh no, the pot's only painted! The fire too!
- Pinocchio 这儿有一个鸡蛋！太好了！
Zhèr yǒu yí gè jīdàn! Tài hǎo le!
Here's an egg! Hooray!
- the Chick 谢谢你，匹诺曹先生！再见！
Xièxie nǐ, Pǐnuòcáo xiānsheng! Zàijiàn!
Thank you, Mr. Pinocchio! Goodbye!
- Pinocchio 鸡蛋里有小鸟？它飞出窗户了！
Jīdàn lǐ yǒu xiǎoniǎo? Tā fēi chū chuānghu le!
A little bird in my egg? It flew out the window!
- Pinocchio 会说话的蟋蟀说得对……爸爸，你在哪儿？
Huì shuōhuà de Xīshuài shuō de duì… Bàba, nǐ zài nǎr?
The Talking Cricket was right... Papa, where are you?
- Pinocchio 下大雨了！好冷！你看，那个窗户里有灯！
Xià dà yǔ le! Hǎo lěng! Nǐ kàn, nàge chuānghu lǐ yǒu dēng!
It's pouring! So cold! Look, there's a light in that window!
- Pinocchio 有人吗？给我一点儿面包吧！我好饿！
Yǒu rén ma? Gěi wǒ yìdiǎnr miànbāo ba! Wǒ hǎo è!
Is anyone there? Please give me a little bread! I'm so hungry!
- the Old Man at the Window 这么晚了，你要什么？
Zhème wǎn le, nǐ yào shénme?
At this hour? What do you want?
- Pinocchio 面包！一点儿就好！
Miànbāo! Yìdiǎnr jiù hǎo!
Bread! Just a little!
- the Old Man at the Window 好，等一下！
Hǎo, děng yíxià!
Fine. Wait right there!
- Pinocchio 是水！好冷，好冷！
Shì shuǐ! Hǎo lěng, hǎo lěng!
Water! Cold, so cold!
- Pinocchio 我又冷又饿……回家了。这儿有火！是真的，不是画的！
Wǒ yòu lěng yòu è… Huíjiā le. Zhèr yǒu huǒ! Shì zhēn de, bú shì huà de!
Cold and hungry... Home again. There's a fire here! A real one, not a painted one!
- Pinocchio 脚好冷，放在火上……好热，好舒服……
Jiǎo hǎo lěng, fàng zài huǒ shàng… hǎo rè, hǎo shūfu…
My feet are so cold. I'll rest them on the fire... Nice and warm... so cozy...
- Narrator 匹诺曹睡了。他的木头脚，一点一点烧没了。
Pǐnuòcáo shuì le. Tā de mùtou jiǎo, yìdiǎn yìdiǎn shāo méi le.
Pinocchio fell asleep. Bit by bit, his wooden feet burned away.
- Narrator 天亮了。匹诺曹醒了。
Tiān liàng le. Pǐnuòcáo xǐng le.
Morning came. Pinocchio woke up.
- Geppetto 匹诺曹！是爸爸！爸爸回来了！快开门！
Pǐnuòcáo! Shì bàba! Bàba huílai le! Kuài kāimén!
Pinocchio! It's Papa! Papa's home! Quick, open the door!
