Two robbers in black sacks want Pinocchio's gold. He bites, runs and jumps his way to a little white house, where a pale girl waits at the window.

In the dark of night, the two black sacks stood in front of Pinocchio. They were robbers, and both had knives.
- Pinocchio 坏人！我的四个金币……快，放在嘴里！
Huàirén! Wǒ de sì gè jīnbì… kuài, fàng zài zuǐ lǐ!
Bad men! My four gold coins... quick, into my mouth!
- the Big Robber 站住！钱！把钱给我们！
Zhànzhù! Qián! Bǎ qián gěi wǒmen!
Stop right there! Money! Give us your money!

No money? Then we'll kill you, and your papa too!

Shénme shēngyīn? Nǐ piàn wǒmen! Qián zài tā zuǐ lǐ!
What's that sound? You lied to us! The money's in his mouth!

...in his mouth! I'll get it!

Aaah! He bit me! He bit my hand!
- Narrator 从匹诺曹嘴里出来的，是一只爪子，猫的爪子。

What came out of Pinocchio's mouth was a paw. A cat's paw.
- Pinocchio 跑！快跑！快跑！
Pǎo! Kuài pǎo! Kuài pǎo!
Run! Run! Run fast!
- the Big Robber 他上树了！好，我们烧树！
Tā shàng shù le! Hǎo, wǒmen shāo shù!
He's gone up a tree! Fine, we'll burn the tree!
- the Small Robber ……烧树！

- Pinocchio 火来了！好热，好热！一，二，三，跳！
Huǒ lái le! Hǎo rè, hǎo rè! Yī, èr, sān, tiào!
Here comes the fire! So hot, so hot! One, two, three, jump!
- Pinocchio 前边有一条小河……我跳！我过去了！
Qiánbian yǒu yì tiáo xiǎo hé… wǒ tiào! Wǒ guòqu le!
There's a stream ahead... I jump! I made it across!
- the Big Robber 水！水！我的口袋里都是水！
Shuǐ! Shuǐ! Wǒ de kǒudai lǐ dōu shì shuǐ!
Water! Water! My sack's full of water!
- Pinocchio 好玩！两位，洗个澡吧！再见！
Hǎowán! Liǎng wèi, xǐ gè zǎo ba! Zàijiàn!
What fun! Enjoy your bath, gentlemen! Bye-bye!
- Pinocchio 那儿有个白房子！开门！开门！救我！我是匹诺曹！
Nàr yǒu gè bái fángzi! Kāimén! Kāimén! Jiù wǒ! Wǒ shì Pǐnuòcáo!
There's a white house! Open up! Open up! Save me! I'm Pinocchio!
- Narrator 窗户开了。里边有个蓝头发的女孩，脸很白，闭着眼睛。
Chuānghu kāi le. Lǐbian yǒu gè lán tóufa de nǚhái, liǎn hěn bái, bìzhe yǎnjing.
A window opened. Inside was a girl with turquoise hair, her face very pale, her eyes closed.
- The Fairy with Turquoise Hair 这个房子里，没有人。他们都死了。
Zhège fángzi lǐ, méiyǒu rén. Tāmen dōu sǐ le.
There is no one in this house. They are all dead.
- Pinocchio 那你给我开门！快！强盗来了！
Nà nǐ gěi wǒ kāimén! Kuài! Qiángdào lái le!
Then you open the door for me! Hurry! The robbers are coming!
- The Fairy with Turquoise Hair 我也死了。
Wǒ yě sǐ le.
I am dead too.
- Pinocchio 死了？那你在那儿做什么？
Sǐ le? Nà nǐ zài nàr zuò shénme?
Dead? Then what are you doing there?
- The Fairy with Turquoise Hair 我在等一个黑色的箱子……它会来带我走。
Wǒ zài děng yí gè hēisè de xiāngzi… tā huì lái dài wǒ zǒu.
I am waiting for a black box... It will come and take me away.
- Pinocchio 什么箱子？喂！别走……她走了！
Shénme xiāngzi? Wèi! Bié zǒu… tā zǒu le!
What box? Hey! Don't go... She's gone!
- the Big Robber 抓到你了！看你还往哪儿跑！
Zhuādào nǐ le! Kàn nǐ hái wǎng nǎr pǎo!
