Holmes announces that he and Watson are leaving for London, sends Sir Henry out alone after dark, and shows Laura Lyons a photograph that makes her cry out.

Walk across the moor alone? But you told me: never go on the moor alone at night!
- Sherlock Holmes 今天晚上不一样。你相信我吗？
Jīntiān wǎnshang bù yíyàng. Nǐ xiāngxìn wǒ ma?
Tonight is different. Do you trust me?
- Sir Henry 相信。好，我听你的。
Xiāngxìn. Hǎo, wǒ tīng nǐ de.

Later that morning, at the Coombe Tracey station, Cartwright boarded the train to London.
- Sherlock Holmes 卡特赖特，到了伦敦，就用我的名字给亨利爵士发电报。
Kǎtèlàitè, dào le Lúndūn, jiù yòng wǒ de míngzi gěi Hēnglì Juéshì fā diànbào.
Cartwright, when you reach London, send Sir Henry a telegram in my name.

Zhèyàng, dàjiā dōu huì yǐwéi nǐ zhēn de huí Lúndūn qù le.
That way, everyone will think you really have gone back to London.
- Sherlock Holmes 他骗了我们这么久，现在该我们骗他了。

He's fooled us for so long. Now it's our turn to fool him.
- Laura Lyons 又是你，华生医生？这位先生是谁？

You again, Dr. Watson? And who is this gentleman?
- Sherlock Holmes 我是福尔摩斯。莱昂斯太太，查尔斯爵士不是病死的。这是谋杀。
Wǒ shì Fú'ěrmósī. Lái'ángsī tàitai, Chá'ěrsī Juéshì bú shì bìng sǐ de. Zhè shì móushā.
I am Holmes. Mrs. Lyons, Sir Charles did not die of illness. It was murder.
- Laura Lyons 谋杀？你为什么跟我说这个？
Móushā? Nǐ wèishénme gēn wǒ shuō zhège?
Murder? Why are you telling me this?
- Sherlock Holmes 请你看看这张照片：斯台普顿先生和……斯台普顿太太。
Qǐng nǐ kànkan zhè zhāng zhàopiàn: Sītáipǔdùn xiānsheng hé… Sītáipǔdùn tàitai.
Please look at this photograph: Mr. Stapleton and... Mrs. Stapleton.
- Laura Lyons 太太？可是……她是他的妹妹啊！
Tàitai? Kěshì… tā shì tā de mèimei a!
Mrs. Stapleton? But... she's his sister!
- Sherlock Holmes 不是妹妹，是太太。他们在北方的时候就结婚了。
Bú shì mèimei, shì tàitai. Tāmen zài běifāng de shíhou jiù jiéhūn le.
Not his sister: his wife. They were already married back in the north.
- Laura Lyons 他骗了我！他说过要跟我结婚的！

He lied to me! He said he would marry me!
- Dr. Watson 那封信，是他让你写的吗？
Nà fēng xìn, shì tā ràng nǐ xiě de ma?
That letter: did he make you write it?
- Laura Lyons 是他！每个字都是他教我写的。“十点钟，到小门那儿来”，“把信烧了”……
Shì tā! Měi gè zì dōu shì tā jiāo wǒ xiě de. “Shí diǎn zhōng, dào xiǎo mén nàr lái”, “Bǎ xìn shāo le”…
It was him! He told me every word to write. "Come to the little gate at ten," "burn this letter"...
- Dr. Watson 那你为什么没去？
Nà nǐ wèishénme méi qù?
Then why didn't you go?
- Laura Lyons 他又说，别去了，钱的事，他来帮我想办法。
Tā yòu shuō, bié qù le, qián de shì, tā lái bāng wǒ xiǎng bànfǎ.
Then he told me not to go: he would help me find the money himself.
- Laura Lyons 查尔斯爵士死了以后，他说：什么都别说。要是说了，大家会以为是你。这是我们的秘密。
Chá'ěrsī Juéshì sǐ le yǐhòu, tā shuō: shénme dōu bié shuō. Yàoshi shuō le, dàjiā huì yǐwéi shì nǐ. Zhè shì wǒmen de mìmì.
After Sir Charles died, he said: say nothing. If you talk, everyone will think it was you. This is our secret.

At five forty the London train came in. Off stepped a small man, lean and tough.

Mr. Holmes! Got something good for me?
- Sherlock Holmes 这些年来最大的一个案子，雷斯垂德探长。
Zhèxiē nián lái zuì dà de yí gè ànzi, Léisīchuídé tànzhǎng.
The biggest case in years, Inspector Lestrade.
- Inspector Lestrade 好。在哪儿？什么时候？
Hǎo. Zài nǎr? Shénme shíhou?
Good. Where? When?
- Sherlock Holmes 荒原上。今天晚上。
Huāngyuán shang. Jīntiān wǎnshang.
On the moor. Tonight.
- Narrator 天黑了。马车在荒原上走着，往斯台普顿家去。
Tiān hēi le. Mǎchē zài huāngyuán shang zǒuzhe, wǎng Sītáipǔdùn jiā qù.
Night fell. The carriage rolled across the moor toward the Stapletons' house.
- Inspector Lestrade 又黑又冷！福尔摩斯先生，我们到底要抓谁？
Yòu hēi yòu lěng! Fú'ěrmósī xiānsheng, wǒmen dàodǐ yào zhuā shéi?
Dark and cold! Mr. Holmes, who exactly are we after?
- Sherlock Holmes 一个很聪明的人。雷斯垂德，你第一次来荒原吧？这个晚上，你永远不会忘记。
Yí gè hěn cōngming de rén. Léisīchuídé, nǐ dì yī cì lái huāngyuán ba? Zhège wǎnshang, nǐ yǒngyuǎn bú huì wàngjì.
