Under the rising moon, Holmes kneels to turn the dead man over, just as a familiar figure strolls up with a glowing cigar.

Sir Henry is dead... It's all my fault. I should never have left him.

No, Watson, the fault is mine. I wanted to wait one more day, but the hound didn't wait.

A beard? Sir Henry has no beard... I've seen this face before! It's Selden, the convict!
- Sherlock Holmes 我从来没有这么喜欢过一把胡子。

I have never been so fond of a beard.
- Dr. Watson 可是，他是巴里摩尔太太的弟弟……她会多难过啊。

But he was Mrs. Barrymore's little brother... How sad she'll be.

Then why was Selden wearing Sir Henry's clothes?

I know! Sir Henry gave his old clothes to Barrymore, and the dark red suit was among them.
- Sherlock Holmes 巴里摩尔又送给了赛尔登。所以，是这套衣服害死了他。
Bālǐmó'ěr yòu sònggěi le Sài'ěrdēng. Suǒyǐ, shì zhè tào yīfu hàisǐ le tā.
And Barrymore passed it on to Selden. So it was this suit that killed him.

The clothes carry Sir Henry's smell. The hound caught it and chased him all the way.

But how would a hound know Sir Henry's smell?

- Narrator 月光下，一个人慢慢走过来，嘴里的雪茄一亮一亮的。
Yuèguāng xià, yí gè rén mànmàn zǒu guòlái, zuǐ li de xuějiā yí liàng yí liàng de.
In the moonlight a man came slowly toward them, the cigar in his mouth glowing bright, then dim.
- Dr. Watson 是斯台普顿！
Shì Sītáipǔdùn!
It's Stapleton!
- Sherlock Holmes 别说话，华生。我们什么都不知道。
Bié shuōhuà, Huáshēng. Wǒmen shénme dōu bù zhīdào.
Not a word, Watson. We know nothing at all.
- Stapleton 华生医生，是你吗？这是谁？受伤了？不会是……我们的朋友亨利爵士吧？
Huáshēng yīshēng, shì nǐ ma? Zhè shì shéi? Shòushāng le? Bú huì shì… wǒmen de péngyou Hēnglì Juéshì ba?
Dr. Watson, is that you? Who's this? Hurt? It can't be... our friend Sir Henry?
- Sherlock Holmes 不是他。是赛尔登。
Bú shì tā. Shì Sài'ěrdēng.
Not him. It's Selden.
- Stapleton 赛尔登？……天哪，真可怕。他是怎么死的？
Sài'ěrdēng?… Tiān na, zhēn kěpà. Tā shì zěnme sǐ de?
Selden?... Good heavens, how dreadful. How did he die?
- Sherlock Holmes 从石头上掉下来的。天太黑，他跑得太快了。
Cóng shítou shang diào xiàlái de. Tiān tài hēi, tā pǎo de tài kuài le.
He fell from the rocks. It was too dark, and he was running too fast.
- Stapleton 我请亨利爵士今天晚上来我家。他没来，我有点不放心。
Wǒ qǐng Hēnglì Juéshì jīntiān wǎnshang lái wǒ jiā. Tā méi lái, wǒ yǒudiǎn bú fàngxīn.
I'd asked Sir Henry over this evening. He didn't come, and I was a little worried.
- Stapleton 你们刚才……没听见别的声音吗？

- Sherlock Holmes 只是来看看。明天我就回伦敦去。

I only came for a look. Tomorrow I go back to London.
- Stapleton 明天就走？好吧……晚安。
Míngtiān jiù zǒu? Hǎo ba… wǎn'ān.
Leaving tomorrow? Well... good night.
- Dr. Watson 你看见他的脸了吗？他一看是赛尔登，脸马上就白了！
Nǐ kànjiàn tā de liǎn le ma? Tā yí kàn shì Sài'ěrdēng, liǎn mǎshàng jiù bái le!
Did you see his face? The moment he saw it was Selden, he went white!
- Sherlock Holmes 看见了。他想骗我们，那我们也骗骗他。

I saw. He wants to fool us, so we'll do a little fooling of our own.

Then why don't we seize him right now?
